  1. On my Odyssey TA there’s currently a “Intimate Cinque Terre - Small Group” tour on sale for $819.99
  2. As mentioned above: “Usually the general time frame for contact directly from a genie is about 4 weeks out. Plus or minus a week. What can sometimes delay contact is if your sailing falls during a genie handover. That means that one genie is leaving and one is coming back to takeover. There have been cases where that has delayed things.” Based on what people who sail Star class regularly have said, I would not be worried yet.
  3. The Facebook group says someone named Ellie Weiss will be speaking on various topics
  4. We got noon. A few people on the Facebook group got 1130a. Nothing earlier than that
  5. Looks like we’ll be cruising together on that Odyssey Trans Atlantic! Feel free to reach out with a DM if you have questions or concerns. Mr Z and I would be happy to lend an ear
  6. I’ll let you know in a month Odyssey trans atlantic leaving April 21! And also welcome back!
  7. Welcome to the boards! If you’re really into ultra premium, I suspect you will a bit disappointed with the whiskey selection. There are certainly some premium choices, but I don’t recall any stellar options with any of the liquors. Not to say you won’t have fun checking things out, though!
  8. I'm an outlier, I guess. I tried 150 for the first time this past December. I had high hopes, but I didn't feel the food was worth the higher price tag. While the ambiance was very nice, it was not *that* much nicer than Chops. Honestly, pick whatever place looks like the best menu for you.
  9. If you buy the lunch in advance through the cruise planner, it covers either the Classic or Premier option. I didn't know this when I booked for our cruise last December but found out once we were seated. It was a nice surprise!
  10. I really enjoyed Rhapsody last spring. I don’t think you have to worry about the kids getting bored. There are still activities, and there will be a number of other kids/young adults there with family as I’m sure you know, having sailed over Christmas before. They will meet people to hang out with if they want to. If they say they’re not worried, believe them!
  11. I have trouble uploading, but if I use the app and just take the photo, no problem. Same with scanning the ID -- works to let the app scan but not to upload a file.
  12. Welcome to the boards! We stayed at the Steigenberger next to the airport and then took a taxi to the port. It’s a lovely hotel. However, you will be there a day longer than us so you might want a hotel near to some tourist spots. There’s also a Movenpick hotel right next to the cruise terminal that people like, with no cruise transfer necessary.
  13. Smokeybandit is correct -- this is only a Level 2 warning. (Several news sites are incorrectly saying the new alert raises The Bahamas to a Level 3.) I believe The Bahamas have been Level 2 for a while actually. So while the new alert is used to bring attention to the current concerns, it's not a signal that the situation is drastically changed. (I will caveat this with saying I'm not at work today and can't verify the historical status.)
  14. At least with Royal, your Canal choices will be April or October, more or less. They use the canal transit to move ships to and from Alaska for the summer season, rather than a cruise on its own. April tends to be drier, historically.
  15. We did the private photos shoot when it was offered free to suite guests one time as well. As others have mentioned, they were great pics but they wouldn’t budge on pricing or style of prints. Not worth it. Right after that we talked to one of the regular ship photographers and set a time for her to take pictures of us against an interesting wall near the Schooner Bar. Turned out great, we got our 2 free Diamond photos and also bought 5 for a little discount. So maybe just go to the Photo Desk and see what they recommend for group shots.
  16. In the Cruise Planner. But it depends on how far out your cruise is -- too far and you'll just have to keep checking back to see when it comes available
  17. Coffee is the only one that comes to mind. There are a number of farms that do tours near Kona. However, one of my favorite things in Kona is the Seahorse Farm: https://seahorse.com it kind of counts as a plantation…
  18. I just ate at Izumi Teppanyaki for lunch two weeks ago on Allure. I booked ahead, which has the benefit of being less expensive.
  19. Canceled for weather? Could be up to several hours, unfortunately. Because half the people don’t want their bags, or are trying to reroute them to another flight or airline. Source: my 14 years as a ground baggage handler in a prior life
  20. Welcome to the Boards! Best option would be for them to use a travel agent in Vietnam to book their cruise. Then they would get the best advice on what documents they need, depending on the ports they will be sailing to.
  21. I don't believe you can reserve a spot ahead of time. We had no trouble finding a spot, though. I wouldn't worry!
  22. Welcome to the boards! I think there is an error in departure time. On boarding day the ship would never leave that early. Maybe 6pm. Just pick your checkin time as you prefer between 1pm and 3pm and you will be onboard before the ship departs.
  23. Welcome to the boards! Here’s the most recent thread on the shareholder benefit:
