  1. @Matt did you answer your own question? Trying to put these people back in line, they are making me laugh so hard my husband is giving me the side eye. ??
  2. I will never try the flowrider, I can't afford the broken hip/leg/arm/all the above.
  3. @Nate Y we did it in 2019. First time on a jet ski, I was the passenger my husband drove us. I think we weighted too much we were put last and lost the group a lot. My husband would have had more fun if he could've gone faster. Our daughter drove herself (first time too) she did not weight enough and disliked it. She loves speed so it was not the jet ski she just did not like trying to keep up with the group. They put the more experience drivers in front to the least experience in back. So after all this rambling I think you'll enjoy it if you've drove a jet ski to have a bit of experience. It was not really for the sights but for the speed of driving a jet ski, that's what I took from it. I did enjoy it but I would not do it again. My husband would do it again without a passenger.
  4. It's human nature, what bugs one doesn't bug another. I see your point, maybe they think the lowly Gold (Currently one of these) feel important since it's typically a "valuable" metal. Now leaving the drawer open a quarter of an inch and walking away................? ?
  5. @Fairlynewcurious on what others have booked on this cruise for excursions since it is so limited. Juneau we have the Tracy Arm Fjord and Glacier Explorer Skagway we have WHITE PASS SCENIC RAILWAY (we are booked at 8am, trying to decide to keep it or change to 12 noon) Sitka we have Sea Otters, Raptors and Bears Oh My These are not set in stone and all are thru RC. I don't mind booking outside of the cruise line for excursions but with how crazy everything is I like the safety of RC excursions.
  6. We have done both. We love Disney and we love DCL but holy cow, the price difference is crazy. We have been on Holland, NCL, Disney and Royal. Our very first cruise was on Disney and we feel in love. We have tried different lines to find that Disney service but with a more affordable price. We loved our Royal cruise, we now have three more booked. I think you try to go with a mind set of being new to cruising. Listen to Matt's podcast and ask questions here (great group of people!) Do a bit of research on your ship and what it offers. RC offers a lot for all ages.
  7. @FairlynewI booked this too but since we are on the same cruise I can't give an opinion. I did look at reviews but since RC does not tell you whom the tour is ran by I'm not sure it's the same. So basically I'm no help, sorry. Following
  8. I totally agree with you. The very low maintained white vinyl fences are very popular here in NC too. @melmar02your fence is beautiful, you guys have great taste!!
  9. Just got a Royal Up bid for our August 27th cruise. I bid. I'm just happy to be able to go on a cruise so if I win it's just icing on the cake.
  10. I've never won either but I've only bid on one cruise and it got cancelled.
  11. Once we get more established with Royal maybe we will try Carnival. My family in Florida/NY loves Carnival but they are the more "party" side of my family we have never joined them. After reading you all describe Carnival I think we will look at them when checking for itineraries. We have been on Disney (loved it but so pricey), NCL (was fine), Holland (Great ports but ship closed down at 8pm) and RCCI (Picked this one to stay with). I'd like to try Celebrity too.
  12. We ate at Jamies on our Harmony cruise May 2019, last cruise since Covid ?. We had an excellent experience, our server was beyond excellent. She asked us if she could pick what to serve us, why not? She then asked us some questions about our preferences. Holy Cow, it was our best meal. She just brought out things and we ate family style. The food was great but a think what tipped it over to excellent was the server.
  13. Since RC was not showing a lot I looked at other options. I called Alaskatours because they too were not showing much either. Amanda who lives in Skagway said they did not think there would be any cruises to Alaska in 2021. Since the season is so short for 2021 a lot of tour operators will not start up due to the cost. She said there would not be any sled tours nor any plane tours. RC still has both offered on their site so who knows. Maybe RC promising a certain number for the tour operators will open their doors? Just what I've learned in the last week. Hopefully like @Fairlynew said, they closer we get maybe more options open up.
  14. I think you guys are all split half/half, just like me! Flying out of GSO was cheaper by a couple of hundred dollars then CLT. Since I booked the Main Ticket and not the Economy Ticket, I picked our seats. We are either sitting in the very front two seats (no third seat) on the short flight and on long flight we are in the Emergency Exit seats (no third seat) The third seat is why Comfort Plus is not an option, every row has one person already booked.
  15. Husband and I are going to Alaska this August 27,2021 (thanks to Kelley our TM from MEI and her group rate!) We are flying from Greensboro NC to Seattle Aug 25th and flying back home Sept 4th. It was our 25th Wedding Anniversary this past May. When my husband I were just married (three months) we got bumped to First Class from Tampa Fl to Charlotte NC. My husband told me we would only fly first class, we have never flown first class since. I'd like to surprise my husband since the Alaska trip is all for me, he just enjoys making me happy (I'm very lucky). So is it worth the money to fly first class, our longest leg is 5.24 hours (ATL to SEA) The difference in price is an additional $1200-$1400 total One of my main concerns is the "extra" amenities are not being offered due to COVID Is this a YOLO movement Thoughts?
  16. $23 for my Ovation cruise 8/27/21 Seems like $21 is a "better" rate I just booked some items I really want, if price goes down I'll rebook Just remember to rebook first before you cancel existing one ?
  17. That's what I originally had but I once i started looking at my options it cut it down to the one cruise. So I closed out of RCI and got back in, still just one. Tried two more times. Thanks @Josh C I give my husband the option of Las Vegas or a cruise to Alaska, he picked Alaska!
  18. I have this cruise on hold but was looking at the other options to make my final decision. Please tell me this is just a glitch and not a sign that we are not cruising to Alaska in 2021?
  19. Kathy, Why did you pick that sailing over the other two options? The Ship or the itinerary or ?? Kelley my awesome TA has a hold for me on the Sept 20th sailing on the Serenade but the Ovation is only about $100 more for same cabin. Haven't even checked with my husband yet, reminds me of @Lovetocruise2002, she just books things and then tells her husband. Wonder if I can get away with it, like you guys said YOLO!!!
  20. @Johnt83 yes one of our 2022 cruises is Alaska its an 8 nighter for May 5th, 2022, look it up it starts in Vancouver and ends in Seattle on the Ovation
  21. Would it be crazy to book an Alaska cruise for August/Sept either dates work for us for 2021 when we already have a 8 nighter booked for May 2022? Poor Kelley my TA from MEI might be getting another email if I can convince Hubby. Flights from NC to Seattle are not bad at all and currently the cruise is not a bad price and I've wanted to go to Alaska for a very long time. Thoughts?
  22. I took Tylenol Rapid Release right after my second shot (Moderna) and was totally fine. My daughter and her boyfriend (22/23) forgot to take the Tylenol and had flu like symptoms that lasted a day and a half. Husband is waiting on getting it.
  23. My May 5th Alaska cruise went down for our Jr. Suite, we saved another $88 for each one (thanks Kelley!) My August 13th Southern Caribbean cruise went up a bit that our Ocean View Balcony is more expensive then our Jr. Suite.
