  1. We or really I decided against it. It was just too cold in February, water temp wise that I said next time we will go back in the summer where it'll be no doubt hot weather and warm water. I'm actually in the process of booking Bermuda late September into Oct. Now it may be cool weather there but that's ok because Bermuda has a lot of things to do. Coco Cay is water stuff and Coco Cay is the only focus. So we are on Liberty this Oct 9 nights Canada/NE. Then Liberty late May back to back Halifax and Bermuda cruises. Then Bermuda again last September into October. Then we reset and take a 2026 summer Coco Cay cruise that will cost more because it's summer. Also ironically Symphony is cheaper than Odyssey which I can't figure out why. Probably just book Symphony when those are released next year.
  2. This is pure curiosity purposes but if an Oasis class ship like Symphony we have here in NJ that does basically Coco Cay cruises where would a ship that big even go if there was a hurricane stopping it from going to The Bahamas? I mean it cat divert to Bermuda and not sure what ports it could go to in the New England/Canada area. Again just out of curiosity. This is from NJ of course I'm talking about.
  3. Awesome thanks. It's a really, really good price too. I put 200 bucks down with the future cruise thing when we were on Anthem a few weeks back. We have 3 on the books not paid off so it's just a matter of we want to take on another. Hint we probably in the end don't care.
  4. Thanks, perfect but a tad worried about hurricane season. I mean we have sailed many many times in hurricane season without a care really but missing Coco Cay is another level disappointment. Our first time to Coco Cay was mid August and holy cow was it hot. I mean I love hot weather but this was bit too much for even me.
  5. Oh wow I overlooked that part, peak hurricane season. We've done many time and make out fine but it's a concern for sure. Thanks.
  6. Both weather and ocean/pool temps? Thanks Matt.
  7. Thanks, just trying to weigh where to take another chance. Our first time to Coco Cay in August while absolutely brutally hot we had just about the most fun ever on a cruise. I mean well beyond my expectations which were kinda high. This time in February which we wanted to see what it was like in true winter and it was a bit too cold, the water that is. Weather was very nice. Just kinda don't want to make that mistake again. We still had much fun, Coco Cay is pure magic. I Googled water temps in Coco Cay in Oct and it said between 78 and 83 possible 85.
  8. Anyone that has been to Coco Cay in mid to late October can you tell me what the water temp of the ocean/pools/splashaway bay was? We went once in August and had a blast, then just a few weeks ago in February and while we had a blast again the water was very cold. Too cold for us that is for sure. Was it comfortable? Too cold? Perfect? I guess to a certain extent its a subjective thing, some like it cold, some warm, some super warm. Thanks.
  9. Oh my god I almost had a panic attack when I saw the first post about "not having cruises from that port". I would like some dates a bit further into 2026 also actually. We are booked on Liberty May 2025 on our first back to back cruises. Would like to book something later into 2026 also.
  10. Well thank you very much. That is exactly the kind of advice I was looking for! Maybe we'll just do the first excursion and then walk around the town to these museums. I love that idea, love that idea. Thank you very much for those suggestions.
  11. I hope you are correct. We sailed her last October and loved her, so much fun but she does need love and attention. We are sailing her again this October and then May 2025 too.
  12. While we are very sad we can't stop in Bar Harbor anymore and it looks like we never will we are excited to be going to a new port for us, Sydney Canada. We have a haunted Sydney historical walking tour just because we LOVE spooky stuff. It sounds like fun. We are looking at the Sydney History, color and culture excursion but haven't booked it just yet. In between those excursions we are gonna have lunch somewhere as we like to have a local lunch in most ports we visit. We are looking at Flavor on the water which looks really cool. I know there is a place right there at the pier I think Portside Beer garden but it'll probably be very busy and it we want a sit down inside kinda restaurant. So that is kinda our plan but any advice or suggestions would be great for those that have been there.
  13. I saw that, I actually watched that whole video and that was crazy. I was blown away by that and they said screw them and left the cruise midway through. That's insane too, don't blame them but that took some guts. I had no interest in MSC but now it's even lower than that.
  14. You can use any date but it has to be in the that age bracket. Royal it just asks how many kids up to 12. You did have to put in the actual birthday till you actually get to who is traveling part. Royal you can basically do the entire mock booking without that step. I just found it very cumbersome on the MSC website.
  15. I just hate to do a mock booking you had to put in the actual birthday of the kids. Instead of just 2 kids 2-11. I had to think about ok they'll be this old at the time of sailing and these are bdays. I find it really annoying. In the end I always use a TA but a mock booking is how I find the cruise at the price I like.
  16. It's really, really annoying right? I was getting so frustrated with it. Just to do a mock booking it was just ridiculous.
  17. Just for fun, just to check out prices I went on to the MSC website. Now i have no intention of sailing with them, Brooklyn alone is enough of a reason over Cape Liberty. But I hear how cheap the cruises are so why not look. The website is so bad I almost gave up 2 or 3 times. When you add kids they want the actual birth dates, and there are 3 categories, 0-1, 2-11 and 11-17. and then birth dates, like why? I could not get past this part because after several tries I noticed they want the full year, not just year-20 it wants 2020 or 2018. When you get the cabin you want they want more info. Its confusing annoying. I now appreciate Royal Caribbeans website much, much more. It was cheaper but not enough to deal with all that.
  18. Well the app and the website now have the same date, August 26th. Wonder if its the clocks going forward or something? I'm glad they are synched now though.
  19. The first thing you'll see when you go to your door if you keep it a secret is a happy birthday door decoration. My wife was surprised that's for sure.
  20. I did this very thing on our last cruise. My wife's birthday is Oct 19 and the cruise started on Oct 19. In the cruise planner I got the Birthday celebration package with chocolate cake. It comes with a lot of stuff for the money including chocolate covered strawberries. Awesome deal. The cake was freaking delicious. You can a vanilla cake if your wife isn't a chocolate freak like my wife. It was an awesome way to start the cruise. Longest secret I have ever had to keep for her. I never slipped in the year I had it booked.
  21. Wait you get use them on other cruises not just the one you bought it on? That I didn't know and that makes it more appealing. Unfortunately Liberty is our next 3 cruises and WOW bands wouldn't work on her.
  22. Actually I was right. Not too bad a price I think. I was actually going to one last week on Anthem but never got around to it, just to see how it worked. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-are-royal-caribbean-wow-bands
  23. I thought they were 9.99 but I could be wrong. I thought so though.
  24. They were available last week on Anthem so I'd imagine they are on Symphony.
  25. Wow, that's freaking interesting. My TA is great, he does monitor prices. On a few cruises they automatically dropped. I didn't even check, didn't even know the price has dropped and there it was. An email elert of a price drop.
