  1. I've read one review of a Royal escape room from someone who did a number of them. He said it was more detailed than others he's done and was a lot of fun. I've never done one and was curious how it would go for a escape room virgin ? It seems fun!
  2. Dynamic pricing FOR SURE! Royal is still having their sale for Cruise Planner items (for another day+ at this time) and the price went from $56 before the sale, $52 when the sale started (for the last two days), to $65! right now. I was waiting for the next paycheck to get it... ? Missed that sale! This is for my September 13 Navigator sailing.
  3. I believe I've read that if you aren't interested in the coconut, only the drink, then you can get them to put the same thing in a cup and it's covered under the DBP. I know I've read it works this way at Labadee with their signature drink. I'm not sure of the price completely on its own. There are some great CocoCay reviews and live-blogs on the site that do have the drink menus on them.
  4. I've seen games at Playmakers and now I'm curious whether arcade credits work there. I always assumed so which is why I planned on getting $25 worth before my wife and I sale, but if I'm wrong I will definitely cancel those plans.
  5. True. I was thinking about the beach cabanas but a fella can dream about an over water one! ?
  6. I'm going to be interested to see the Coco Beach Club cabanas and what they go for, since they'll include entrance to the area. But if these prices are any indication, they're going to be a lot more than originally advertised and well outside my range ?
  7. I always think it's great when companies continually assess their guests' experiences and feelings on future ventures. Great to know RCCL is doing that. A company that large should always be doing it. Thanks for the info!
  8. Yes. We've purchased red bulls with it. They're a must for me when I'm feeling like I'm going to have to skip some nights events because I'm too tired! Haha
  9. I suppose I didn't mean fast-food quick. From my little bit of experience at other specialty restaurants the experience was usually a couple of hours. So 30-45 minutes is probably more accurate than saying "quick." And that's a good point about the temp. I hadn't thought about it.
  10. So can anyone help me with a couple things regarding Izumi's sushi on the Navigator? We have the Unlimited Dining Package but aren't super interested in staying for a while meal there on our short cruise. Is it a quick process to go in and order some sushi? Can we take it to go? Thank you for any help!
  11. So we did our honeymoon on Empress. It was my wife's first cruise and my 2nd. The ship was beautiful and everything was wonderful. To be honest about your teens, when I was a young kid and went on a cruise with my parents (our one and only, they get SO seasick), all I remember is finding other kids my age and getting to roam around and hangout with them. The freedom of being able to go get a slice of pizza or go to the pool or get a soda whenever I wanted was so much more fun than going up a rock wall a couple times. So honestly I think they'd like it! ?
  12. This is the key to me. My wife and I both love drinking Makers Mark whisky. Which on land will cost you $10+ for a drink made with it. But it's included in the DBP. Just ask for Tito's vodka, Patron Silver tequila, Miami Club rum, and other top shelf liqueurs for each drink you buy and you'll like the taste better AND be getting your money's worth. Add to those liqueurs fresh squeezed juice, great specialty coffees, and let us not forget the can't-do-without-it Red Bull when I'm SO tired from relaxing all day - God only knows why - and I don't think I'll make it through dinner then dancing and a late-night show. There are so many amazing ways to take advantage of the DBP, I'm sure you won't have a problem! ?
  13. That's great info! I'll make sure we stop by and check out which places are open on the sly. If we could use the package for lunch on the day in Nassau (don't plan on leaving the ship) then I would be THRILLED. I figured if I eat a complete meal one place then I'll be done for the night too! Haha I'm at least planning on maybe skipping a course at one place to sub in that course or a second one at another ? Or having an early-dinner and a late-dinner. Our inner-Bacchus comes out on a cruise; UDP and a DBP!
  14. Being just a few hours from the port, I'm curious to see how low the prices get. They're not priced too high, but being new to cruising I've been trying to pick upcoming dates on bigger ships to explore the options RCCL has. But if the price was right I'd love to get to know Majesty of the Seas!
  15. We're right on the coast, so New Orleans is only about 2 1/2 hours away. Much better than the 10 hours to Ft. Lauderdale! I've been to New Orleans a lot. There's plenty to do in the city for families, couples, or single folks. And you can always find a nice AirBnB for pretty cheap there. The trolleys run to most of the places you'd like to go, and it's just a good city for people watching.
  16. I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Paul and my wife's Hillary. The two of us are booked for one of Navigator's short sailings - September 13th - and have another planned in April on Independence to bring the kids along! So glad to find this community to help share and plan for the trips. I've definitely learned a lot already. We're from the Alabama gulf coast, so within driving distance of all the Gulf Coast ports. I'm excited to see RCCL ships leaving out of New Orleans again (since it's the closest). But the 7-day cruises are hard to get off work right now so I'll have to wait until they start some 5 day ones. Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome so far! Paul
  17. My wife and I had this same thought! Also it was enticing to be able to stop in at Johnny Rockets for a late-night snack without paying. She loves sushi and I can take it or leave it, so we planned on going in for sushi for her and then another place for me. We love eating out if you can't tell... Can anyone give me details on the first night's dinner? I set a time in Cruise Planner, but it never asked me for which restaurant we wanted to eat at, so do I have to tell them once we're onboard making the other reservations? Also, can anyone confirm we will be able to grab lunch on embarkation day?
  18. Navigator September 13th! ? My wife and I are SO VERY ready for a vacation with just the two of us!
