Yup..the UDP will cover the cover charge for you to get into JR. Just tell them all you want is a shake and that you have both the UDP and UBP. I'm sure they will appreciate not having to make a burger that you won't want to eat.
You get whatever you want off of the menu (except for a shake which is additional if you don't have the beverage package). They put down fries and onion rings for the table similar to a bread basket and you can order your sandwiches off the menu. They also have loaded fries that you can order..all included with the $9.95 per person cover charge. They even have desserts (ice cream, sundaes, and pie) which are included. Only thing that isn't is soda and the milkshakes/malts. You're probably looking at $5-$6 for the shake.

levy1980 reacted to DMLM in Kids eating Adult Menu??
My kids (b/g twins) starting cruising at around 3 years old and have now been on 10 cruises with Royal. My daughter stayed with the kids menu longer than my son and occasionally will order something from it (as a teenager). On the other hand, my son was so excited to try the adult menu and the variety of cuisine (around 7-9 yo) and loved it. He would order multiple items every night and try many different things. He always ate it and I could not believe how much he consumed.
My son always indicates that was one of the best memories he had when he had that opportunity and loves cruising ever since.

I tell my kids the menus are, to steal a movie line, "more like guidelines than actual rules." ? If they want the normal kids menu stuff, that's fine. But I always encourage them to at least take a look at the adult menu and try something new. On our last cruise, the youngest discovered she didn't completely hate escargot and, by the fourth night, our waiter knew to bring her an adult order of spaghetti bolognese every night.

Clarification, the pool is free but the chairs require the beverage or food.

Good for him! When our kids were young they wouldn't even venture anywhere away from chicken nuggets and fries (or mac & cheese) when we would go out to eat.
A cruise is really the perfect place for ANYONE to try new foods since it doesn't incur any additional costs like it would at a restaurant.

levy1980 reacted to AshleyDillo in Solarium Bistro Menu
I've seen them be the same and different. It really depends on which ship. The menus are very similar I think the dinner menu had the additional of a surf & turf upcharge item on it.

Interested in this too. Also if anyone knows if there is a vegetarian entree for dinner? Thanks.

Interesting question, now with the lifeguards I am sure they are much more strict. A few years back before lifeguards they would rotate shutting one and cleaning then open it and close the other....like what they do with the Jacuzzis.
The mini golf was 9pm on my last cruise that had it, they actually take the putters and balls and lock them away. I don't think the ping pong has a time, like the shuffle board.

Just looked at a cruise compass for Allure w/in last year and one pool was open every night till 11pm, on some nights a few others were open till 9pm in addition.
Sports deck was listed as open till 11pm every night. There are no separate listings for mini-golf or table tennis.
Hope that helps a little

Kind of growing up on cruise ships, my son has been adventurous since the age of 9 (ordering adult food) and as a college student has now acquired a taste for fine sushi. One never knows how a cruise experience will shape a child's life! Have a great cruise!

Yes, your child can order off the adult menu and you can order off the kids menu.

levy1980 reacted to raahc in Harmony of the Seas Main Dining Menus
Hello,
I know your post is from June, but hopefully this will help if you do see it ?
I will be on HOS in 2020 too. I just found the menus here: MDR menus
They are from delirium 98 (thank you). I also read the menus are the same fleet wide - they are subject to change.
Also, I went on the app (as other members mentioned here) and picked a similar sailing for HOS with a closer sailing date (pick one in August), and you can see the menus as well.
Getting hungry ?

levy1980 got a reaction from cruisestuff in Coco Cay Water Park feedback please
Looking for some feedback from anyone that has recently been to the water park at Coco Cay
How are the lines for the slides?
Don't want to buy a ticket and end up waiting around all day, my 9 year does not do waiting lol
Does anyone know if they have more than one boat on the island at a time? We are on Harmony and are at Cococay on October 21st

You should take a look at http://cruisemapper.com. I love Cruise Mapper because it shows you schedules for every port and ship, deck plans, rooms, ship tracker, and general info about each ship.
Looks like Harmony is the only ship docked in CocoCay! ?

levy1980 reacted to RTripp in Coco Cay Water Park
Hi levy1980, yep we sure did. HOTS arrived, i think at 8 , we were in by 10am. We had a Chill Island Cabana , checked into that & then four of us did 3 waterslides & were done by Noon. Thrill water park had large painted picnic tables with huge umbrellas, we set that as a home base in that part. Got too kiddie crowded & i had heard that food was only served till 1 or 130... we had no clocks on us..so headed for food and cabana / clamshell lounger & floating bar time. The longest waiting line for slides was the i guess i call it family round tube. It was a four person, no more than i think 500 pounds total. There was a scale we all jumped on to tell if we could fit, could not so had to break up into two round rafts. There was a total of three lines going up at the same time. Ask before you get too far into the wrong line. Far left line, hold nothing since your round tube is at the top. Middle line was long flat slide rafts you grab from bottom & trek upto top. Far right was double donuts rafts, you grab from bottom & drag up to top.

Never apologize for asking questions. That is what this forum is all about and guess what ? We were all "new" at some point !

levy1980 reacted to Ron Rico in Solarium Bistro
We went to the Solarium for dinner on HOS three weeks ago. It was good, but I remember it being better last year (but maybe it was because it was our first time there or I was hungrier - idk..). It was still a buffet for appetizers & desserts and a menu for the entrees. It is a different menu than what is offered in the MDR. I order grilled shrimp and they were really good and plentiful! There was also a flank (or was it skirt??) steak which was good along a salmon dish. Since there is no charge, I would encourage you to go and try it. ?

Yes, on the pool deck. If you're on an Oasis Class ship, it will be at the Aqua Theater.
Mostly, yes. In the evening you get less-juvenile films shown.

I like the sound of “booking amendments” rather than “repricing” I’ll have to add that to the list of Britishisms we Americans steal. Still not going for your version of Aluminum though ?
