  1. Maybe I'm not understanding you correctly, but we use MEI and every little change I make (payment, add grats, whatever) causes a new invoice to be generated that our TA sends to me via email immediately. I just looked at a copy for one of our upcoming cruises and I can see every line entry Cruise Fare, Taxes & Port Fees, Change Fees (yeah.. I'm that girl!), gratuities, etc. and at the very bottom of that list is balance due. MEI forwards this to me from RCI as "guest copy". Doesn't everyone get this?
  2. We had a VB on Anthem - never again. I found the picture to be pixelated and even when it is turned off it emits an obnoxious glow. It was so annoying that our cabin attendant had maintenance disconnect the wretched thing. Can you tell I REALLY hated it?
  3. I'm sitting here at my desk working away when all of a sudden a push notification comes in to my phone. I check it and it is from my RC app. I figure it is just going to tell me to hurry up and buy something because the "sale" is ending soon. Nope! It was a notification telling me that I only have 30 minutes left to complete my muster drill - my next cruise is in 240 days and I feel crushed lol. I want to go do the muster drill instead of working
  4. I think so as well. I think the Jazz on 4 is a lovely space, but every time I've gone in when there wasn't a game going on, it seemed deserted.
  5. Has anyone here heard about this? On another board, someone says they were talking to the CD on Allure and were told that the Jazz on 4 clubs on all Oasis class ships are going to be removed and turned into smoke free casino space. I never go into the casino due to the smoke, so this might be nice. It also may just be a result of bean counting and the elimination of live entertainment.
  6. I am so very sorry this has happened and I hope you contacted police to file fraud charges. For our first cruise, we used a local TA and the results were lackluster, but thankfully not disastrous (he charged us $20 booking fee - I've since learned there should never be a booking fee.) We now use Michelle Cunningham w/ MEI Travel and she is wonderful. Like others who have been posting, I agree - MEI will take very good care of you. Harr Travel is incredibly reputable as well. Best wishes and big hugs! You deserve so much better than what you received.
  7. We are going to be on Oasis in October and we have already purchased the UDP for our sailing. It is a 7 night Eastern Caribbean out of Bayonne if that makes a difference.
  8. I've only seen it once. The guitar player/singer in Portside BBQ let a young woman in the restaurant sing a tune while we were eating lunch. We really wish he hadn't... He was trying to be nice, but there is a reason a lot of people don't like to listen to karaoke.
  9. I don't think this is a supply chain issue. I remember being on Anthem in 2018 and the machines were constantly out of soda.
  10. Please google "do sloths like to be held".
  11. I have two. 1. Unsupervised children. I've had a fork fly right by my face in the WJ. Parent chuckled. On Oasis, we watched a 3ish year old climb on the Boleros letters outside the bar, the dad just watched her do it. 2. Scooters left in hallways.
  12. We had the upgraded L'Occitane in our spa Jr suite on Ovation. I tried it and had to re-shower an hour later because I could NOT stand the smell of myself. One of the bottles (I think the shampoo) smells like cat pee and the conditioner smells like a dude. I don't want to smell like a dude or like cat pee! LOL Of course, YMMV. I always bring my own.
  13. I've tried using the watchlist, but the prices didn't update. I was hoping I could use it to quickly see if my cruises had repriced lower, but they have both increased and the watchlist is still showing the lower price (until I click on it to actual go in and mock up a reservation).
  14. This is completely a customs issue. The crew from the ship, guest services from the ship - none of those people have ANY control whatsoever of what happens with customs and border control. Believe it or not, you are at their mercy in a foreign port. Why would an RC officer take custody of your children to take them back on the ship? And furthermore, why would you allow yourself to be separated from your children? Personally, I think you are angry with the wrong entity and the entity the deserves your ire (Israeli Customs & Border Protection) couldn't give a rat's patootie that you're annoyed.
  15. We were in a Jr suite on ovation to Alaska in Sept. We LOVED it! Quantum class ships have some "Spa" Jr. Suites - we absolutely loved it, they have a room on one side with a toile and sink and a room on the other side with a walk in shower w/ a rain head and across from it a full size tub. It was fabulous. I'll link a youtube video I found so you can see what I mean, if you're interested. Have a great cruise!
  16. We have been on both Anthem and Oasis out of Bayonne. Personally, I much prefer Anthem. I think there was a similar amount of activities to do, I just really enjoy the Quantum class ship more than the Oasis class. Why? Oasis is geared so that everything faces to the inside - I reminds me of being inside a mall. We were on Oasis in Oct 2021 and this may have been due to Covid, but there is virtually no where to sit and just relax. There are a few (very few) spots through Central Park and I don't recall there being anywhere on the Boardwalk except for the seating for Johnny Rockets or Playmakers. Sometimes it is just nice to sit down w/ your cup of coffee, cocktail, whatever and watch the world go by - there just really isn't anywhere to do it on Oasis. If you do book Oasis, do yourself a favor and study deck 6 - It dead ends and about the 3rd time you have to make your way back to an elevator or stairs and go up or down one floor to get to where you need to go it gets a little frustrating. I also found I really missed there not being a 270 on Oasis. YMMV!
  17. When you are closer to your sail date (this can fluctuate since Covid - but around the 60 day mark) you'll be prompted to start the check in process. Soon after that your SetSail Pass will appear as a link on your account page and you'll be able to view/print it. Congrats!
  18. I have a question in regards to this: Are the cruise offers that you get from Casino Royale always "short time" - do you have to sail in the next 2, 3 or 6 months? We always plan our cruises over a year in advance so I don't know if this would be helpful or not. Thanks!
  19. Thanks!! I thought that was probably the case, but I would feel like an idiot if someone gave me a perplexed look as I handed them dollars.
  20. Hi everyone! We are booked for a Norwegian Fjords cruise on Anthem of the Seas departing from Southampton, England in Sept of '23. It just occurred to me that Europe doesn't have the same tipping culture that the US has. I know exactly what I tip on a cruise originating from home and of course I tip in USD... but this cruise starts in the UK and goes to Norway and then back to the UK. Should I tip like I would if I were going to the Bahamas? Dining staff, bartenders, cabin steward, etc.? I'm sure the answer to that is yes, but in what currency? It really doesn't seem to make sense to tip in British pounds, should I get some kroner? Or stick to USD? I checked and the next 2 cruises for Anthem after ours are in Europe, so should I get Euros? Help!!!! LOL Pam
  21. Thanks for your input - I was thinking that was probably the case. I really can't see spending nearly $2,000 just for alcohol. I guess it is something to consider!
  22. We are looking at booking a 14 day to Greenland on Jewel in the future. I have a couple of questions about the DBP that some of you might be able to help with. Pre-covid we paid $41.99 on Anthem and that included tax/grats, etc. the total cost was $41.99 X the number of days. Fast forward to our upcoming cruise to Alaska, the cheapest I've seen was $51.99 + tax/grats added at checkout (I know why they are doing it that way now so that the advertised price doesn't seem so bad). I'm thinking that now post covid that $51- 55.99 + fees is probably going to be the new normal. Anyway, my question: do they offer discounts on long sailings like a 14 day or is it usually the prevailing rate for 7 day cruises? Thanks!
