  1. You can buy a lot of Tshirts and refrigerator magnets with $1200
  2. But make sure it's a certified copy of the license not a copy off the printer.
  3. Don't gamble? If you are in the stock market then you are in the biggest legal gambling scheme there is.
  4. Once she discovers the kids pool area you won't be able to drag her away with a team of Clydesdales. Of all the cruises I've been on the kids seem to have the most fun there. If your aren't familiar with the sun in the Caribbean, it it a different sun. You can fry easily. Bring a lot of sunscreen for the little one and reapply often. I can promise you that you and your little girl will have a wonderful time. Remember you are on vacation, relax and don't try to do it all.
  5. Lived in Fl all my life so I guess I'm used to it. There is a new invention call air conditioning. Every car, business, and home have it. We live inland some so the hurricanes (when and if they hit} are usually not as strong as on the coast. If you invest in a whole house generator you have beat the hurricane thingie by about 90%. It's all about how you are prepared.
  6. We were parked next to the Mardi Gras in Nassau in Dec. The Diamond Concierge was telling us that the roller coaster ride on the ship cost like $15 a ride. Not sure if that was for everyone or certain guests get reduced rate/free rides. The ship looked nice but I'm not a big Carnival fan. It has been many moons since I was on Carnival so things have probably gotten better.
  7. Another first is to make sure you have the correct paperwork with you for check in. A passport is ideal, if no passport then you will need a CERTIFIED copy of your birth certificate (no copies from your computer printer). If you have a name change, like marriage, then you will also need a certified copy of the marriage license to show your legal name change. The combo of birth certificate and marriage license must match the name you gave when signing up for the cruise (the name Royal Caribbean has on their manifest) Not trying to scare you but this is important for getting on the ship. Then of course you will need to have your vaccine cards with your covid test results
  8. Number one on the list is to get to the port at least a day early. If there is a flight delay or your driving and car breaks down etc the ship will not wait for you. So start looking into a hotel reservation now. What kind of cabin your in will help with advice from this board. I'm sure you will get some excellent advice from this blog.
  9. I was speaking the back of the ship relative to deck 17. We try to get cabins close to the elevators. The last time we were in a CLS was near the elevator so looking at the walk from the elevators to the back of deck 17 seemed like it went forever.
  10. On our Indy cruise in Dec the casino wasn't as crowded as usual, probably due to the ship running at 68% capacity. Everyone were wearing mask by the 2nd night. The first night masks were not required because the casino was vaccinated only. The second night it changed to mask required. I play blackjack but I'm not there thinking I will break the casino so I usually play the minimum bet. The minimum bets went up to $15 so I didn't get to play as long as I have in the past.
  11. We got our Royal Up email on Jan 3 for our Apr 3rd sailing on the Harmony,. I would like to bid on a Loft Suite from our Grand Suite but I don't want to chance getting a cabin at the back of the ship and have to make that long walk multiple times a day.
  12. We also use Jacki and she has been great!
  13. I sailed last month and used a CVS rapid test. Had no problems!
  14. Dec 17th Independence 3 day cruise out of Port Canaveral was night 2. Did not see many people dressed up but then again dressed up for me is blue jeans and a button up shirt.
  15. We were on the Independence 2 weekends ago and we had two RC mask in our room when we got there. We were in a GS so not sure if that was suite guests or everyone got one. We didn't see many of the RC mask around the ship so I don't know it people might have been saving them for souvenirs. They came in a thin sealed plastic package and I ripped mine open before I realized what it was. I saw only one time the mask wearing was enforced. It was at the blackjack table but other than that everyone seemed to be wearing their mask. Not sure about the coke thingie We live in Fl so we drive to the port. Stay at the Hampton Inn close by and left the hotel about 10am for a 1130 ck in time. We used the parking garage for the first time ever and it was pretty simple. Dropped off luggage at the parking garage, parked and was in the waiting area 15 minutes later. On the ship by 1115.
  16. Also make sure the chain of documents (marriage certificate) is a copy from courthouse or county clerks office that will have an official stamp on the document.
  17. Like ChrisK said, you are the one that's paying for the vacation, not the ones that turn their nose up because you are not dressed to their standard. Most nights I dress in long pants (jeans) and a button up shirt (mostly to keep the wife happy) You will see everything from shorts, flip flops and tee shirts to Tuxedos. Your on vacation, dress like you want!
  18. Tie a rope and chain to your Invicta and use it for a boat anchor!
  19. Not only tag everything but put photo copies of your passport, drivers license and cruise schedule in your bags. If they find your lost baggage and they don't have tags your bags will be opened to find out who they belong to.
  20. We did the CLS on the Oasis and it does have the wow factor. The stairs get old after a while so we made extra sure we had everything we needed before we left the room so we didn't have the unnecessary stair climb. I believe the rooms near the elevator are better since it is short walk to CC and suite lounge. Looking down that long hall to the rooms on the back of the ship made the rooms near the elevator even better. The huge shower on the Oasis CLS is great! I'm no spring chicken anymore so I would probably take the OS now.
  21. Started out with simple balconey rooms then made the plunge to a Jr. suite. Stayed in JSs for a while then moved to a Loft suite when we got a great deal on the move up. We haven't looked back since. I guess we use the old saying about you only live once and you can't take your money to the grave. So we enjoy it while we can.
  22. I try to bring shirts (pocket Ts) with a top pocket. I haven't lost one yet.
  23. I signed up for this cruise months ago. Didn't know it was a group cruise.
  24. About 6 months ago I got frustrated with my long time agent and changed to MEI. I have been using Jacki York and it has worked out great. She has been a big help! Got us and my three daughters with their families set up on a cruise and My wife and I on another cruise.
