Moving back to Port Everglades will help her in this regard.
Port of Miami has a channel that must be transited at or near high tide (for Oasis class).  Depending how timing works out that may require leaving the previous port early or increasing speed to make a window of opportunity. Without top speed available Allure can't rely on making up time on the way so in some cases that may have involved changing departure times.
Port Everglades doesn't have this concern. She is free to enter port whenever she gets there and the port pilots can accommodate her.

It's not a safety issue, just a speed issue.

I have reached out to royal and they are saying that they plan to run at reduced speeds until next year's dry dock (2020).

It's great to see someone else from this blog on the same sailing! I kept seeing references to people on the sailing after us but never someone on my sailing. I honestly think we will be fine and I am choosing to go with positive thinking. But yes, I also am very VERY much looking forward to this trip.

I'm on the same sailing as you @spiralqueen !  This is our first cruise and this propulsion thing is making me a bit nervous. I've been looking forward to this for a year. I find myself checking the blog multiple times every day looking for any updates.

Emailed them recently and they said they start to take requests 22 days out from sailing. FYI

That's good to hear. Did you also get the same waiter every night?

Our dining room request was not met.  I called 10 days before the cruise and asked to be at a large table with other families if possible.  We got placed with 3 older people who did not show half the nights.

Email them 3-4 weeks before your sailing. That's when they begin planning table arrangements.

So I emailed RCL Dining less than a week ago asking them (nicely) to put us at our own table of 4 and also to place us closer to the centre where we can admire the grandeur of the 3-level dining room as this is our first cruise.  Not only did they emailed me back within the week, they accommodated both of our requests. Not sure if this happens often but I'm one happy customer right now.  One thing I found interesting is that they placed us at American Icon which I assume is the MY Time Dining floor. But the sitting is the same. (5:15) So I guess it doesn't matter which floor right?

We actually just ate in the MDR 4 of the 7 nights as we had specialty dinners the other 3, FYI.

You can upload a photo when you log into the site and are able to 'Check-In', about 90 days prior to your cruise.  At the bottom of the screen of info required for each person is the 'Security Photo' section.  Here you can add your photo.  Oh, and if you are using a passport as your travel document, make sure they are close to expiring  ?  they barked at mine which expires right at 6 months after my upcoming cruise

I totally agree with amathey11, we loved Roatan!!
We went with a private tour guide, we zip lined in the rainforest saw Monkeys Iguana's and beautiful birds, toured the island and then hung out at one of the beaches that was breathtaking.
Costa Maya, I would totally skip.
    Never been to Cozumel.

We just did this trip and LOVED Roatan. Can't understand why anyone would skip it. The area around the port isn't the best but take a ride to west end bay and its great!
We went snorkeling in that area and it was amazing. I saw real sea turtles swimming through the reef just a few feet from me.
Cozumel and Cozumel are a been there-done that for me. It seems to be just like any other port that's been getting cruises for years. Over commercialized and boring. For god sakes there is an old navy right when you get off the ship in Cozumel. No thanks, I can get that at home. If you're looking to skip a port, those are the ones to skip.
    Roatan is a must do.

I think its GREAT!  I have a floor length black gown I like wearing for formal night.  I love embracing formal night.  My mother has borrowed an old prom gown of mine for a cruise (was kind of funny seeing her rocking my circa 1990 peach colored prom dress but hey, like daughter like mother!) She now has a sequined jumpsuit and a silk pantsuit she uses as well.

I dont think there's anything that would be "too fancy" for formal night.  If you want to rock a ball gown, you rock that ball gown.  If you want to rock a gown with a train, you do you.  And if you want to rock a sundress or a pantsuit, you rock that pretty sundress or pantsuit.

In the end, if you want to wear that black sequinned gown, then you rock out that gown!  Have photos taken (you dont have to purchase them), take your own photos, dance with your +1 if you have a +1.  Make it a wonderful night to remember!

So true!!  I never get to dress up anymore. Nowadays I'm either covered in my kids' snot or milk, or food splatter from cooking.   Alright, I'm gonna fancy it up like no one's business.

Hi cruisers, does any of the specialty restaurants open for lunch on port days? Planning to skip one of the ports and it'd be great if we can enjoy a nice lunch onboard.
