Keep in mind that vaccinated people can still test positive and be asypmtomatic.  It is possible but rare for vaccinated people to have mild symptoms and even rarer for them to be seriously ill.  The goal of the vaccines is to prevent serious illness, not positive tests.

I agree that we probably follow updates more closely than many cruisers but the health attestation form and the cruise contract for the 8/27 sailing, both of which you must sign to check in, clearly state that you must be fully vaccinated.  I feel certain that those sailing on 8/13 had to sign similar documents.

Fairlynew got a reaction from Neesa in Benefit of Star Class Genie
I am currently booked in a Sky Class suite.  I sailed Sky class several times and love it.  I am considering upgrading to a Star Class suite, but it is a lot of extra money.   There are no kids in our group-a lot of discussions about Star talks about the benefits to kids.  What are some of the intangible benefits for adults?  I know things will be different post-Covid.  Do you think this will make the Genie more valuable?  I am pretty self-sufficient.  What can the Genie do that I can't do for myself, with the help of the suite concierge?

    Many thanks.

I'd recommend a good travel agent for this type of thing.

Just in: I've been chosen to play the role of @Lovetocruise2002 on Allure.
If anyone needs me, I'll be in my Star Class accommodations, waiting impatiently for Coastal Kitchen to open.

I really would like to try a Central Park or boardwalk balcony because I love to people watch but I hate the tube showers

Suite snobs here.  We tried a deluxe balcony cabin but it was too small and don’t get me started on the space capsule shower.  And what the heck is the 3 in 1 stuff that comes out of the shower dispenser.  You want me to wash my hair with soap?  You want me to wash my body with shampoo?  On purpose???
we have a JS booked on Explorer next October and seriously considering upgrading.  Just not sure the JS will be big enough.

I might be mistaken but I seem to remember that you can’t make MyTime reservations on the CP unless you have pre-paid gratuities.  Hopefully someone who knows more will correct this if I’m wrong

    My favorite recipe:
Step 1- Open a bottle of wine
Step 2- Pour it into a glass (or don't, no judgement!)
    Step 3- Drink it.
I don't drink cocktails so this is as fancy as I get!

Fairlynew reacted to Linda R in Masking enforcement?
I would say to expect to wear a mask anywhere indoors.  If not required, then that is a bonus.  I prefer to not wear a mask, but if it is required I will wear one.  I do not like to break any rules, whether I agree with it or not.   Rules change constantly and I feel they might get more strict with the Delta variant.  I have 10 cruises booked and will pay final payment on any that become due.  Hoping it will sail.  If a cruise gets cancelled I will book another.  I can definitely enjoy a cruise whether masked or not.

I am SO happy to hear this!    Have a great time on the college visit!    If the heat there is anything like it is in NC, being pushed in a chair might be a plus

A slight hijack of this thread to mention that taking our kids to visit colleges was one of my favorite things to do.  I loved being on a college campus because there’s so much energy and excitement.   In fact, I found my post retirement (stay at home mom for 20 years) career because as we visited colleges I realized that I would be so happy if I got to spend every day on a college campus.   I now work at our local community college and love it.

No - no masks required while sitting in bars/restaurants. (at least on Freedom last weekend)
