Just take some $1 or exchange them.
This was my 7th RC cruise and for most I've had the DDP. I know grats are already added but I decided after reading facebook and blogs like RCBlog to tip a few bucks when getting drinks.
This was helped by winning $20 with my free slot rolls 🙂
I have to say while you don't need to tip it really made a difference.
I get beer mostly so it didn't impact the alcohol level but the friendliness of the staff (they were always friendly before but the level of friendliness increased) and the speed at getting served was improved.
Perhaps not noticeable if you haven't tipped before but I definitely noticed it when the pool bars got busy.
I will definitely be tipping bar staff in the future. 🙂

Morganno got a reaction from Cory in Venice Port Location
There are two ways to get down.
    1) book a transfer from Venice city center with RC, busses leave at 9am and 11am day of sailing and take around 2h30min to get there.
    2) take the train to Ravenna from Venice then get a transfer to the port also through RC.
The bus with RC is more expensive but a safer option as you don't have to worry about train strikes or cancelled trains but the train is far cheaper.

We were lucky we went with GTY as it was 600€ cheaper for two inside cabins than pick your own €150pp.
We got Deck 9 on explorer with virtual balcony right next to each other.
I would have definitely called to see had I been given what I consider a "poor" cabin. Although I have to say any cabin on a cruise ship is better than no cruise.

Before the pandemic Royal regularly had a ship or two in the gulf visiting Oman and Dubai. Anyone heard of them going back there? I see two new ships coming on line next year. Hopefully this will free up some older ships for that part of the world.

Don't listen to Ryan, once you've been assigned you can call and asked to be moved to any other same category cabin available, as many times as you want.
I've done this several times, once I even got an "upgrade" without asking and without paying anything extra from an Inside to a Virtual Balcony but YMMV.

Not quite true as in the UK a person can legally drink alcohol at 16 however there are rules attached to this!
if you're 16 or 17 and accompanied by an adult, you can drink (but not buy) beer, wine or cider with a meal. If you're 16 or under, you may be able to go to a pub (or premises primarily used to sell alcohol) if you're accompanied by an adult

older smaller ships with less perks, in off peak times will also give you a chance at lower suite prices.

Definitely look for older/smaller ships, and off-peak times. I just did a quick look at sailings in Nov 2023 on Vision OTS from Baltimore and some of the sailings the JS is cheaper than a balcony.

what others have said about the older ships is my experience. Quantum, Oasis and icon class have the tiered suite perks (sea, sky, star). All the other ships don't and since they lack a coastal kitchen, don't include things like internet, all you really get is free room service and the MDR menu for room service in addition to a small suite lounge these suites on these ships seem to be cheapest. Cheapest I've ever gotten was an owners suite on Liberty for under 3k for two out of galveston. I've found the port matters as does amped ships, 3 day out of LA on Navigator in an OS in March cost me the same as a 7 day out of Galveston in January on Liberty. Alaska is a wild card as suites are about double even on older ships. Take a transatlantic or repositioning cruise, I'm paying the same for an 11 day translatlantic as a 7 day round trip, same port, same ship, same floor, same suite. Obviously the one way airfare across the pond blows out any savings but tat can get you 22 or 24 points as their TA's are 11 or 12 days.

Cruises in January tend to be less expensive - at least out of the US after New Years and when school is back in session. Sometimes there are on-board promotions for suites as well. My parents booked a junior suite during their last cruise at the Next Cruise desk and paid the same price for it as they would have for a balcony! Maybe they just got lucky though, IDK.

Also look for cruises between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Kids are in school and it is a down time for the industry, good sales then. Bonus the ship is decorated for the holidays.

I don't think the double points promotion was on anymore in January. I'm pretty sure you had to be booked by the end of September 2021 to qualify for double points. I'm pretty sure the sales rep at next cruise was incorrect which wouldn't be a shocker.

There is website somebody posted back in the summer https://www.cruiseplum.com/  that allows you to search on suites. It'll give you an idea (it won't give you the suite cabin type i.e grand vs aquatheatre) but you have the ship and date which you can then look up
