If they're in the water, they need a place to come back to. This is allowed. It's the "I'll put a towel here now so when I want the chair in six hours it will be there for me" folks that are the problem.

We always do specialty restaurant on embarkation just because it's so much relaxing and quiet. It's worth the few extra bucks to me. 

Why do people drop in just to complain and tell us how they will not cruise RCL.  I would not mind if they were here for help or sharing wisdom but the popcorn, really?  When I was on the ship, I went over to get some popcorn and seen there was a charge and made a decision that I did not want popcorn enough to pay for it.  As far as the bill,  
You can see your bill on the TV in your cabin. You can see your bill on the RCL app. You can stop by customer service anytime and get a copy of your bill. I watch my bill every day and make sure I am not charged for something I should not.  if there is an issue, I call the ships customer service and they fix it.

They always did for us on both Independence and Liberty, I assumed that was the standard. And Park Cafe limited us to 2 slices each time we went up on both Grandeur and Enchantment, so I figured it was a thing. We can go back as many times as we want, but always only would give 2 slices per person. 

The survey asking if we will pay money for Sorentos made me think why to stop there. Here some more creative ideas for RCL:
Weight the plates in the WJ and pay by the pound. 
Want Emuster ? Pay extra otherwise you are back to the regular crowded muster.
All cabin doors to be removed , want privacy ? It's extra, diamonds will get free transparent shower  curtains,  D+ will get free transparent door and pineapples will get a real door but without a latch.
Quest challenge lidt can be purchased the day before , same for Love and Marriage. 
Tender boat tickets will cost money,  people will be able to swim to port for free. 
For dinner time you can choose between 5 to 5:15 PM , want another slot ? It's extra.
Extra charge the comedy show if you don't want to be the star of the show.
Jacuzzi will be coin operated,  the good news, you can use your key to charge it to you room.
The flowrider will still be free you just need to pay if you want it filed with water.
At the end of the cruise at the exit you will need to be weight , every extra pound you gain during the cruise will be charged. 
Charge 4500$ for a 7 hour use of the over the water cabanas , oh wait ...

No need for a middle ground.  Current ground has it free for all of the hours it is open.

I highly recommend Chops for lunch on boarding day! Book it ahead of time and save a few bucks, but it is SO relaxing and a great meal to kick off the trip - AND - you don't have to fight the crowds at Windjammer. And then pick a day for lunch at Giovanni's. I have never had an issue getting reservations for anywhere other than Teppanyaki, and for that one we plan ahead and pre-book before we cruise.

keep it short and sweet with dates (names if any) and brief statements. I do t see the need for your appointments with DPS, it muddles the point of your complaint and makes it difficult to understand why it is mentioned. 
 
finish with your reasonable expectation as to what you feel should occur based on your complaint.  (Ex full refund or future cruise credit equal to the cost of your cruise-or if you be willing to accept either.) BTW Royal cannot keep port fees and taxes so expect a refund.
 

Please don't do this. The pass is tied to your sea pass card, and your photo will display on the screen when they scan the card. If you get caught the package could be revoked without a refund. I recommend swapping your dad and girl friend on the reservation, and then you both get the package and she won't have to if she's in a cabin by herself.

We only pre pay the gratuities because we like to start the cruise with a clean slate but otherwise it's no savings

If you have more than just soda package @Donnax4, I wouldn't bring any.  Just ask for a bottle of water with every drink and stock your cabin cooler.  If it is the soda only, your plan sounds perfect.

No expectation to tip beyond the included 18% gratuity.  
It is however, appreciated when or if you do.  

As you said, you paid the tip when you ordered the package, so I don't think there is a strong expectation that you tip again.  Having said that, consider carrying some ones to tip individual servers as a way of getting better service.

I have never, ever had trouble getting a spot in a specialty restaurant (other than Teppanyaki) at lunchtime. And yes, you can 100% make a reservation the night before, or even the morning of using the app.

Perhaps you can cruise with your birth certificate and driver's license instead of the passport? You don't say where you are cruising out of - if it is a closed loop cruise out of US port, that might be your only option.  I imagine you sent a copy of your birth certificate to the passport office, can you order another one online and pick it up?
