A closer match over Brilliance or Rhapsody is Symphony which is a sister ship to Allure and did a TA crossing West in October 2018.

I'll be taking Allure on her Eastbound crossing in March but that's the opposite direction from November.
Oasis isn't doing a revenue crossing with passengers in November 2019 so the Symphony cruise compass posted above is the closest match for the same class of ship and by then Allure will have many upgrades completed that will bring her very close to Symphony.

Great video!  Just makes me realize how bad I wish that I was there right now rather than sitting on my couch, I do wish that he had about another minute of footage! It shuts off just as I was starting to relax and enjoy the amazing view!?

This is precisely what I did.  I want to be able to go to the Club, swim in the pool and eat some lobster but I have learned from experience that the cabanas are a waste of money for us.  We just take naps there.  So I feel like entrance into the club at $64.99 PP was a pretty good deal.  The "floating" cabanas (I guess they have renamed them from "Over-the-water" to "floating") for us are $1499 (Anthem, Feb. 2020). For the 2 of us to take a nap that is just waaaytooo much.  I am, however, interested to see what the Club is like.

To be clear, Black Friday doesn’t guarantee a 30% off promo on the drink package. While I got some truly great deals on some items in the Cruise Planner last Black Friday for my Anthem sailing that leaves this October, the drink package was only offered with BOGO50, not 30% off. I didn’t see a single 30% off sale for the drink package until a week or two ago, and by that point Royal had raised the onboard price by a lot, making the 30% off price no better than the prior BOGO50 pricing.
The drink package is truly one of those items you have to check at least once a week, preferably a few times a week, all the way up until sail date. And be prepared for it to never reach a price you’re happy with; that’s what happened with me, so now I’m bringing my allowed 2 bottles of wine and buying the rest of my alcoholic beverages a la carte; non-alcoholic will be covered by the Refreshment Package that I bought on Black Friday at a crazy good rate as a safeguard.

Do a mock packing. Make sure you're good to go with carry on and suitcase(s).
If you're taking any new tech gear, learn how to use it NOW. Test it NOW, too!
Make a list of who and when to notify of your vacay, e.g., house/pet sitters, newspaper delivery, police (our PD offers house drivebys), alarm/security company, etc. Don't tell everyone of your plans and don't post on FB until you're back. Nothing says "rob me" like FB vacay posts.
Price check your hotel room like you did your cruise booking. Hotel rooms fluctuate in price just as cruise prices do. If it goes down, you can cancel and rebook it just like you can a cruise. I've done this several times over the last four or five cruises. You can also call the hotel's 800 number and tell them you noticed the price decrease. If you booked through Expedia, Travelocity, booking.com, priceline.com, or some other aggregator, then don't bother. The hotels require that you booked directly with the chain itself (online is fine) to get the price changed.
Make a strategy for booking your next cruise at Next Cruise.

IRMO12HD reacted to WAAAYTOOO in What does unlimited dining actually get you on Enchantment of the Seas?
The UDP will not cover the upcharge items in the MDR.  If you eat in the MDR and want the filet or lobster, you will have to pay the upcharge.
The only down side to having the UDP on a smaller ship like Enchantment is that you will end up eating in the same specialty restaurant numerous times.  If you want true variety, I would recommend you stick with the MDR and just pay the upcharge if you want one of the upcharge items.  If you want a filet or lobster every single night then you should stick with the UDP.
If I understand your OP correctly, you have paid $590 for 5 UDP packages.  $590 will buy a lot of upcharge items from the MDR.  Personally, I think your best bet would be to cancel the UDP, go to the MDR and order the occasional filet or lobster if the mood strikes.  As a frequent user of the UDP I can attest that you do get tired of eating at the same few restaurants after a while....especially when you throw in lunches on embarkation and sea days.

No more codes are issued! Who ever is the primary creates an account and the rest of the users use that user name and password. Once the maximum number is met,  no more access until another user signs out. With saying that, here's an example.
4 device plan - account is created and that user name and password will allow the other 3 to log in, for a total of 4. Once a user sings out another person can log-in with a new device.
warning-- whoever purchased the voom package needs to establish the account or else you will be charged for internet!

I am on board now and definitely need that t-shirt!   Too many fun drinks to try!  So far my absolute favorite is a chocolate martini - yummy!!!  I’ve also tried Lava Flow, Whiskey Sour, Rum Punch, Gin Fizz, Mimosa, Bloody Mary (yuck!) and one of the Collins drinks (that was obviously not so memorable - for whatever reason ?). Found the standard Sauvignon Blanc to be serviceable for my wine with dinner.

GO to the pub, ask for a pint of Cider (if it's on tap) or a bottle of strongbow.  Might have to wait a few minutes (some bartenders wont serve you a shot and a beer).  Get a shot of Fireball, proceed to dump the fireball into the cider.  You now have a cinnamon-y delicious and strong concoction.

If you haven't yet tried a drink made with a reposado or Añejo tequila, I'd recommend that instead of one made with "basic" tequila like Cuervo Gold. As a specific example, Boleros has a specialty margarita called the Melon and Mango Rita that is made with an Añejo tequila (apologies as I don't recall which). It's very tasty and the tequila is not a super-dominant flavor, just blends really nicely with the rest of the beverage. Boleros is definitely the place to go if you want to try out the tequila-based cocktail options, they seem to have the best selection and also the best menu.

I'm a big fan of pretty much any "tiki drink".  So your Painkillers, Zombies, Scorpions, Mai Tais etc.  They just scream "vacation!" to me.
One of the fun things you can try with the DDP is, try a new beverage!  You say you're not a fan of vodka, but dont let that limit you.  Maybe there's a cocktail with vodka but its a secondary ingredient or its made with a combination of juices that overpower the peppery vodka taste.  Give it a go!  I'm not a big whiskey fan, but I use the DDP to try whiskey or gin cocktails that I wouldnt normally try at a bar only to not like them.  And dont be afraid to try something you've never heard of before.  Never tried a Dark and Stormy?  What better time to try one than with your DDP!  Use it to sample cocktails, and you can ask for them in a smaller glass if you're concerned about wasting.
Another thing you can do with your cocktails that you DO know you like is amp them up with your favourite spirit.  So you say you like gin.  Ok so maybe have that tom collins made with bombay sapphire or other fave gin.  Like the lava flow with Kraken rum (its a game changer I swear there's something magical about Kraken rum)
Afraid of getting a little too buzzed?  Dont feel the alcohol pressure all the time and ask for a non alcoholic version of your favourite poolside frozen drinks.  Virgin daiquiri, pina colada, lava flow, etc.
Dont forget the water!  A good strategy to prevent hangovers and getting too intoxicated with the DDP is make a rule for yourself.  1 bottle of water per drink.  It will slow you down and will keep you hydrated while drinking.  It also tends to fill you up as well so you dont overindulge in the alcohol.  Helps prevent DDP fatigue as well.

IRMO12HD reacted to Irieman in In defense of Nassau!?!
So there it was... our 4 day Cuba cruise now changed to Key West and Nassau morphed again into a cruise to Nassau and we stay docked until 6pm the next day. As we stared at the paper announcement on our stateroom bed, it was just 100% disbelief.
Granted we were only at Nassau once before and went straight to Segway around Blue Lagoon but Nassau is the place that people stay on board, complain about, and generally avoid.
What transpired was a terrific two days there. First off we had already decided to take a tour bus exploration excursion to get an overview and some history. It was fast paced and covered a lot ground but most of all we noted places we wanted to visit in the afternoon.
After lunch back at the windjammer, we walked to the Balcony House. It's the oldest wooden structure on the island. The tour was informative and free. From there we walked around that neighborhood reading history markers and slowly walking back down to the ship. A stop for ice cream on a second floor deck overlooking the harbor completed day one. Well, actually we ventured back out around 8 at night but most everything was surprisingly closed down.
At no time did we feel unsafe or hassled beyond the typical vendors trying to get us into their stores on the main drag.
Day two brought great weather so off to the local bus stop to grab the 10 or 12b bus that runs along the North shore of Nassau.  The goal was to find a beach far enough away from the tourists and the beach peddlers. Mission accomplished with a half hour ride shared with locals going to work. Found a beach that started with just us there and topped off at about 12 other RC toting towel folks. It was 100% what we had wanted. The small bar had 5 dollar beach chairs, food and refreshments. It was more island charm than resort which fit us fine!
Nassau wound up being a very pleasant surprise. Friendly locals, easy walking to historical sites, and an accesable public bus system to get you to the beach with some local flair! If we stop in Nassau again, which is a cruise ship given, we will no longer moan but look forward to creating an adventure.

Not true; if you don't buy the package, all a la carte purchases have an 18% gratuity automatically added to each drink you buy. So a $13 drink is really $15.34.
That said, the bartenders still appreciate the single wrapped around the Sea Pass card because they can directly pocket that for themselves, whereas the automatic 18% is split among all bar staff.

We took a similar cruise in 2015.  We found a "finca" tour on Gran Canaria fantastic.  It was a family-run vineyard and orchard.  After a short walk we tasted wine and cheese.  To and from the finca we had a nice bus tour, and there was a little time to shop in a small fishing village.  This was for us the best trip of the cruise.
In Lanzarote, which looks like the moon or perhaps Mars, we took a beach excursion and had plenty of time for a local lunch.  The tour was basically the bus ride to and from the beach, narrated by a British ex-pat who was very knowledgeable.
At Tenerife, we took the tour to the national park with rugged volcanoes and rocks (The Teide National Park tour which Fiona mentioned.)  It was interesting, but the bus ride through the mountains was a bit tedious.  We stopped for a restroom break and coffee on the way.
Have a great trip, and remember the food and entertainment on the ship will cater to the UK audience... The Canary Islands are most interesting and worth a visit.  If you go through Funchal, don't forget the chariot ride down the hill!
