That's great the Card holders are a PITA..

Oh. One thing it didn't get was the card holder to keep the lights on. All light switches left in place.

we would love this as well...we live in the charlotte,  nc area as well... not far from rock hill, sc and RC out of charleston would be fantastic for us.

Plus one.   Would love to have a Royal ship cruise from Charleston.   Easy drive from Charlotte.   

I live less than an hour away.  It would be nice to take advantage of some of those last minute cruise sales for a weekend trip.

On this one.... the ship that sails out of Charleston is one of Carnivals smaller ships.  There are plans in the next two years to expand the port area in this location but not sure what size ship would be able to come to this port.  BUT i am always asking this at sales meetings because I love a driveable port!  Allows you to cruise more often.
And Rock Hill..... My son lives there!  I am there a few times a year.  great place you are at !

Putting the knowledge of this group to the test. I could google, and find out, im sure....but Id rather ask here.  Currently, to my knowledge, only Carnival sails in and out of Charleston, SC. I love the idea of having a port so close to home, and would LOVE for there to be a RC offering out of that port. How are the ports determined, and would it ever be a possibility for there to be an RC offering out of Charleston?  

As far as the doors go, I highly doubt they would have to replace the whole door just to install a different type of lock activation mechanism. It is already electronic. The only difference is the method of activation of the lock. The only difference would be inserting a card vs holding an rfid chip close enough to it to activate it. Tons of hotels have retrofitted this kind of system onto existing doors. Also, I don't see any other reason for that picture than to show the new mechanism. And the cabins in the picture are VERY close to the one we booked on deck 11. I asked about this months ago on this forum and even had my TA check on it with RC but no clear answer. I hope this will mean we also can get the WOW bands if in fact this is what it appears to be! VERY exciting!
 

agree 100%...we are big disney fans and have been saying for years that they need something similar to the disney magic band system on cruises. fingers crossed.

please please please please please please please have the WOW bands.  Used similar tech when we stayed at Disney and it just made everything they were able to be used for so much easier.  That's what I want on vacation.

Hopefully this means the WOW bands will be able to be used.  Also, has anyone heard is the BBQ place going to be free, or is there an additional charge for that? 

Is this in any way lower-priced relative to the Star Class suites that have a balcony?? I don't care if it gets you the genie and all other Star Class perks, that's an insane amount of money to pay for a cabin that's one floor and lacks a balcony, especially if the point of those suites is to spend most of your time in them. If I'm staying in the suite all the time, then I darned well want a balcony to enjoy breakfast on, watch the sunrise / sunset from, and use for reading or otherwise relaxing in the fresh air and sunshine.

7 day Harmony Jan 2020 sailing has been at $65 with a few dips to $61. Saw it drop to $57 yesterday so i went ahead and grabbed it. I'll keep an eye on the black friday numbers too.

We were at $55 and $59 for the longest time.  Hopefully yours will drop also the closer you get or maybe you can get some better sales.

You then, are part of the problem .... and if you can't see that, then I can't help you.  for all those times you were in the restaurants, in your cabin, someone else, who also paid their cruise fare, could be enjoying the lounger.

That response about people looking for chairs being "unreal" says it all. I'm looking for a chair and can't find one near the pool and others are out to lunch and actually  think that they  can block someone else from enjoying the pool while they  go to lunch at chops. I"m speechless!

Rules mean nothing to people who have wrapped themselves in a cocoon of self importance.

Actually, Cookie10*, you are the one who is unreal. You have a total disregard for the RC pool rule of "no reserving deck chairs/loungers" as well as total lack of respect for fellow cruisers. My question for you is, what makes you so special?
