People in shorts and t shirts paid just as much for that MDR meal as you did.  Possibly much more if they are staying in a suite and you aren't.  If their attire ruins your dinner, that's your problem.

I skipped both formal nights on Anthem last month. I was cruising solo for the first time and didn’t think it was necessary for me to pack dress clothes given that I was the only one who had to please me. ? I did kind of regret not doing one of the formal nights but it didn’t make or break my vacation. And it was definitely nice to not have to fight for a seat in the Windjammer on those nights! Plus people of all ages chose the Windjammer right along with me, so I think people of any demographic might prefer to skip the whole formal charade.
Honestly I pay little attention to what others are wearing or not wearing unless it is really memorable. When I reviewed my cruise on the Cruise Critic forums, someone asked me if I had seen people wear shorts in the MDR because they wanted to know if shorts were OK. I honestly didn’t even remember or care what people had on. It’s really not my business.

    Click bait title.
    Tearing passengers apart?  Please.
People have opinions and preferences.  That's hardly being torn apart.

Personally we don't get too dressy for formal night anymore (she'll wear a dress, I'll have shirt/tie dress pants - no suit); We also have not been to the main dining room on formal night in years. It's a few reason, one is to respect passengers who dress to the nines, the other is we aren't into the dining room experience. We've booked specialty restaurants or just gone to the windjammer. With two Oasis class sailings in 2020 the odds of seeing the inside of the dining room are very low.
With that, I do notice some people are very vocal (on the internet) about those not following the rules. I get why (kinda) but it's just energy not needing to be spent. Enjoy the company you're around, it's vacation after all.

Two medical emergencies on board required she make her way to port as quickly as possible.
The Captain announced they had consulted with doctors on land and determined this was safer than a helicopter evacuation.  There are situations where a helicopter evacuation can't be performed or isn't advisable.
The only impact to the cruise was the casino and shops closing early.    Otherwise you would have never known we were in port approximately 6 hours early.
Due to tides we were scheduled to be at the pilot station at 2am and we actually arrived at the pilot station near 8pm.
Ships often have to divert for medical reasons.  Helicopter evacuations are not standard.  Three weeks ago Empress had to visit Key West on an unscheduled basis to drop off a medical emergency.  That caused her to reach Miami a few hours late the next day.  It happens quite often and we frequently see ships from different cruise lines diverting or returning to port for medical emergencies.

The other piece of the equation, even under ideal circumstances with highly trained and experienced crews, medical evacuations at sea via helicopter are always inherently risky operations.  It is not worth risking the patient, the aircrew, or those in the immediate vicinity's health and well being to keep a few retail locations open a few hours more.  RCI absolutely made the right call to forgo additional profits to protect everyone involved.

In the same pice of advice as not trying to do everything, don't stop a fun time just because some silly trivia or karaoke is going on that seems great on the cruise planner. This isn't work where you need to abruptly stop what you're doing and run off to a meeting. If you miss Seinfeld trivia, you'll be okay :).
Example from my last cruise: I noticed Jeff Trachta was a headline act in the cruise planner and was super excited as I loved his American's Got Talent skits. Even though our friends were running off to karaoke in the music hall, I asked my wife if she'd join me. I said something like "we will just stick our heads in for a minute." We ended up staying the entire show and loved every second of it.
Know what. Our friends were still in the Music Hall and we caught the last person doing karaoke. Win-win.

That "wall of glass with one open window in the kid's play area"  has been on the Freedom of the Seas since its maiden voyage in 2006.  In all those 13 years, we have heard of NO ONE falling off that window... UNTIL a color blind grandfather put his 18-month old granddaughter on the railing to "bang the glass like she does at hockey games".

Remember the story a few weeks ago of the woman standing on the balcony railing taking a selfie?
A few days ago I'm eating breakfast in the Windjammer on Oasis.  Over by the Flowrider I see a couple doing a photo shoot with the woman sitting on the railing.  They took several shots over several minutes.  After looking them over she got back up on the railing and took some more.  It's at least 15' down to the deck below.

Stupid people do stupid things.  Sometimes they get away with it, sometimes it ends tragically.
The hand railing is never meant to be a sitting area.
Grandpa did something stupid and a little girl paid for it with her life.  The window didn't kill the child, the grandfather did and he knows it.  It's that simple.

Yes, I agree. One thing to keep in the back of your mind, it comes with an annual travel 'credit' of $300 dollars. As of right now, it's very loose EzPass, Hotels, Trains, Buses, etc, so it's pretty easy to use. With that said, it does have an annual fee of $450 so you still need to come up with $150 worth of benefits. I heard a rumor they might raise it to $550, ugh. :/.
My wife and I also go out more that we probably should, so I earn a decent amount of points in the food category.

sk8erguy1978 got a reaction from Steve L in Royal Caribbean Credit Card
My wife has it and uses it for her everyday purchases. We will use it from time to time for Royal Caribbean as well, but not exclusively. My Chase Sapphire Reserve provides 3 points per dollar spent on travel (vs RCL 2) and can be transferred to various airlines/hotels/etc or used via Chase Portal to book any type of travel (including Royal Caribbean Cruise, if I wanted, which I wouldn't). I can also use the points in a variety of other ways such as, actual cash back, gift cards, etc, etc (haven't looked at all only interested in travel). The Sapphire Reserve also provides other benefits such as auto insurance, travel insurance, and more.
My 'goto' cards are the Sapphire (3% travel - and EVERYTHING is travel including EzPass Tolls - & dining), Freedom Unlimited (1.5% everything else), & Freedom (rotating 5% categories) it creates a trifecta as all the points can be combined.

One of my son's checked bags did not make it to his destination with him.  Once the bag was delayed for 3 hours, he had a $100 credit to buy clothes to wear.  Easy process-simply send in the receipts.
