  1. I second the vegan chocolate cherry tart. Miss the Cherries Jubilee.
  2. I was up at midnight for my Anthem on Dec 17th and got 10:30. I expected 10 based on the fact that this itinerary leaves port earlier than many in FL. Oh well. Just interesting to see this thread so I know what to expect on my future cruises. I have a Wonder and Odyssey in 2024.
  3. Ok, so I wasn't crazy....I had old calendar (maybe 2018) that I was able to print and this year when I tried it was a colossal failure!
  4. I used BJs Travel for a few cruises and when our Christmas cruise was missed thanks to Southwest's flight fiascos, I realized I don't care for 3% back in BJ card or whatever they are promising. It was the worst experience of my life. I had to call BJs and wait on hold while they called Royal. Some BJ assistants couldn't figure out how to pay for my children's cabins for this summer's cruise (who were right next to ours). Hours and hours of time spent. And I had travel insurance and had to deal with that separately, so my patience level for "being on hold" was sorely tested. I finally had a successful cruise in April and I'm still waiting for that BJ card. Though I was told it would be 5-9 weeks after cruise to get it. My old TA passed away during COVID (not from COVID) and her replacements were not as sharp. Sigh.
  5. THIS. Just woke up at 3 am for my Alaskan cruise. Well, I didn't actually set an alarm, I am a light sleeper so when I was up in the middle of the night and saw it was after 3 am ET (midnight PT where the ships sails out of Seattle) I snagged 10:30 check in times and went back to sleep!
  6. Are you right next to each other or right across from each other? I ask because I just recently went on a cruise last June with balcony rooms right next to each other (not connecting), but my minor daughters (17,15) were registered in 1 room and my husband and I the other. You can do that only if the minors are right next to your cabin or right across. We did not get multiple key cards, but in our case (Oasis) we were able to go back and forth via the balcony. We had the room steward open the divider and even if the balcony door is "locked" (not the kid safety lock) you could come right on in! I am the only 1 with the app so I just linked the 2 reservations together in the app and I was able to check all 4 of us on board. And make show reservations too. We all ate at the same table. I told the travel agent to have us at same table for early seating. We also communicated via texting. We had internet plan, but I think if you all have iphones ,imessage works without the plan. I also read if you all have the app you can now text amongst each other, but we have not done that. Good luck and enjoy the extra space and bathroom!
  7. We did find Solarium deserted 2 nights when hubby and I wandered in there. Got to sit in comfy cushioned round seats.
  8. If you thought Harmony's pools were busy, never go on Anthem! (2 pools- 1 outdoor, 1 indoor) My girls were happy the last day at sea turned the outdoor pool into a wave pool so there was room for tweens to get in and actually move around! Guess the waves ruined it for the "just sit there with your beer" crowd. ? As for me and my husband, we did look around the Solarium (which has a 3 tiered pool) . Man, that was crowded! But we had no plans to actually hang in the Solarium since we had our girls with us. 1 tween and I are going on Harmony next November. Hoping for the best re: the water slides. Will not expect much and might re think purchasing the Perfect Day waterpark passes.
  9. My daughter was 14 this summer on Anthem. She had to wear a special bracelet to be allowed into the gym. She always went when I was there- we even did a yoga class. I can't comment on what would happen if your son went without a parent.
  10. Do you recall when the Crown and Anchor platinum and up event was? I think I read that it’s normally Day 2 around 4ish? Just wondering. Thanks!
  11. On another note, from Periscope it looks like you all have the old Freestyle cups and not the new ones with bendy straw and carry handle. Am I correct?
  12. I'm not sure of the particulars. You can park in NJ for the ferry ride over, but and here's the big but..... if you want Crown access then you have to reserve months in advance. They are currently taking reservations out of NJ for October 2019. Now you can buy the tickets for the bottom part of the Statue and Ellis Island for July, just not the Crown. Below is the link. Good luck! https://www.statueoflibertytickets.com/Statue-Of-Liberty-Tours/
  13. Enjoy reading this blog. We’re on the next 9 night cruise on Anthem. Hoping to learn something new. ?
  14. Hello, I am newer to this forum, but have found everyone to be helpful and respectful. So, here's a question for those that have done this or the Helmet diving in Bermuda. Should I pack water sandals (with straps so they don't fall off) for walking on the ocean bottom or do people just go barefoot? Trying to limit the amount of shoes I pack and we want flip flops for the beaches. Thanks in advance!
  15. You can also reserve special Flow Rider lessons for a fee. That’s just a no for me. I can’t balance on land much less with tons of water gushing .... ?
  16. Anthem (Quantum class) only has 3 shows to reserve and some activities like IFly and North Star.
  17. They like waiting until "last minute" eh? ?
  18. My Anthem cruise only opened Ifly and North Star 59 days before and we still can't book the 3 shows.
