I'll bite.  Pun intended.  What's a Chicago dog?

I landed on this topic because I was really hoping for a Chicago dog (sailing HOTS 4/21/24), but alas I believe I will be sorely disappointed... A dedicated hot dog house with NO Chicago dog? Ahhh, the sport peppers, neon green chemical relish, poppyseed bun...? I'm guessing if the normal buns are suspect, there will be no "gourmet" buns.

For me it depends on what port and what I'm doing.  Labadee or Coco Cay?  You may find me headed back to the ship 20 minutes prior to All Aboard.  Any excursion where I'm being transported away from the ship (not just wandering on foot) that isn't Royal Caribbean's doing?  I'm going to make sure I'm planning to be back 90 minutes prior.

And ALWAYS double check what the ship time is before getting off the ship.  I always check the time in the app as well to make sure they sync.  I've heard too many stories of people almost or actually missing the boat because they were on local time and not ship time.

I have two fairly conspicuous black blink cameras in my home to keep myself safe and to be aware of what may or may not happen while I am not there or asleep. At one point, one of these 3 inch by 3 inch pure black cameras was mounted against an all white wall in the open in my kitchen while I watched my landlord and her hirees do work in my kitchen. My landlord NEVER noticed it. I told her, "just so you're not freaked out, I do have a camera in there" and she's like "where?" and I told her exactly where to look and she couldn't see it. I had to literally stand under it and point it out for her to see it.
So I can see how smaller cameras placed in areas people wouldn't generally look can be hidden but still recording.

For most of the week I kept ignoring mentions of this story thinking that people were dredging up the older story where a staff member was found to be recording in the public bathrooms because "surely" my brain reasoned "there aren't two separate instances of this happening so relatively close together..."
But there are and this one is miles worse and I am sickened to read what he did and how long he was able to do it and i hate that we as vacationers have to consider all these extra precautions just to having a good time...

Like the others, I plan to be back aboard about an hour before all aboard time (to avoid any delays and any super long lines). If I want to play in the port area, I aim to be back around there 2 hours before.
Once, in Curacao, I only gave myself 1 hour to play at the port area and I guess I misjudged how long I'd be there because i ended up stepping foot on board exactly at the all aboard time. My mom, who had gotten back before me, was joking that I was gonna be a pier runner but luckily our room faced the dock so she'd just toss my stuff down to me 😅 It was only funny because I made it on time but the hustle to get back was very nerve wracking

As a business traveler the concept of hidden cameras has been something on my mind for decades.
Erin Andrews from ESPN had to deal with it from a 2008 incident in a hotel room in Tennessee.  I think that individual brought the idea to the mainstream.  Since then advancements with technology has made it easier for those that followed his lead, unfortunately.

We generally start heading back to the ship an hour or two before all aboard time.  However, you have until all aboard time to get there.

Planning an independent excursion, I would give yourself an hour or two between the end of the excursion and all aboard time just to be safe.  Give yourself even more time if the independent excursion is not near the port.

This is further clouded by the fact that there are now Sky Junior Suites.
What I personally dislike is that Coastal Kitchen is listed as a benefit of a Junior Suite, yet Royal Caribbean potentially limits your access simply because it is a Junior Suite. Full suite guests can book early through the concierge, securing reservations before you board, leaving very limited availability for Sea Junior Suites, or with only unfavourable dining times remaining.

They didn’t provide this option to us, and you could not view the photos in the photo gallery. They were only available for purchase directly from the photographer.
Perhaps it is something they are trialing on certain ships, as some seem to have experienced it while others have not.
Also, we were trying to use our C&A free photo coupon as we have done in the past, but it is no longer available for use with specialty restaurant photos.

I don’t understand why they would go back to printed photos, I only want digital. I can print any photos I want and I can crop the frame from the photos if I want to.

Also remember that there are (at least) two kinds of credit:

Refundable OBC -- anything not used can be refunded back to the original form of payment
Non-Refundable OBC -- anything not used is forfeited

There is a "trick" where you can do a room charge in the casino and "cash out" the non-refundable OBC which we have used a few times.  However this last time they asked "you cashed out and did not play?", so I wonder if they are monitoring that and looking to remove that as an option in the future.

We got hit with this surprise in Jaime's last year. We assumed the photos were going to be treated just like the ones taking in the MDR, so we happily posed and everything. Then, half way through our meal we're being presented with the photos to buy. We said "oh no we don't need the print/frame, we have the photo package" and that's how we found out it's an add on charge.
I do wish they made it clear that it wasn't included like allllll the other roaming photographers >.>

Like @PPPJJ-GCVAB said, it usually ends up all lumped to one account so you'll definitely want to pop to GS to get it split. I also suggest doing this before you starting spending any money as I've found it seems to take a bit longer (48 hours vs 12) to get it applied if you already have a tab on your account.

I've done it a couple times when the desserts in the MDR aren't hitting for me and I know Windjammer almost always has cookies or at least one cake that I'll like. Haven't gone for a full meal or even nibbles after because usually by the time I want that WJ is closed and it's the long sorrentos line for me hahaha

I always do MTD because I like 7:30 dining time. Last week on anthem I went just about every night and would arrive at 7:15 and basically there was no line and no waiting and I got the same table every night but it might be easier because I get a two person because I'm solo.

I like your eating rules. I try to stick to it at home but find it difficult on a cruise.  and Congrats on the weight loss and being able to keep it off.

It is typically placed on the first person listed in the room.  However you can go to Guest Services and request having it split amongst the room occupants.
