Apparently some lawyer in the US has said that its carnivals own fault and they should be held accountable, as both captain and pilot used to do this type of thing when they were children playing in the bathtub with rubber boats.

Of COURSE @twangster would have a balcony cabin on the correct side of the ship to catch this! Thanks for sharing!

First, people say they feel bad for the family, I no longer feel any sympathy for them, but I do for Chloe, what the final seconds of her life must of been like.

Watching the video, it appears that the grandfather held Chloe out of the window.  He is responsible for her death, no matter how the family or lawyers want to spin it.  If they want to help other children, admit guilt and tell parents/grandparents about what happened and to not ever put a child in that situation, I would definitely feel differently towards the family if they would have reacted in that manner.  Even if they were deeply in shock when this happened and were not thinking when they agreed to be represented by the attorney, they have now had a chance to realize the grandfather’s actions caused their daughter’s death, and speak on how to make sure it never happens again.  Instead of anger, they would have my sympathy if everyone would have admitted it was a horrible accident and we want to learn from this.

As it is now, Chloe will be remembered as the little girl who had parents that wanted to get rich off of her dying, instead of teaching us the risks involved when we don’t think before we act.

I’ve seen a few references around the web to his age, along with (not so) subtle hints that it may be a factor.

50 isn’t old and senile.  Seriously, it’s not.

Make sure you follow the liquids rule for bags you carryon and have to get screened by TSA. If you’ve got slip-on shoes, wear those while flying.

While I was on the Navigator for thanksgiving, I stood in the same area that the grandfather stood with his granddaughter, now I am 6'1, with my two feet firmly on the ground with my lower chest against the teak railing I looked over the window frame to the outside.  I felt uncomfortable, I wouldn't  put a bag, drink or anything (especially a young child) on that part of the ship. Very poor poor decision on the grandfathers part.  And shame on the family to use RCCL as the scape goat!  And of course this is my opinion.

I obviously don't know all the ins and outs on these types of issues but I noticed in your cruise docs that you have a TA.  Wouldn't it be better for you to contact your your TA and let them advise you as any changes will still have to done through them.  They may even have a client ready to fill the spot if it's a viable option.

The man is 51.... less than 10 years older than me and, I’m guessing, younger than many on this board. I absolutely do not consider 51 to be “elderly” or incapable of taking care of children, unless there are other mental or physiological conditions at play..

They usually will let you know.  Unless you're asking for specific higher-end vodka in the martini it will more than likely be completely covered with the package.
Another popular chocolatey drink is the mudslide which is almost like a frozen version of a chocolate martini.  For something extra special ask them to make the mudslide lava-flow style and they'll put some pureed strawberry on top and it tastes like a chocolate covered strawberry.
The specialty coffee location should also have some mocha drinks and some are even "spirited" which will also be included in your package.  Then there's also milkshakes from Johnny Rockets..but without the alcohol usually.

BunnyHutt reacted to Cez in Electric cars at Cape Liberty Cruise Port parking
I`ve carefully inspected multilevel garage and asked two different stuff member and the final answer is NO.  If you are driving Tesla, nearest supercharger in Kearny NY is ~ 10 miles /30 minutes away. Not very busy, plenty of stalls. Avoid Paramus - terrible. After 7 days of parking (mid November) my TM3 (with disabled sentry) lost 5% of charge, so that's great, however I wouldn't risk leaving unplugged EV during Jan/Feb. Unexpected cold snap (below -22 F) could damage your battery if unplugged for over 24h. Parking at Newark Airport with EV chargers is very expensive ($34/day + uber) and I was unable to find heated parking nearby.
I would like to encourage everyone to fill-up post cruise survey and mention/suggest/ask installing 20-30 110 V outlets and reserve those for EVs. That should be relatively inexpensive, solve our problem for good and give RCI/Cruise Port green vibe ?

Kudos to you all driving your EV’s long distances to reach port. I will happily take my gas-guzzling SUV and leave our other vehicle snug and warm in our garage at home. ?
But if I did choose to go that route, I’d probably find the closest supercharger and top off the battery prior to the cruise and head there immediately after, before heading home. Seems to me, keeping your car plugged in for several days at a public location is not only risky (Sentry mode will only record who did what to your car, it won’t stop them from doing it) but not much different than the behavior of the chair hogs so many people complain about...

I will just pipe in with the fact that you can ensure that you force a log off of a device by going to logoff.com while connected to royal wifi. It will kick off whatever device you are on to allow another to login. Sometimes just logging in on another device will kick the first one off, but in case it gives you an error, use the logoff.com method.

BunnyHutt reacted to JLMoran in Anthem Bahamas Review
I sailed Anthem last month, and the only real conflict we had was when we saw We Will Rock You for the 6:30 showing on the final sea day. That 100% conflicts with the 8 PM dining time, as the show is slightly over 2 hours long. But for that or any other show that will make you late, you can let your wait staff know you'll be arriving late that particular night and, as long as it's not more than about 30 minutes, they can accommodate you.
Apart from that, all of the shows on our sailings were typically shown twice so that you could catch it no matter your dining slot.

You're lucky i'm not in charge, i would ban smoking indoors (to include the casino) and make the only place for smoking, in the aft (designated section) upper decks.  If you get caught smoking in a non-authorized location, you would be dropped off at the next port.  I'm surprised that Royal Caribbean hasn't been sued yet, by an employee that has been diagnosed with cancer from second hand smoke due to improper ventilation in the casinos.
