I just don't see how wearing a mask is a dealbreaker. You're choosing staying home over having a vacation merely because a piece of fabric may have to be lightly attached to your face? If you have a well fitting mask, it shouldn't fog your glasses (I wear glasses every time, sometimes 2 pair if it's sunny, NERD ALERT) and with a light enough fabric, breathing easily shouldn't be an issue. If it helps us all stay safer and greatly lessens spread via moisture, why not wear one? I do it to keep others around me safe, not because I like the way it looks or feels.

Wearing a mask in a public venue on a vacation on a Royal ship  >  not wearing a mask sitting at home for sure!

You have some valid points but I am just saying I have seen many people say wearing a mask would be a deal breaker.

If you want to go to both 4 day on Mariner is your option.  2 days for universal AND Disney is just a waste of time and money.

That having been said, we did that 4 day in February and it was way too short for my liking.  And as a LONG TIME disney fanatic and mother of a universal team member, both in 4-5 days is also too short.

My suggestion would be the 7 day cruise with 1-2 days at Universal only which can be done in that time frame.

Edited to ask if travel time needs to be added to your trip?

    hello!

we can be in Orlando from Friday morning to next Sunday... but I think I might be able to add extra day.. so from Thursday to next Sunday is not impossible.. I guess something like Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Universal + 7 night on Harmony is doable..

  3. Hi all!!

really need everyone's opinion on this one since I am sure some of you had faced similar first world problems.

I love cruising of course but I also love theme parks in Orlando area.. but I have limited days of PTO I am unable to take 2 week or longer vacation..

if you had 9 days would you do 7 night cruise + 1 or 2 theme parks or do 4 night cruise on Mariner + 4 or 5 theme parks?

My kids are 6 and 11 years old and love everything lol they don't care.

I love going to theme parks but then 4 night cruise sound too short...  on the other hand 7 night cruise on Harmony sound perfect but my kids want to do both Universal and Disney...

what would YOU do and why?

    please help me decide!

    thanks!!

Disney World announced yesterday that they will not be reopening until next year 2021.  That makes me worry about cruises this fall.  Our cruise is Oct 8th (New England-Canada) and we are now looking into cancelling or waiting it out to see if RCI will cancel.  Hubby had a heart condition and we have decided that it is not worth the risk.  I am hopeful to reschedule with FCC for next fall.  This is so stressful trying to figure out the best way to go about this.

DO you have a link to this news?

  5. hello!

I am trying to get my friend to sail with me on Royal next year and I want to show him a nice marketing Youtube video so he can better understand this whole cruising experience.

what is the best one that you recommend?  I have found many blog/review type videos but they are usually over 20 mins which is too long..

if anyone can recommend Video clip that is about 5-10 minutes long it would be great and helpful. Doesn't matter if it is official Royal video or not - but I want it to show Royal ships.

thank you so much in advance!

If you cancel by June 14, you will indeed get 100% of your money back, including the refundable deposit (but make sure you've checked off the "Refundable Deposit" option or otherwise see that it's marked "Refundable"). Can you confirm there are just two of you on this booking, or is it four? I'll be assuming booking is for two.

If total price of the cruise is $2,000 then the price per person is $1,000 (assuming it's two of you). So:

    • From June 15 through June 29, you'll lose $500 total (25% of $1,000 = $250 per person)
    • From June 30 through July 13, you'll lose $1,000 total (50% of $1,000 = $500 per person)
    • July 14 through August 12, you'll lose $1,500 total (75% of $1,000 = $750 per person)

You will not lose the port fees and taxes -- those are always refunded.

When I choose "We(Royal) pick your room" option, there is no refundable deposit available. Is this normal?

    hello,

I have a quick question regarding cancellation policy with refundable deposit.

September cruise I am looking at is $2,000 now with $1,000 refundable deposit.    Let's say I book this today and pay $1,000 refundable deposit.   If I cancel on June 14, Do I get my $1,000 back?

what does  "25% of total price/person" mean?

Do I lose any money in this scenario?

    thanks everyone.
