  1. There is currently about 6 ships positioned off Port Kembla, Australia. No passengers on board. I understand that they have been asked to leave Australian waters, and go to their home port, or somewhere else. They are being fueled and supplied, but no one is allowed off the ship. Radiance of the Seas in dock at the moment, or soon !
  2. Sorry, but I think RCI are doing their best in a very difficult time. They have massive overheads, thousands of staff to consider, and need to remain strong for the time when things return to normal. Just take the refund and maybe you have to wait a bit, and enjoy your future cruising with some other line, or maybe just stay at home and be bitter about it all !
  3. Someone said in a recent post here, that Australia has closed its Ports for 6 months. Have not heard that, but not surprised, after the Ruby Princess and Ovation fiasco at Sydney. Looks like my trip to Singapore with Voyager on 19th April is on serious doubt, but no word from Royal yet !
  4. My wife currently on Ovation out of Sydney. Was going to New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands for 11 days. New Zealand has stopped any ships docking at any port, South Pacific has 'storms', so the ship just sailing to nowhere. Captain said he would let them know later, maybe today. No known sickness on board.
  5. I agree Zambia-Zaire, for starters, as memory serves me, conditioned air is only fed into the cabins, there is no return vent to circulate air in individual cabins. That air makes its way from the cabin to the passageway, complete maybe with the virus, and then what ?!?
  6. My situation is that I was booked on Quantum 15th and 24th sailings, with a flight to Singapore on Friday, yesterday. Notification on Wednesday was not real helpful, but our TA told us we will get full refunds, not credits, but there is a charge for cancelling the flight and hotel, we had at beginning and end of cruise in Singapore. It was about $210 AUD. Can this fee be reclaimed from Royal or our Travel Insurance, do you think ? Really not unhappy too much about not going, as the risks of catching the virus or getting stuck somewhere was increasing. We are also booked on repositioning cruise, Voyager, leaving Sydney on 19th April and going to Singapore also, so the jury is still out on that one ! I wonder where Quantum will be going for the next 3 weeks, and maybe beyond, as apparently Royal have cancelled all ships and sailings in Asia till end of April at least.

  8. Hi Shari, We are currently on Ovation from Sydney with HNL tomorrow. We had exactly the same message prior to leaving. Happy Hour in the Music Hall, both levels, and the free coffee from any of the cafes, once per day. This cruise has 800 D and D+, and the setup works really well. Only Pinnacles (50 odd), and suites in the Concierge lounge. A lot of the Pinnacles prefer to be in the music hall because of the good atmosphere.
  9. Now on Day14 of the Ovation Repo, and the arrangements put in place for D and D+ guys have worked very well. Thanks to Nadia in the music hall and the great bar staff, and all the parts of the ship, we have enjoyed the cruise. Honolulu in 2 days.
  10. Thanks everyone. This is our 5th cruise on Ovation, and the Concierge lounge has always been open to D+, plus of course Suites and Pinnacle, so this time it is different, brought about by the high numbers of C and A. Probably just a sign of the times, however still happy that they are giving us both levels of the Music Hall for Happy hour. We just need to find another quiet spot for our mid morning relax.
  11. Thanks for those thoughts. I will soon know how it works. Apparently there will be around 800 D and D+ on board this time, so they did not have much choice other than to restrict lounge access.
  12. Hi, I am new here, and am travelling next Wednesday to HNL via Tahetti. This is the first to the US for this ship and they will dock for an extra night in HNL, so inspections can be done by the authorities. Really looking forward to the cruise, however I have a question about access to the Concierge Lounge. RCI have sent an Email saying that this area reserved for Suites and Pinnacle, with D+, and D in the Music Hall for the happy hour event. This is probably OK, as there are normally high numbers of C and A guys on board. But, they do not say if the lounge is available to D+ at other times. If not, it is a pity as this lounge is great for a quiet spot during the day. Has any one else got an idea about this one ?
