@SteveinSC  1. I like cruising because it is a mobile hotel....how awesome to have a home for a period of time to take you to places that are possibly better than your real home. Also as a slight DDP-er..dooms day prep-er, I swear I am not crazy I just watched a lot of zombie/apocalypse stuff and know how I would survive....I am super in love with boats. Like my dream is to retire on a boat. Also there is food and other stuff like shows that may or may not involve humans dressed up like felines, scooting across the stage.
    2. If i could go on a cruise right now I would want to go Celtic and like maybe Nav or Mariner....I am a huge Scotland and Ireland person....like Highlanders and sheep are me peeps. How can you not love a kilt?? But bucket list I would go Ovation and Australia/New Zealand or Alaska

I have a buy order in at $39.  I keep spreading rumors and gossip but so far the stock is holding in the 80s.  Might need to fuel some more anti-cruise sentiment to achieve my target price.  Standby.

On our recent Anthem of the Seas cruise we made a nifty DIY door decoration with our name on it.  (Wooden anchor we spray painted red and embellished with white letters spelling out our last name, then glued on magnets to the back of it.)  I hung it above the peephole just incase a little person walking by was tempted to touch it.  Someone took it on the first day during sailaway!  We walked up and down the passageways near our room in case it was a prank and someone put it on a different door.  No luck.  It was really gone!.  We mentioned this to our stateroom attendant who notified the head of housekeeping.  They told us that Security could probably get it back for us because there are cameras every where in the hallways.  We went down to guest services to fill out a request and were interviewed by security.  By the next morning we had a message on our phone that our item had been retrieved.  It had not been damaged.  Hurrah!  (Not sure who would want an anchor with our names on it!)

IMHO,  Cruise massages are over priced and overrated.  And you are taxed a large gratuity.   Also, I have always found that a few hours after a massage I am really sore and don't want to spend my ship time that way.   My best friend and I have taken to going to a day spa after we return from the cruise and we just search for the best local deal (She's in Miami).   We use that to jump start our detox after a week of indulgence!

Phones are almost always dual voltage so you will be able to use the Euro adapter for these devices.  Curling irons are sometimes dual voltage but hair dryers almost never are.  If you plug MOST American hair dryers into a Euro converter and it is NOT dual voltage, it will burn up your device.  Just be sure that your devices will be compatible with a converter.

OK... we've only been on 5 cruises to date, but here we go!
    --Sailed alone (Not yet.)
--Sailed with a sweetheart/spouse (Yes, every cruise with my wife... our honeymoon cruise on Disney Wonder was our first cruise ever and when we caught the bug!)
--Sailed with other family members (Yes, sailed Explorer and Liberty with family.)
--Done a repositioning cruise (Not yet.)
--Missed a port call because of weather (Not yet.)
--Had your port of disembarkation changed because of weather (Not yet.)
--Sailed in or out of a port in your home town (Yes, if you consider Cape Liberty, NJ... 2 cruises so far with this upcoming May being the 3rd on Oasis.)
--Sailed in or out of a port in foreign country (Not yet.)
--Gotten sick on a cruise (Yes, our second cruise, on Majesty... both my wife and I got a nasty head/sinus cold. Fortunately, we have never been seasick.)
--Ate at the midnight buffet (Can't remember if Disney offered it back in 2010, but Royal stopped doing that by the time we started cruising RC.)
--Had formal tea on a sea day (Not yet.)
--Visited a cruise line's private island (Yes, Castaway Cay, Labadee, and Coco Cay - pre Perfect Day!)
--Toured the ship's galley (Not yet, but tempted to book it this May on Oasis.)
--Toured the bridge (Not yet, but want to!)
--Had a wardrobe malfunction on board (Not yet.)

Only two cruises under my belt so far - April, 1998 honeymoon on Nordic Empress (its name at the time) from San Juan to the US VI's, and April, 2019 with extended family on Allure from Miami to Nassau, Coz, Costa Maya, and Roatan.  Here's what I've done from @SweetHomeLady's list....
--Sailed with a sweetheart/spouse - spouse both times
--Sailed with other family members - spouse, in-laws and children in 2019
--Sailed in or out of a port in foreign country - not really, since San Juan is a US territory, but felt like it ?
--Toured the ship's galley - yes in 2019
--Had a wardrobe malfunction on board - sort of in 2019.  My formal dress had a long, somewhat fitted skirt with a slit up the back.  My spiky high heels kept getting caught in the hem at the bottom of the slit while I walked, so the back of my skirt would follow my leg back and forth, tugging it down.  I don't know if anyone else noticed, but it was a major pain (or tug) in the ass to me.  Very annoying.
    ....From @JLMoran's list...
--Dined in a specialty restaurant on board - Hibachi
--Gotten seasick - not on the cruise ship, but on a deep sea fishing excursion from Costa Maya on one of those little fishing boats.  We did trolling where the boat keeps moving with the lines cast, and when my teenage son caught an 18-lb barracuda, I stood up to get video from my cell phone while he reeled it in.  Apparently rocking on a boat over ocean waves while concentrating my eyes on my cell phone doesn't work well for me.  I got the video, but was losing my lunch over the side a few minutes later. ?
....and extras from my own list....
--Got selected to be on stage for the Not-So-Newly-Wed game on my 1998 honeymoon cruise, and won!!!!  We also got ship-famous for the duration of the cruise for our answer to the question, "What's the most interesting place you ever did the deed?" "The lobby of a hospital!!"  The game played on the ship TV on repeat for days, and people all over the ship recognized us and wanted more details. LOL
--Held a sloth, monkey and iguana - 2019 cruise in Roatan
--Planned a cruise for other people - 2019 cruise for my in-laws.  They put all their faith (and credit card) in me to plan all their activities, and had a great time!!!  (I'm an uber-vacation planner so I was happy to do this)
--My husband took his pants off and did a kick line in his underwear during Quest on our 1998 cruise  ???     ???    ?? ?

We are on this cruise right now and frankly, I never saw anything from Royal that suggested that they would pay for food.  Hotel, yes...but nothing else.  Most of our food expenses are reflected in the hotel bill and we will submit all of it but I fully expect to be reimbursed for hotel only. I thought about making a claim against our travel insurance for anything not covered by Royal but it’s not really worth the hassle.  We’re only talking about a pittance. Just not worth it, IMO.  Frankly, they have been so generous with the cruise fare refund(s) that I don’t plan on making ANY waves about a few bucks worth of food.

Seriously I am not that concerned about the coronavirus.  The washy-washy guys have trained us well.  I am more concerned about the overreaction to the outbreak - screenings at airports and cruise ports, quarantine procedures, delays, cancellations, etc.

There is nothing specific to a cruise ship that alters the decisions we all must make in life.  Ships don't generate viruses.
If you decide that you aren't comfortable cruising, that's fine but consider norovirus.  More people are infected on land by a very large margin compared to on board ships.  The difference?  If 200 sick people leave church and visit 25 different doctors there is no accounting or reconciling the point of origin being the church.  Same with schools, shopping malls, transit buses, etc.  Ships are required to report anything that reaches a threshold.  Churches, schools, malls, buses are not required to report anything, even if the entire congregation is determined to be infected.
One person arriving on a plane who goes to church, then the mall, then rides a bus and so on is more impactful than the same person going on a cruise.  Ships make the news.  Churches don't.
The media knows better than to suggest church is dangerous to your health but if you decide that a ship is a risk to your health, by the same reasoning so is your church and by an even larger margin, your kid's school if you have kids in school.
By the numbers, you are better to avoid church and take your kids out of school AND put them on a cruise ship if you want to reduce risk.

I'm sorry that you are frustrated over this, but this is all part of cruising and you need to be prepared for that. There are all sorts of things that delay sailings, weather, mechanical failures, illnesses. You need to be prepared for delays and port changes. Calling someone at a call center will not have all of the information as this is a fluid situation. As far as the call center knows, the departure date has been pushed back a day, so of course they are not going to issue a full refund for the cruise. Its in your cruise contract that RC can alter the sailing as they see fit at any time and we as passengers have no recourse.
    6. CANCELLATION, DEVIATION OR SUBSTITUTION BY CARRIER: a. Carrier may for any reason at any time and without prior notice, cancel, advance, postpone or deviate from any scheduled sailing, port of call, destination, lodging or any activity on or off the Vessel, or substitute another vessel or port of call, destination, lodging or activity. Except as provided in Section 6(e) below, Carrier shall not be liable for any claim whatsoever by Passenger, including but not limited to loss, compensation or refund, by reason of such cancellation, advancement, postponement, substitution or deviation
Others that are on your sailing have reported that RC is refunding the passengers the rate for the day, and any on board things like beverage packages etc. I feel that is more than fair. I also feel that it is wise of the cruise line to push back the sailing to thoroughly sanitize the ship out of an abundance of caution. The cruise will still be enjoyable even though it was shortened by a day. The kids will forget about the delay 10 seconds after boarding the ship. Roll with the punches and have a great cruise.
