  1. I can tell you what would happen if that was me 40,000 feet above the Atlantic..My wife would have told them to shove me out the door I have a cruise to go on!
  2. We have been Diamond members on two cruises now both on Voyager class ships. On these ships you needed to be in the Diamond lounge much earlier than 5pm(happy hour?)to get a seat. Not sure how much bigger the Diamond Lounge is on the Oasis class ships but I would think you need to get there early also. We are going on the Oasis in June so I will find out for myself but let us know how it goes Thanks ...Mike
  3. RC used to let you cash a personal check at guest services up to $200. I did it one time along time ago so I m not sure they still do it
  4. Documentation is probably the most important thing here. It can make a difference on getting on the ship or watching it sail off from the pier. Not trying to scare you but it is vital that your paperwork is correct. If you dont have passports then make sure your birth certificates have an official stamp or raised seal. Dont bring photo copies or copies from a printer. If your name on your birth certificate is different from your current name have the official documents to back it , marriage certificate etc. Have a good time, I know you will. Mike
  5. It has been quite awhile since I was in Key West so I dont know if it still exist but you might try the Mel Fisher sunken treasure museum.
  6. Great! I hope everything turns out good
  7. Hey Doc....thanks.....this is the first RC cruise I have been on that I can honestly say I wouldnt do it again. Way too may little things going south that added up to a not so good cruise. We went on a 12 day Med cruise on the Mariner about 4 yrs ago and it was great so maybe my expectations were too high. So I will let the storm settle and look at it again later and maybe I will see it in a different light. If you havent been to the Baltics and need any tips on things let me know
  8. I just got back last month on a 12 day Baltic Sea cruise on the Navigator. We had three formal nights and this was the first cruise they did not offer lobster. Maybe it was a European thing. It was a big disappointment.
  9. Keep the magnets away from your sea pass card!
  10. Remember to keep the magnets away from your sea pass card!
  11. Sailed on the Navigator out of New Orleans a few years ago and it was great! I am leaving out of Southhampton June 16th on a Baltic cruise so I would recommend the Navigator.
  12. I tend to agree with your TA but you know what they say about opinions. If you can get one of the bigger ships (Voyager class and above) for a short cruise I would do that. I live in Fl so I can drive to the ports so it makes it easier. I wouldnt go on anything shorter than a 5 day cruise because it seems like on the short cruises you are barely unpacked and the cruise is over. What ever you decide, have a good time and remember you can never have too much fun.
  13. Same as all the above, I never had any problem with any of my suitcases fitting under my bed.
  14. There is one other thing you need to be aware of. Since you will be in the Caribbean, most of your port stops serve alcohol to anyone that looks close to being an adult. Your two 17 year olds need to be aware that the ship will not wait for them if they are late coming back. We have seen it on many of our Cozumel trips where someone is knee crawling back after too many shots of Tequila (ta kill ya). Not trying to prejudge your son or his friend but keep this in mind....but most of all ,,,,Have fun!
  15. Thanks Tony....you might be right and I m just getting worked up over nothing! I guess your a Noles fan so Go Noles!...Mike
  16. Thanks.....after reading what Doc suggested and your reply I think we will just take a picture of her wearing the rings with a dated newspaper beside them
  17. Great idea Doc! Leaving on Air France out of Atlanta so I m checking to see what they have!
  18. Thanks....not sure we want to take a chance with her nicer jewelry
  19. Thanks Doc, we may have already waited too long since we leave for our Baltics cruise June 11th. She may have to forgo taking her nicer stuff this time.
  20. My wife usually likes to take some nice jewelry on our cruises. On the return going through customs and the agent ask about the rings on her fingers, is the burden of proof on my wife to show where and when she purchased them or on customs to show if she just purchased them on the cruise? This has never happened on any of our cruises but after seeing the discussion on Rolex watches this has got me to wondering.
  21. We have been on about 12 cruises and always carry our daily meds in a pill tray. Customs has never questioned it yet but by the time the cruise is over the pill tray is empty. We also carrry a wide spectrum antibiotic and a mild prescription pain killer to use in an emergency but they are in the original labeled bottles. I think Monorailmedic is correct, they are looking for the large amounts of drugs someone is trying to sneak in.
  22. Thanks Doc but we have already signed up for the Russia excursions. I will let you know how things go when we get back.
