Wrong C&A level on luggage tags?
TXcruzer replied to Wheeler825's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Has no bearing on anything, and tags often have C&A status incorrect, especially if the occupants of the same room have different status -
Allure and Explorer amplification coming soon?
TXcruzer replied to Jamesszy94's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Not sure when you were on Oasis, but realize she is now 4 years+ post AMP; things get a little worn in that time. I was on one of the first cruises Post AMP, one of the last cruise pre lockdown, and the carpet was new (or new looking) and much of the furniture in public areas was new. -
Silly click-bait article This thought process is applicable to any ship

I am going to find a way to work the term “band aids and burnt hair” into a conversation; that’s awesome!

Annual Cruise Insurance Policy~Who do you use? Recommend?
TXcruzer replied to Neesa's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Well I went the website and dug around, it looks like the CFAR "upgrade" is offered only on single trip policies, not to an annual policy -
Annual Cruise Insurance Policy~Who do you use? Recommend?
TXcruzer replied to Neesa's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Wow! That could be a game changer in an annual policy. How much does it add to the premium? -

New service SOTS? Luggage taken to airport for us
TXcruzer replied to Eyeonhevn's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
It is called luggage valet and its not really new. It was a service offered on many ships from many ports. The service was a victim of the pandemic, but there have been reports of it making a resurgence in recent weeks. Its a very convenient offering, we took advantage of it often in the past. -
Harmony leaving Galveston, and Icon 3 coming in?
TXcruzer replied to Colin's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Have you ever seen the ships they built SPECIFICALLY fror the Chinese market? Icon and it's accoutrements are not at all what the "affluent consumer base" in China is looking for. You may want to check your "most affluent" claim. The Chinese government is doing everything in its power to prevent this very thing from happening. The Chinese government usually gets their way. -

Icon: Should the infinite family room be a suite?
TXcruzer replied to Lucky's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
But when you book on the Royal site they do not show you all the available rooms to book. They release them in blocks over time. -
A pot of coffee at your door every morning has nothing to do with the key, and is still free and readily available.

I am curious where you got the numbers for availability% -
EXPECTED %, yes is listed; one always has the option to do as one sees fit. I could care less what they expect, they will get what I feel they have earned.

"Adam Ruins Everything" really?? A satirical comedian is your argument? Sorry, in modern society (at least in the US) a gratuity is a reward for good service; it is something to strive to achieve.
-
With the exception of Virgin Voyages, name one direct competitor to Royal in the North American market that includes tips in the fare. Hint: There are none
-
Furthermore, let them know I have removed the auto gratuity. When someone knows they are working for a cash reward, I believe service improves. Where is the incentive to perform when you know you are already guaranteed a pre paid minimum? THIS is how gratuities are supposed to work.

In my experience, Airbnb fees have gotten to the point that it’s never a feasible economic proposition. -

TXcruzer replied to Neesa's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Generally speaking, CFAR coverage is not offered in an annual plan. -

My annual policy, for the last 5 years or so, has been with Trawick International Have had 2 small claims and was pleased with the process and resolution. The nice thing about most annual policies is they cover a myriad of things ANYTIME you are a set distance from home (mine is 100 miles)
