ManonM got a reaction from amathis in Alcohol bottle for room
    Hi,
I've seen in some posts that you can order a bottle of alcohol (prior to departure) and have it delivered to your room once in international water if leaving from Texas. I've looked in the cruise planner and I don't see it under any category. I see bottles of wine and champagne only. Will it appear closer to sailing? Departing on Sep 29 on Liberty.
We've purchased the deluxe drink package for our room, but my in-laws will not drink very much, but would appreciate having a few drinks in their room without having to go to a bar to pick it up.
Thanks for any info/advice you can provide :)

GO to the pub, ask for a pint of Cider (if it's on tap) or a bottle of strongbow.  Might have to wait a few minutes (some bartenders wont serve you a shot and a beer).  Get a shot of Fireball, proceed to dump the fireball into the cider.  You now have a cinnamon-y delicious and strong concoction.

It looks like the Sky Bar will be open until 11 each night.
We are on that same cruise.  Can't wait!

I was on Liberty a couple of weeks ago, and unfortunately we never made it out to the pools at night, and bar times aren't listed in the Cruise Compass. If the pool bar isn't open, you might try Squeeze, Sky Bar, or the Solarium Bar. If none of those are open, the next closest bar is the Plaza Bar in the Windjammer.

I believe the Sky bar is open later(if that's what its called now). There is usually a bar open in that area from my travels on other Voyager and Freedom class ships that I have been on.

But I haven't been in Liberty, so perhaps someone else who has  can verify.

I use this card holder in my lanyard, is very convenient and it hold the key card in it, and are very easy to pull out to give to a bar tender etc.

I'm the Ovation right now.  They have the RFID card.  I'm using a clear plastic sleeve and a belt loop key ring.
On older ships without the RFID cards, I just punch a hole on the card and use a lanyard attachment. (No sleeve)

Upload to the cloud may be slow depending on what you are used to, but overnight it should catch up.
Typical Voom upload speed is ~2Mbps which is actually better than family get on Bell Sympatico DSL in a rural part of Ontario.

    Update:
This may sound crazy but neither my BF or I have traveled this long for pleasure (I was in Nassau for 9 days for work but that's a different story), so we did a practice pack...
Yes you read that right, we did a practice run of packing and BOY am I glad we did. We realized we didn't have enough packing cubes, we needed USB hub for travel and we needed toiletry bags for the both of us, as well as SeaBands and a few other items that we purchased through Amazon today. We also realized that we are going to have to take a suitcase for each of us, yes we pack a bit but at the same time we are bringing his suit, including jacket, which takes up room and he wears size 18 shoe.... which takes up a lot of room.
Now, I know it sounds crazy that we did this, but with our insane schedules coming up, we have 3 concerts, 1 other trip and both of us will be starting new FT jobs (mine during peak season of my job) it just made sense, I now have a spreadsheet of everything we are bringing along with having them all photographed and itemized in a spreadsheet. My little Type-A personality is very happy.
Ironically this was the BFs idea... anyone else do something like this?
