There is a wine and cheese shop near the port.  It is visited on one of the excursions, the Royal Family Food Tour.  I believe the shop is the Amsterdam Cheese and Liquor Store, but it is walking distance from the port exit (outside the gate, on the road towards town).  We were there last month.  They do cheese tastings.

Have you done the Royal Family Food Tour?  I was thinking of trying it on our next trip.

I am the only cruise planner in our family.  Half the time Dan has no idea where we are going or what ship we're sailing on.  He wouldn't have a clue about how to find, price or book a cruise !  He's a great cruisin' buddy but for planning....not so much....

Same here in my family!!  I'm the (over) planner and I just let them know the dates and where we are going.

  3. Etsy is an online shop for handmade and other type items.  Here are sample pictures and links for the pillow cases and magnet.  I ordered the magnet for my parents 50th anniversary last month and it was really nice!  The magnet can be customized for anniversary, birthday or honeymoon.

  4. I'm sure this is a dumb question.... but here goes..... for ships that don't give you a SeaPass at check-in and they are waiting in your room for you, how do you get in the room?  Are the doors left open?  And if the doors are left open that brings me to another question.  If you have the Key and took advantage of the carry-on luggage drop off, I understand they leave it in the closet but is it safe if your cabin door is left open?   ?‍♀️

Thanks! We had such a wonderful time and you can walk across the island and find a beach where you will be the only one on it! There was only 1 other couple on this beach where we took this picture! It was such a cool place! ❤️ Have a great time!

This picture is great, looks like paradise! ?️ This is exactly the type of beach experience we are looking for since it will be an anniversary cruise!  Were they any insects like mosquitoes or anything like that where we would need insect repellant?

I would suggest Pinel Island in St. Maarten. It is very secluded and you can snorkel, kayak, walk around the island and see a lot of wildlife, or just sit on the beach. We used Caribbean Paddling to get over there. Rented a double kayak from them and only took about 10-15 mins to kayak to Pinel Island. Here is the link for the website: https://www.caribbeanpaddling.com/rentals/kayak-rental-pinel-island  If you do not wish to kayak, they have a water ferry that can take you over there. I have attached some pictures so you can see our experience. We will be going back at the end of this year!

Your pictures are awesome!  I had been looking into Pinel Island and I think I may go for it ?

  7. We were on the Majesty cruise to Havana last November and had our family of 3 in an Ocean View Room.  This picture shows the bed setup.  It was a tight fight with 2 adults and a teenaged son!  We lifted the bed and slid the empty luggage underneath for storage.  There is also a little space on the right side of the bed to put some bags on the floor as well.  Our cruise was 5 days so it was manageable.... any longer and we probably would have went with a bigger cabin. ?

  8. We were on the Majesty for the Havana overnight cruise during Thanksgiving week in November 2018.  We took the RCCL sponsored tour called "Old Havana City Sightseeing" at 8:50am.  It was a bus tour that took us to Morro Castle, the Christ statue, Revolution plaza, Colon cemetery, and Almacenes San Jose marketplace.  After the tour we went back to the ship for lunch in the dining room.  After lunch, we relaxed for a bit on the ship and headed back out to Havana during the late afternoon/early evening.  On our own we walked around on Calle Mercarderas and Calle Obispo streets.  We explored Plaza San Francisco (which is directly across the street from the cruise terminal), Plaza Vieja, Plaza de la Catedral, and Plaza de Armas.  Right across the street from Plaza de Armas, was a fort called Castillo de la Real Fuerza.  We walked back to the ship in the evening.  During our whole time we felt completely safe! There were military and police all around the tourist areas and we didn't ever feel in danger or see any pickpockets.  Hopefully this info helps you out a bit!  Also, it was super easy to get on and off the ship and go through customs.  The first time going through they took the visa, but after that we just had to show our passport page that they had previously stamped the first time we went through.
