CrznTxn got a reaction from Xaa in Coolers replacing mini fridges??
Most of the cabinets that the coolers are in are too restrictive on air flow which is why some of them do not cool very well. Also the thermoelectric temperature settings are not changable without disassembly or at all (I am a themo-mechanical engineer). We always prop the cabinet door open slightly with something to allow cooler cabin air in and better air flow. This usually, not always, helps get the temperature down to a chill level. Only one time did we have a cooler that actually froze some of the liquid in the wife's water bottles. The rest of the time is is only a slight chill better than room temperature. The ice bags will definitely help.

I watched this first hand on Allure where the Genie reserved the center front row seats for their charges at the Ice Show and had popcorn and drinks ready for them when they finally showed up 3 minutes before the show started. Saw it again at the Aqua Show later in the trip. Reserved two entire rows in the center and had their popcorn ready. Only problem half of them did not show up.

Not a problem. The wife brings a large plastic shell roll around and it fits perfectly under the bed. I slip my suitcase in hers and slide it under. Makes a great storage spot for items we use later in the cruise. One piece of advice, if you bring a stroller for the toddler, bring an umbrella stroller. It is much easier to get around and folds easily to take up less space when getting on and off any transportation.

I used the Starlink Voom on Grandeur for work and it was fine. Downloaded much, much faster than the previous internet and I could remote access my workstation back at the office and work off of that without issue.

The State of Texas limits what brand of alcohol you can consume until the ship gets a distance out of port. Do not stress, the selection is still good and you can order as soon as you step onboard.

It is on the app. Click on the person and choose the cruise you are sailing on, if you have multiple cruises. The safety videos will show on 8:00am on the day of the sailing. You can then watch them and be confirmed before you get aboard.

We have found that the service on the "smaller" ships is mostly better than on the larger ships. The crew is more in tune with the guests and they go out of their way to helpย  as they usually do not have all the bells and whistles of the big boys. We always love our small ship voyages over the bigger ones. As someone once said: "we aim to please".

The app, like many which are constantly being updated has some display and usage issues. We use the refresh by pulling down the time line at the top of the daily planner to update every time we use it while we are onboard. This has usually worked and loads any updates to the planner that may be made since the last time we accessed it.

Annual Birthday Cruise. Taking a cold to warm weather break to the Western Caribbean, visiting some of our favorite ports and snorkeling. What a way of celebrating getting old.

CrznTxn got a reaction from Galveston Steve in All Things Galveston
When they first started with the new terminal in Galveston they had some learning to do on the best procedures for embarkation and disembarkation. The first times we went (we have been pretty much once a month) were very painful and we heard lots of griping from folks on why it was taking so much longer than the old terminal. Over time Royal has adjusted how they process folks and now it seem everything, for the most part, is moving smoother and we rarely have any hiccups getting onboard. Our last cruise the wife was already onboard from a B2B with one of her friends and I was joining her onboard. With a 10:30 boarding time I thought I would be in the waiting area for a short while but to my surprise, when I got upstairs they had already started boarding and I was on the ship by 10:15. Kudos to Royal to changing and experimenting with the process and tweaking it to the better.

$25 is the standard charge for a pool towel. Always check your final bill (you can see it on your app) the last evening and if there is anything amiss you go to customer service immediately to have it corrected. Once off the ship it is difficult to have items disputed or refunded in a timely manner. Over the many cruises we have had there have been only a couple of times that there was a problem. We have had more problems with the other cruise lines than Royal which is why we prefer them.

The gym has the yoga mats. I have not heard of anyone asking for one to be kept in their cabin but will not hurt to ask.

The only reasonable reason to charge for pizza at Sorrentos is for those who special order a whole pizza or two to take away to their room or to the pool.

You know it is really deep when there is a Fuel Charge added to the cruise fare. Already have this charge on several services at home.
The only thing I have not seen in the list so far is an upcharge for playing in the Casino. Oh wait... they already take all my money.
