I am happy to report, that we cancelled our May 31 cruise on April 20th (after RC cancelled all sailings through June), requested a refund not FCC, and today we have received almost our complete refund. We are a few hundred short, but so far 4 credits have been deposited to my card, with the largest being the full cruise fare. So, less than 30 days and we basically have our refund. I don't know if this makes a difference or not, but we booked with a TA and she handled the refund request.

30 Day Extension on Cancelled Cruises
Lovestotravel replied to shoreline's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We are May 31st, but I just don't know if it is going to happen. Even if they lift travel bans/restrictions, cruises are going to be the last places they will want people to congregate on. I just don't think C-19 will be eradicated enough for officials to take that risk. Don't get me wrong, we are hoping with all hope that we still get to go, I just don't know logically if it will happen. -
Royal Caribbean Suspends all US Operations

So, does anyone know what they will do with cancelled cruises? Full refund? FCC? Will we lose the deposit no matter what (no fault of our own)? -
Spending time in San Juan, Puerto Rico before/after Cruise
Lovestotravel replied to pnk's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We are in the same boat (no pun intended!) and have been wondering the same thing! Thanks for asking! -
I think this is super important to note, that "all GOOD TA's" should do this. We have TA (not an MEI agent), and I had to repeatedly reach out to her, to ask her to re-price when I would see others saving money on our fb group. Once she acted like it wasn't a thing. Finally after pushing her, she did it and saved us a few hundred. But, I am certain if I had another agent, we could have saved more. And, she only did it after me practically begging her to do it. She also didn't know how OBC worked. SOOOOO, I have learned a lesson! I will only use a TA in the future who comes recommended from this blog!!

Lovestotravel replied to Lovestotravel's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion

Thank-you for the info! If it is going to be used multiple times and pop up all over the place, I am going to work on getting a nice one! Ha! -
90-Day check-in benefit?
Lovestotravel replied to Lovestotravel's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
What head-shot photos? The same ones from our passports? Thanks! -
New to cruising. We just hit 90 days till our cruise (Yay!!). In my cruise planner it says we can "start the check in process" now. What exactly will happen checking in this early? Any pros/cons to doing it now? Anything I need to have available (passport etc) if I do check-in online? TIA!

Another Cruise Ship Denied Entry to Port
Lovestotravel replied to Lovestotravel's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
LOL! " "The MSC Meraviglia from MSC Cruises arrived in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, from Miami on Tuesday morning. After the ship’s command reported one case of influenza onboard, Jamaican authorities, concerned that the man might have the coronavirus, said no one could disembark. The ship left Ocho Rios for its next port of call, Georgetown, Cayman Islands, after waiting to be cleared for nearly four hours. The ship was expected to dock in Georgetown on Wednesday morning, but the Caymanian Ministry of Health and Public Health Department said on Tuesday night that it could not do so". -

NJCruisers Freedom of the Seas Nov 17th Recap
Lovestotravel replied to NJCruisers's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Thanks for this review @NJCruisers!! The hotel prices in SJ are CRAZY high, but I was just able to book with Condondo with our Hilton Honors as well. I got nervous after booking, because reviews on TripAdvisor are not great. I feel a bit relieved reading your review! -
I just booked. Got them both for $1300 total (which is still high), but the bonus is that I am able to fly out of my home city, where as all other flights of decent price were requiring us to drive 3 hours to the hub. So, won't have to leave my car nor pay for gas. I grabbed them, because I don't think they will decrease.

Disembarkation to San Juan International
Lovestotravel replied to Lovestotravel's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Thanks. Did you find Urber's were easy to grab at the port? That would be my only concern, that after customs we would have to wait a long time for a ride. -
If you have sailed on FOS, and disembarked in San Juan, how quickly were you able to disembark and get to the airport for a flight? Looking to book flights and wondering if a 10am flight is unreasonable. Flights to/from San Juan are NOT great in terms of selection and price....... ?

I was perusing through an older Cruise Compass for an upcoming cruise, and I see this statement re: gratuities We have already pre-paid our gratuities through our TA at booking. Will this be automatically removed from our SeaPass account, or will we have to show them our paid invoice? TIA!

Another Newbie question! (Re: OBC)
Lovestotravel replied to Lovestotravel's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Woohoo! I just logged in to my Cruise Planner and it has shown up! Thanks everyone! -
We have just learned we will have some OBC when we cruise in May. Can that only be used once we are on-board? Or, can we use it through Cruise Planner now? My TA said she *thinks* it is only once we board. I don't think she deals with cruises much (ugh), so I wanted to check with the experts! You guys!! If it is only on board, do we see it show up somehow once we get there? TIA! (And I get that it is called "On BOARD Credit", so probably it is only once we get on the ship, but double checking!).

Air-to-Sea and Airport Transfers
Lovestotravel replied to Lovestotravel's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Thanks all! You have been very helpful. And yes, @DublinFC, that is our experience. Our TA added our flights, and we have until our final payment to pay them off. I am going to ask her to run the rates one more time before we finally pay and lock in those flights. She said that was an option. Our flights are not cheap going in to San Juan, so would love to get them down a little.
