I should probably stay out of this but I don't think "grammar shaming" somebody who is angry is anything except treating someone the way they said they've been treated already. If a mistake was made (and don't for a minute suggest that sometimes a large corporation and it's employees don't make mistakes--or are rude) why not just say so.
I like reading this blog because it was so nice to see everyone's positive outlook on cruising. All of you love to tout how much money you saved, and the value of the dollar, and saving up your pennies to go on cruises. It's nice to read--so when someone is upset they've lost a deposit I"m pretty sure all of you would be pissed off if you were out $500 in 24hrs for a clerical error on your part. Anger can get the best of us, as clearly at has gotten the best of you at this person with their vitriolic language. Direct them and help, don't criticize them for their opinion....it's always our behavior in bad times that is a great reflection of who we are, and admitting when we are wrong and moving on....

I saw your previous and first post. From your own admission, your blaming Royal fire a mistake you made and are now upset because they are adhering to their own policies. How is this Royal's fault and how does it warrant suggesting that others not book with them?

My suggestion would be you call back and ask you talk to a supervisor. If that doesn't work, write a letter to the CEO. That will be much more productive and is much more likely to solve your issues.

News reports out of Miami are reporting an Australian man "fell" overboard early this morning from Symphony of The Seas. The ship was reported to have been enroute to St. Thomas when the appx. 0300 incident occurred. There are claims that a body was observed being brought on board from a dispatched lifeboat. I'm sure more info will be forthcoming. ☹️

Whoa. She needs a new travel agent. My guess is they charged her a fee to book it as well ?  (My travel agent emailed me and told me to log on and get the $18/day price when it was available! - I had already gotten it, but dang -she's my girl 4 life now!)

I was discussing my upcoming cruise with a coworker today. She informed me that she was going on a RCCL cruise next May. Being curious I asked her if she got the $18 dollar drink deal. This is what blew me away. She told me their travel agent told them they can’t book anything until onboard ship. I told her about cruise planner and how to sign in.

Put it in your CARRY ON luggage that you board the ship with.  Do not put it in the checked in luggage or you will find yourself on Deck 0 waiting in a long line of people to claim your bag because it was pulled aside for having wine bottles in it (they cant tell the difference so they pull it aside).  It will be a lousy start to your trip so pack the 2 bottles in your carryon.  Yes its heavy but will save a lot of frustration.

On Grandeur --- Vision Class ..... I picked a room that, at the time, I didn't realize, was right under the Centrum and the R Bar ...... to my surprise, it was generally quiet, we could faintly hear the music from above, but that ended at 11:00, so there were no issues.  In fact, we've been in the same cabin 3 years in a row with a fourth one coming.

The lines for the slides are really only for three slides:
Daredevil's Peak Slingshot Drop slides The rest of the slides usually have short to no wait.
I think your 9 year old will be quite happy with the less-demanding slides, along with Adventure Park (the pool with all the obstacles) and the wave pool. My 8 year old loved the two pool options.

Harmony will most likely be the only ship in port.  I was there on Navigator and Grandeur was also there so about the same number of passengers.
Daredevils Peak and the Sling Shot had the longest lines.  They quickly grew to an hour.  @Matt posted that recently you can sign up for a reserved time for Daredevils peak similar to a fast pass but that wasn't there for me.  The other slides had a 10-20 minute wait until lunch time.  After lunch the lines to everything had a significantly less wait time.  At 3 we walked up to Daredevils peak and waited for 10 minutes and walked on to many other slides.
There's a lot more to do besides the slides.  We went in the wave pool and obstacle course in the morning when the lines were at their peak and enjoyed the slides more in the afternoon with very little wait.

Looking for some feedback from anyone that has recently been to the water park at Coco Cay
How are the lines for the slides?
Don't want to buy a ticket and end up waiting around all day, my 9 year does not do waiting lol
Does anyone know if they have more than one boat on the island at a time? We are on Harmony and are at Cococay on October 21st

cruisestuff reacted to twangster in What does ICON Class mean for us?
Beyond it being a new class of ship with unknown new activities the environmental aspects represent a ongoing trend towards less pollution being generated.
Symphony is 20% more efficient compared to her sisters.  That reduces emissions and lowers operating costs over the lifecycle of the ship.
I haven’t looked at the numbers involved with LNG but a significant aspect of LNG is much lower emissions.
At some point in the future all ships will be required to further reduce emissions,  50 or 100 years from now will look very different from today.  Icon is a step in that direction.
Quite frankly any reduction in operating costs is passed onto cruisers.  It’s very competitive and they need to contain operating costs to continue to offer affordable vacation choices for the masses.  They can’t afford to return to the days when only affluent people could cruise.

I am a long time follower on here and this is my first time posting but I thought this was interesting, I just received an email saying

    Dear Valued Guest,
We are inviting a select group of guests to participate in a survey from Royal Caribbean!
We deeply value your feedback and would love to learn more about you and hear your thoughts on cruising. It's our goal to continue to exceed the expectations of guests just like you, so we hope you'll make your opinion count.
This survey will take no more than 5 minutes to complete and we thank you for your time.

It went on to talk about cruise history and what ports I have been to, which ports I liked better and for what reason. One of the ports that they started going into more detailed questions was about Falmouth Jamaica. I had been there one time and I had no excursions I just kind of walked around the port and then went back on the ship. The questions were, would you be interested in visiting a beach club that was for Royal Caribbean guests only? what would your top 5 things be available at the beach club, and it gave a list of about 15-20 items. With many more questions relating to that. One of the Final questions was very specific in asking. What would you expect to get for a Royal Caribbean guest only beach club in Falmouth Jamaica for $39.99? and again it asked you to pick 5 things from a list of 15-20.

I am not as experienced in cruising as a lot of people on here, like I said earlier this is only my first ever post. I just thought this was interesting and it very well may have nothing to do with anything but it was very specific that maybe Royal is thinking about adding a beach club to Falmouth Jamaica and was wondering how many people would book it.
Did anyone else get this email as well?

    Thank you,
    Neil

They are trying to slow down the complete toristification of Venice. The permanent population is declining as more people put their apartments and homes on AirBnB year round. Add to that more and more tours and cruises and you can see why they want to try the slow the hoards. Other attractions can limit numbers by increasing prices or limiting ticket sales but it is a lot harder to do for a whole city.

You should take a look at http://cruisemapper.com. I love Cruise Mapper because it shows you schedules for every port and ship, deck plans, rooms, ship tracker, and general info about each ship.
Looks like Harmony is the only ship docked in CocoCay! ?
