  1. Having sailed on Explorer and her sister ships, you should not have any issues with the storage space. Just finished a 9 day cruise on another cruise line (sorry Royal my son booked this one) and there were only three small thin drawers and small closet space with half taken up by the said drawers. And this was in a spacious cabin for 5 people! Fortunately the wife and I packed very little since I was restricted to one drawer. Can't wait until our next Royal cruise later this month where we will have ample room to store our goodies. Will never complain again about the storage space on our Royal ships.
  2. The seafood soup is really good and they will fix the fish plate any way you like, I like it blackened. The drinks are really up to you. They have a nice swim up bar in the pool that is in the shade.
  3. The wife and I will be on this one as well. Looking forward to sailing on Harmony after being on Allure many times.
  4. Maya Chan is closed June thru end of August when they make upgrades, get to go see family and time off. The other reason is the seaweed is really bad during this time and they are open to the sea and get quite a lot. We visit them all the time during the open season and David and Julie are fantastic hosts. Even met Mark (David's dad and owner) on our last trip who was there to repair the tractor. It is all inclusive including all the water toys, floats, etc. They will even bring you your drink out to you in the water.
  5. We always go to Tabyana Beach through the ship in Roatan for the snorkeling. They have food but you pay for the drinks which are not much. If you want all inclusive we have gone to Sol y Mar through the ship and the beach is shallow and easy for kids. It is easy but I prefer the snorkeling in West Bay. Use Costa Maya for the historical excursion. In Belize we loved the cave tubing and the food was excellent. Cozumel we go to Nachi Cocom for $59pp adult for all inclusive beach. You will have to pay for the taxi ($17 each way up to 4 people) but the food is great and the bartender will make your drinks any way you want. You book them direct https://cozumelnachicocom.com/
  6. We were in Puerto Plata this past week and the wife and I stayed in the port where they have a recreation area that is free. It has sand, seating, swimming pool and lazy river but no beach since it is in the port area. Only drawback is the cost of the drinks ($7/local beer). Our son and kids went snorkeling and had a great time. They took a cab for $20 each way and the driver took them to a great spot and then brought them back. She even gave them her name and number and told them she would give them an island tour for only $50 next time we were there. Did not make it to St Kitts or Barbados so cannot comment on those.
  7. We were at St Thomas this past week and we caught a truck/cab at the port to Magens Bay with other folks just as you get off for $12 each/each way. The entrance to the park is $5 pp. The water is amazing and we saw turtles, squid, stingrays and tons of fish. We snorkeled the entire day over the whole bay which is quite large. Did not have any problem getting back to port as the taxi's are all around and they go back and forth throughout the day. About a twenty minute ride and they drop you off at the shopping area right across from the ship entrance. We bring our own snorkel gear but you can rent it there at the beach. They also have food available. We got there as soon as we could and got a picnic bench under a tree for shade all day to the right of the entrance for my granddaughter who did not want to snorkel as much as her brother, dad or me.
  8. Eating in the port is quite limited. You can eat at the restaurant by the wrestling bar, across the pool at the other small restaurant or sit in the lounge chairs and they will bring you a menu and deliver it to you. They have expanded the port offerings with a "flow rider" and wave pool near the exit that looks interesting and they have food there also. We usually catch a taxi for $4 ea, go to the beach area and eat at Krazy Lobster. The food and drinks are good and the prices are reasonable. The massage for $20/hr is even better and get the ones from the older masseuses, they are terrific. Oh, and they have free WiFi!
  9. You did not copy the entire legend. There are three other legends that show occupancy for 3, 4 or 5 people. Here is the full clip: Without the asterisk - 2 people, with - 4 people.
  10. Nassau just opened their expanded terminal and if you just want to get off and grab a bite, a local drink and shop for some souvenirs then you do not have to leave the port area.
  11. Here is the contact information from the Royal Caribbean FAQ page. You need to contact either company and they will let you know.
  12. Wheelchair service at Pier 91 is at the entrance to the terminal. The pier will have personnel at the entrance so you can talk to them about getting one for your mother. From the Royal Caribbean FAQ page:
  13. The safety check-in will open on the app at 8:00am on sailing day. Complete the two sections, make sure they state "Complete" and turn green and then you are ready to visit your muster station when are aboard. If you have multiple people that are linked you can do their check-in (I did not say that) for them but they need to check on their phones that they have both sections state "Complete". We have had multiple instances where my wife played my videos for me on her phone while I was driving but when I checked on my phone the horn signal was not showing "Complete". Listened to it on my phone and all was good.
  14. Absolutely the first thing we do when we get on-board is go straight to the Schooner Bar and order a drink BEFORE we go and check in to our muster station. You never know, there might be a long line and we could need some hydration beverage.
  15. It does not matter. The porters and longshoremen do not segregate bags by tier level or purchased enhancements. When my wife took several of her friends, all the luggage tags showed the level of the lowest tier member even though we are D+. They all made it to the room at the same time. It is the enhancements on-board and at embarkation/disembarkation that the Key influences.
  16. Liberty OTS has dividers between balcony rooms that can be opened. Just talk to your stateroom steward and they can open it for you. They just need to check that each of the rooms include the same party. Do not want to upset folks by someone randomly wanting to expand their balcony and encroaching on others.
  17. Prior to the pandemic on Liberty we decorated 4 cupcakes apiece with our two grand kids and their parents. It was loads of fun but with 24 cupcakes, even our grand kids were overwhelmed. We stood out on the Promenade and passed out free cupcakes to whom ever wanted them.
  18. Airport transfers are not listed in the cruise planner and you need to call Royal and book them. We use them on most of our out of town sailings as it is just easier and less hassle. The exception is Ft Lauderdale which the airport is within seeing distance of the port so we take a cab.
  19. The other sad part of an overnight stay in Cozumel is that the port pretty much shuts down after 5pm and there is nothing open. The local restaurants close as well as the bars so unless you have a hotel room at a resort (won't happen) then you pretty much stay on the ship in the evenings. Even sadder is the Casino is shut down the whole time they are in port so no entertainment or free drinks there.
  20. Not really. Only if I wanted a really bad drink or just to see the "technology" in action would I go see the bionic bartender. The real thing is much more interesting and befriending the bartenders on the various ships we sail on has great consequences on the "strength" of the drinks. Northstar down will probably be a bigger miss than the bionic bar.
  21. Ours are almost to the top of the door. It is the "older" little ones that liberated the figures from the door.
  22. Will be on Allure again and looking forward to every minute. Just the wife and I living the dream.
  23. Will be our eighth cruise on Allure out of Galveston. Each one has been great and have found something new to do each time we are aboard. Have cruised on her with each of our grown sons (separately of course) and grand kids and decided to go on this one before she goes back to Florida and short cruises (what a waste). I'll be the wild one on the zip line flipping, hanging upside down driving the staff crazy.
