  1. We're headed back to Maya Chan next week! I could not care less about the seaweed. We had an amazing time last visit with the pool, cabanas, bar, and massages. We're arriving in port at 7 AM and departing at 3 PM. We'll make the most of the early day. I'll report back afterwards.

  2. Hi All. I'm interested in hearing the creative or unusual ways you've taken advantage of the UDP. We bought it for the first time for our upcoming transatlantic cruise on Symphony. Tons of sea days for specialty lunches!

I just listened to a Q&A with Matt where he mentioned stopping in Izumi and grabbing some sushi to go around 5ish, then going to a different restaurant for dinner later than evening. That's the kind of ingenuity about which I'm interested in hearing! Thanks in advance.

    From Dec 16, 2022.

However for a March 9 cruise I'm willing to bet you will see the majority if not all of these new perks on your cruise.

I'm thinking some ships may start doing this very soon.  The time between now and March 10 is really a window to ensure all ships are aware of, and fully implementing the new program benefits by March 10.  That's the deadline for ships to get with the program, but I suspect some will start earlier than March 10 and some will fully adopt the new perks well before March 10.

It all depends how the LA's are cycling back from vacation and training on the new perks.

If they said "starting tomorrow" some ships wouldn't have time to figure out the new perks and then guests would be upset.  By posting a future date it ensures all crew can iron out the wrinkles and misinterpretations by March 10.

Oh goody! Thank you for the explanation. I'm looking forward to those drink specials. 😉

  4. HI All,

Since I'm not seeing an option for dining packages on my Dec 30 Odyssey cruise, I'm making individual reservations. When I look at the Giovanni's menu featured on RCCL site, it shows prices for all the food items. However, I was charged like $45 per person when I booked. What's the deal? That's the Wine Bar menu, right? Is the dining room the more typical - all you care to order? Thanks in advance!

  5. HI All. My husband and 10-year old want to snorkel in these ports. I'm not in the best shape, but am perfectly capable of swimming. RCCL labels all snorkeling excursions as "strenuous" which is freaking me out a bit. Have you been on RCCL snorkel excursions? Did you feel they were strenuous? Any alternate suggestions for easy snorkeling? Many thanks!

  6. Hello All,

We're going for it with The Key on our upcoming SoS cruise, despite what anyone has had to say about it. I've read many of post about the moving target that is the listed benefits. What I want to know about is any unlisted benefits. The two I have heard so far are:

    1) Pool Towels Galore with no need to check out/check in

    2) A somewhat random mid-trip fruit basket or plate

Anyone done The Key and received a benefit never described in a RCCL missive?

    Thanks!

    Melanie

  7. We're head out this Saturday and have been reading about the seagrass invasion of the Yucatan Peninsula. We have a reservation at Maya Chan that I was sooooo excited about. Got a letter from the resort over the weekend warning about the seagrass and their inability to keep up. Do I cancel? Is there enough to do there if the beach is inaccessible? I really want to try it out, but it's rather expensive. Thank you!
