Though I appreciate your sentiment not all of us, as one, want to rebook. My business has been shut down, no income coming in. We can feel bad for the employees being laid off, but there are those of us with cruises up in the air that would prefer Royal cancel and isssue refunds so we can support our own families at this time. 

So sad....?

I feel pretty good about the June 12th return to sailing after watching the briefing from our President tonight.  "Opening Up America Again"  Love It!

Got this in my daily headlines email, talks about the cruise ship staff stuck on board and unable to leave since the shutdown happened. Mostly talking about Princess and HAL, but final sections talks about Ovation and a worker there. Actually makes positive statements about their condition / treatment, how the captain has been trying to help them, etc. First piece I’ve seen in a while covering the cruise industry in any kind of positive light, and even that’s tinged with a lot of negativity from the article’s main premise.

Part of the federal government's $2 trillion CARES act is availability of loans for small businesses to allow them to stay open and avoid having to lay off their employees. Loans are supposed to be forgivable as long as the business does no layoffs and I think makes some other commitments (e.g., no stock buybacks if they are a publicly traded company). Is this something that would help you out? My understanding it's pretty much a matter of applying at the local bank.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Royal do something similar, but Carnival just announced cancellation of all sailings of North American itineraries through June 26.
 

There has never been a vaccine for any virus in coronavirus family...just treatments & a shot of the previous year strain...which gonna make you sick for a few days, like flu shots normally do. The vaccine cure thing is a gross misnomer, imo. Also they say it will take a year to make, because by next year, you will be getting injected with this year strain. 

I doubt these companies have the ability to spend money on upgrading their ships and private islands when they aren't operating.  They are just trying to survive at the moment.

I interpreted it to mean this new order superseded the previous order, so 100 days from today. 
Though the ban could be lifted early, that sounds like a logistical nightmare for the cruise lines to react to begin staffing ships and for passengers to arrange flights, schedule new vacation times from work, etc. on a shorter notice. It would seem that a firm “return to sail” date would be best for all.
