  1. Typically there is a 10:30 boarding time. 11 is still good and the crowd is usually down. You can keep checking back on the app for boarding times and if 10:30 pops up you can change it. We scored a 10:00am time once checking regularly, but it was on a smaller ship so less turn around time for disembarkation and cleaning.
  2. No MDR, but many different but themed restaurants with a menu that matches that theme and not served to the multitudes. Maybe they could divide the MDR into several themed eateries and you could reserve which one you want and the menu would still be restricted but you chose the restriction. OMG! What a concept.
  3. This is the MO we use. The wife stays up late, checks in on the app when it opens and secures the boarding time we want. If she feels awake she will scan the passport bar code and then leave the rest of it until later in the day on the website.
  4. The Cruise Compass shows open Pickleball play on port days in the morning. This should hold through the end of the year as this is a typical item. We will be on Allure Dec 4th and will check unless someone onboard this week sees this post and chimes in.
  5. Congratulations! We always heard how beautiful the Alaska sailing was but never wanted to pay the high airfare. Last summer we were offered an Alaska cruise on Ovation and on that particular date there was a bargain rate on the airfare ($200/ea). Needless to say we went and I highly recommend this trip to everyone. Each of the stops were fantastic, the scenery is unbelievable and we and my wife's two best friends thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
  6. On some of the ships, especially the Oasis class, you can early book the specialty dining as well as shows, etc. We have that already for our December 4th cruise on Allure and it sure makes it easy and lets us plan early.
  7. Yes, and you can use it with your D and D+ drink allotment.
  8. Never heard of them keeping beach toys to reuse. Typically anything left in the cabin goes to lost and found off ship and if not claimed the off-site company sells it. Could be a new revenue stream for Royal renting them out.
  9. North Covered lot is next to the terminal as you would expect. You can walk across the entrance street to the terminal. Figured they would place the coveted premier parking next to the terminal. Money buys you so much. Since I don't mind catching a shuttle we chose the indoor parking only a couple of streets away and they drop us off at the terminal entrance for less money.
  10. The wife has S&S all voyage with the Casino and two free days of Surf with her D+. The Voom folks showed her how to set it up where they both showed up on the login screen and she could choose which one she wanted. I borrow the S&S for work and she still has her other for her phone/tablet. Then we have my two days of D+ and we’re set for the cruise week.
  11. Surf and Surf + Stream are both still options with Starlink as of last week. Our Liberty voyage did not change on the options as we have both between me and the wife. It was nice to see Starlink listed on the login screen and the connections were much better.
  12. 5 days or less I only use my overhead roller bag and my backpack. Between the two I have more than enough room, but that is just me. Most my cruises are to warm climates and I live in swimwear, shorts, flip flops and tees.
  13. Our December 4th Allure reservations opened up this week. Went on the App and selected Entertainment in the filter and the shows were there. Was able to book the Ice show, Aqua show and Broadway show for the times we wanted. Great not to have to wait until we board.
  14. Thanks for the update. We get on Allure next month and were wondering as I typically work from the ship early mornings saving vacation time. Used it on Liberty last week and it was SOOO much better than the old Voom. Not the fastest but never had a problem. Before Starlink I always had an issue with my Teams conference calls and linking into my servers in the office.
  15. We did the same thing near the end of last year. The Casino asked us if we wanted to stay onboard for a B2B and we had reached Diamond points on the first leg. Made sure we would have the points added for the second sailing before we said yes and the second leg was much more enjoyable with the drinks and Lounge access.
  16. Yes there are, use them all the time. Will be back on Adventure in 20 days.
  17. If you are sailing from the US and vaccinated you do not need a proof of negative COVID test. On our cruise last week we only needed our set sail pass and passport or drivers license. Everything was scanned or uploaded in the app prior to sailing and they only scanned our set sail pass and verified that we had everything filled out. Easy peasy.
  18. Second on the Tabyana Beach resort. The snorkeling is amazing and only 30 yards off the beach. We will be there in December on Allure.
  19. It appears that the dollar figure at the top is your original payment MINUS your payment in July. However it does show $0 in the "Pay now" at the bottom. Sounds like a call to Royal is in order. Another example of the Royal database mistakes. They still have not gotten our information correct after 6 years even though we call them constantly and work through our Diamond and Casino contacts each cruise.
  20. No and No. The hallway is off the stair and elevator area and loops around the front of the ship. The walk way to get to the front of the ship is technically not in the Solarium proper and no one will hassle you about walking through.
