MDR staff work in other venues, such as Windjammer. I wouldn't change default gratuities.

I think it also depends on the cruise director.
Prior to covid Royal had excellent cruise directors who really love the job.  Post covid there have been cruises where I've had to ask myself how did this person become the cruise director they are horrible at this job.  Cruise director in my opinion is one of the most important jobs on the ship and I get the job can become monotonous week in and week out but excellent cruise directors first and foremost really love their job and know how to keep it fresh every cruise.  While cruise directors who are just biding time waiting for the next opportunity to move up the corporate ladder can at time allow things to run stale and it comes across in activities, their morning show even just seeing the cruise director around the ship you can tell the ones who absolutely love their job vs the ones who are just there waiting for their next opportunity.
In my opinion its not just the love and marriage game show its also shows like The Quest which is now the Crazy Quest.  I know early on in the cruise whether or not I'm going to The Quest and it all depends on the vibe I get from the cruise director on day 1, day 2 of the cruise.

We agree and think they try too hard to be dirty without really being dirty and then the couples try to push the limits further to win.  We totally get that it’s an “adult show”, but you can still, have adult themes without being dirty.  Most times it’s just not funny or enjoyable to us.

we also get annoyed that the comedians in the comedy club are adult only and cuss like a sailor,, but then do a family show in the main theater.  Why can’t they just always be family friendly.  We’re big comedy fans and you can be funny without all that.

Last cruise our Cruise Director wasn't very good and seemed to lack entertainment talent. That was a surprise to us.

Interesting question.   Traditionally L & M was featured in the main theater at night during the latter part of cruise.   Seems like last 2 cruises I've been on  they scheduled it for 2:30 pm in the theater.   We usually attend but did not because.......2:30 pm is prime pool, solarium, or nap time.  At least for us.

I wouldn't waste money on the Key as your time isn't bad and an hour or two on day 1 isn't worth the cost. There is far too much emphasis on being the first to board. I think vacations should be relaxing, so I hate to see anxiety about boarding times. Just a thought as I think of poolside music. .

As a comparison, we were in Tahiti recently and paid 150 each to stay at a Hilton with coffee, snacks, and pool privileges. We had about 7 hours in comfort instead of standing in line at airport in 80 degree heat. So there can be value to this Royal option. (Our other cruise line didn't offer the stay awhile option.)

If it’s a closed loop US based cruise you should be fine. I cruise all the time with my step son with no consent form filled out by his dad. Both his mom and I have different last names than he does. If it’s not a closed loop US based cruise, yes consent form from dad will be a very good idea!

I'm on Freedom the week before and Giovanni's kitchen and wine bar is also on Freedom. As mentioned above no veal or filet for the entree just about every thing else is the same.

ChessE4 reacted to RumRunner01 in We have the Key - do I still need to reserve an early check in spot?
We have The Key for our Wonder sailing departing Sunday. When I did online check in weeks ago the earliest slot I could get was 12:30 boarding. A couple days ago we got an email stating Key holders should board no later than noon, preferably by 11:30, to enjoy lunch. We’re going to plan to get to the dock around 11 and see if we can board. There’s supposed to be signage for Key priority access.

Room selection is a good reason to use a travel agent, as already suggested. A TA can read deck plans that show which rooms are Pullman, which you state you want to avoid.

We bought a specialty meal for a September cruise. For our 2025 cruises only packages are currently available. It takes awhile for cruise planner to be fully populated. I would check back later, or consider using BOGO offer when onboard.

AIr2Sea doesn't change flights. The airlines do.  If the flight is paid, then you'd be subject to the change rules of the airline (specific to airline-initiated changes).   The airline will usually let you change the flight for free if they changed your itinerary to a flight over a certain amount of time earlier or later.   Since the flight is fully ticketed, I'd see if you can change the flight directly through the airline's website.

If you can't, call back to Air2Sea and get a different agent who might be more familiar with how to handle this.

Yes, overpriced, and not the authentic island according to other posts. Coco Cay is a beach day, and a normal beach for free, no parking, is a great deal!

The default answer, if you have tried the normal process, is to contact an executive. Their emails have been published elsewhere and by cruise consumer advocates. I'd suggest being brief and to the point. (How did Royal err and what remedy do you seek?)

Ok, but many entities use my SSN number, it doesn't mean I am going to provide it to another company if it isn't necessary. Why do I want RC to have my biometric information stored in their database. It's just one more opportunity for that data to be stolen and used for who knows what. Me personally, i try to limit my exposure as much as possible.
