just got home from Liberty and Windjammer was open for dinner.

don't worry, you will get the email. it seems that it doesn't go out until approximately 30 days before sailing even though RC knows it is changing. we received our email about 2 weeks ago for a Nov 14 departure when they have known we were not going to Grand Cayman.

Diamond and Diamond plus hidden benifits
Tmsmith replied to Dave G's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
yes. my husband did it frequently. -
We did the same. Originally, 12:30 was the earliest for or Nov. 14 cruise but thanks to the blog, I learned they could open up earlier times. I guess our excitement for the cruise drives me to the App every morning so I checked the check-in times and an earlier time showed up so we took it.

We store our seapass cards in a business card holder binder. As far a collectibles, we keep a dollar chip from the casino and I make a magnet out of that. Each chip has an identifier for the ship so that is our ship "display." I also buy a Christmas ornament from each island and we have an extra Christmas tree just for travels. It turns into a trip down memory lane each year when I pull the ornaments out!

I ordered from Etsy and it was really inexpensive. I think that if the decorations are not generic so anybody could use, they are less likely to walk off.

That is good to know. Thanks for the info.

Everything from our original checkin carried over to the "official" checkin. So ready to sail!

Enchantment of the Seas (Present Condition)
Tmsmith replied to PG Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
We have sailed Enchantment a couple of times in the past and she was showing her age then. I scheduled Feb. 2022 out of Baltimore so nice to know she is in dry dock to. hopefully, get a face lift. -
Thanks for the update. we re-check in on 9/30 so I will see if we have the same result. Happy sailing!

We would appreciate some of input regarding gratuities for the suite concierge and the diamond club ambassador. it goes without saying, we always tip the bar staff but we were curious what others consider reasonable when we don't really use the concierge or ambassador's services outside of the space and walk-off escort. We have only used the suite lounge once and it resulted from Royal-up Royal did not increase the gratuity so we calculated the difference and left that for the concierge. That said, we have 3 cruises coming up and do not want to offend anyone.

I am curious also. our cruise re-check in is Sept. 30.

Royal Caribbean Optum Store - Testing Kits Available
Tmsmith replied to KLA's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Curious about expiration dates. For the test kits received, ideally the 6 pack from eMed, how long do you have before they expire? I want to buy the 6 pack that we can use in Nov and Feb. -
First Royal Caribbean Ship You Went On
Tmsmith replied to LovetoCruise87's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Maiden voyage of Voyager in 1999. -
We have added extra time to San Juan departure cruises twice now. We did a beach day, visited the forts and old San Juan on another day, rain forest for a day and then rented jeep and drove around the entire island which took a day. We didn't make it to Vieques for the bio bays nor did we take the ferry to the outer islands both of which were recommended by friends in San Juan.

A little good news at least...
Tmsmith replied to USCG Teacher's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Can someone educate me on this program? We play my vegas and have money built up but they always say must be redeemed within 30 days of purchase and they aren't ssiling. Also, can they really only be used for new bookings? We have 3 scheduled for the end of 2021 and early 2022. -
While we are partial to Voyager because our honeymoon was on the maiden voyage and we had so much fun visiting the islands an experiencing the islanders joy at seeing "the big ship," our favorite Freedom. Not too big, not too small.

Shore excursion - ORLANDO (PORT CANAVERAL) - What to do ?
Tmsmith replied to R.J.'s topic in Shore Excursions
I have the same question. We have traveled to Orlando many times but for the parks only. -
It was awesome! There were people who were claustrophobic in our group and, because the helmet was clear, it didn't bother them at all. We also had someone who couldn't swim and the crew handled it beautifully.

Empress and Majesty are leaving the fleet
Tmsmith replied to JLMoran's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Does anyone know what they will do with existing bookings? We had a March 2021 booking that I just moved to 2022. -
Hotel and cruise parking package for New Orleans
Tmsmith replied to GOcruising's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
There is a Marriott (Downtown Marriott at Convention Center) across the street from the Riverwalk (where port is located) and a Hilton attached to the Riverwalk. Both have parking and you may be able to book a cruise package that would include parking. Both are easily walkable.
