BrianB got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Repricing question for a rare cabin category?
I’ve had a cabin that was in a sold-out category so there was no way to check for a price drop. Certainly didn’t think the price would drop as there were none available in the category.
But, I called to apply an Instant Cash Certificate from the Casino and was surprised when the agent told me the price had dropped a bit and would I like the new price. Very unexpected and appreciated.
I went back and checked up to the final payment date in case some opened up (sometimes group bookings and TAs have them on hold) but the category remained sold out.
You can always call and check. Couldn’t hurt.

Royal is partly to blame for this incident on Symphony as the crew member requested his contract be for Voyeur of the Seas.

BrianB got a reaction from calvink669 in Royal Caribbean background check
I don’t know if it’s a cruise line process…or if the CBP (in the U.S.) automatically does it when they get the manifest. I’m presuming that’s why they want the manifest early. I’m thinking it would be pretty difficult to screen each and every passenger with a complete background check. Not only entering the info, but then someone screening the results.
More likely CBP will scan the manifest and respond to flags. Wanted people, watch list names, those on court restricted travel, passport irregularities, etc…

We only do free stuff at Coco Cay and it is so much fun! I mean we have so much fun. That island honestly is pure magic. They really hit multiple home runs with that place.
Next time we are gonna pay for the water park part just because our son will prob be 12 and will love it. The wave pool is something that I would like. The little guy will be prob be 4 so I'm not sure he will get anything out of it but want to try it next time.

I was at Hideaway as well. The ocean water was a tad cold but fine once you got in (about 10:40am). We then went to the pool, and later went to the ocean and it was “practically walk in”…no need to dip quick to “get it over with”. The beach was amazingly clean-no seaweed and I noticed a net at the opening between this bay and the ocean that perhaps kept the big fish out. Chill beach is known for its stingray and shark (hammer?). I have hideaway booked for 2 more of my cruises. At $25 (the sale I purchased at) it was a bargain. I can’t say it would be worth that much more.

So smart! I’m going to do this from now on! Thanks for the tip. I’ve always used the curly ribbon trick but I like the colored reflective tape better!

I use the plastic covers also…I put one on the top handle and one on the side.
I also mark my bag with color reflective tape on all sides so I can see it from far away…distinguishing it from others. Also helps prevent someone with a similar bag from accidentally taking mine.

That is nuts! Very happy you found your cases and made your flight home! I use the plastic covers found on Amazon (Bezos) and have always attached to the handle on top when the suitcase is upright.

This is very disappointing. How in the world are you supposed to know what the fare/cost will be BEFORE you make a booking ? Completely unsat.

I've seen the new releases not work for DP340 as well. It's not unusual for them to take a few days to load but it seems its taking longer this time.

This has been a new issue for me. Even onboard while booking at Next Cruise, they can not apply the single cruiser supplement discount. They found it very frustrating because they were unable to quote the discounted price.
They contacted shoreside and were advised that the discount can now only be manually applied by them…after the booking has been completed and submitted.
Eventually, I did get the new cruise confirmations emailed to me…two weeks later…with the discounted price.
***I tried adding the code DP340 into the promo code box, but it keeps saying ‘Invalid code’….am I doing something wrong?

BrianB reacted to FionaMG in Can Deluxe Package get even cheaper than "50% OFF FOR SECOND GUEST"?
The percentage discounts are largely meaningless. If you monitor the cruise planner prices regularly you will often see that the final price with a 30% discount is cheaper than with a 50% discount!
The only number that matters is the one on the bottom line!
The best strategy is to buy when you see a price you can live with and then keep checking. If the prices goes down later on, you can cancel and rebook.

I wonder how many US cities would have areas with Level 4 Warnings if the State Department was able to apply their metrics to those locations…🤔

Update…GOOD NEWS!
On the Anthem now. I checked in this afternoon with Next Cruise about the missing solo cruiser discount on the cruises I booked two weeks ago. Danning said she had not received a response from the email she sent at that time. She told me she would contact shoreside and get me an answer.
At 8pm I saw that Royal had emailed me fifteen new cruise confirmation receipts.
All fifteen cruises had the discount applied…to the original lower price! No need to worry about crossing bridges when I get to them anymore. Very happy!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
