  1. Thanks for all the replies. To clarify, I've cruised 20+ times on various cruise lines and ports have been changed while cruising, e.g. recent Jewel of the Seas cruise: port day was switched Santorini/Athens because too many ships were going to be in port at Santorini. Or due to ocean current, unable to dock or tender in. I was just a bit surprised to read that there would be a change in port right after I booked the cruise. That said, it's now my understanding that the change in ports will not occur until Feb 2020 and I'm sailing January 2020. Keep my fingers crossed...huh?
  2. I sometimes browse Cruise Critic esp. if I have future sailings. A member posted that the Brilliance sailing out of Tampa in 2020 is changing the port schedule for a 5 day cruise from Key West & Cozumel to Key West and Coco Cay. Just last week I booked via an RC rep a sailing on Jan 6, 2020 for a family member who specifically wants to tour KW & Cozumel. Have any bloggers been alerted to this switch? If this is indeed true, then I have to contact the RC rep sooner rather than later. Thanks for any info.
  3. My friends and I are sailing on the Jewel also on May 11th. Because we are four older ladies, we opted to use a shuttle service from our Rome hotel to Civitavecchia Port and return to Rome hotel (we are staying 4 nights post cruise). The total cost round trip is 190 Euros - 95 Euros each way total for 4 passengers (about $26 pp each way). Here is the web site: http://www.sharedshuttle.it/ I did look up this service on TripAdvisor and other review sites and thus far it had great reviews. You do not pay via the internet - you pay the driver(s). We thought originally to go on the train but the thought of dragging our luggage thru the streets and then on board the train was daunting. The great thing about Sharedshuttle is that, according to their website & reviewers, they drop you off and pick you up after the cruise from the port itself. Sharedshuttle is allowed to do this. Check them out and see what happens. On a side note, when I booked the transport, I actually received a call from Lucy, one of the reps, from Italy to confirm our reservations. A voucher is sent via email that you need to print and have with you. It is a shared shuttle so there may/will be other passengers but the price is right! Hope this info helps.
