It's a pretty neat tour to be able to see these areas of the ship. I've been lucky enough to see them for free as part of media events but I'm not sure I'd be willing to drop $400 (for me and my wife) to see it.  
 
That being said, sounds like you might find it fascinating and perhaps it's best to think of it like an onboard shore excursion.

Sounds fantastic! We did 5 weeks when we went to USA. People thought we were nuts going that long but I think if your going to travel that far make it worthwhile. Makes me laugh when people complain about flights that are 4 or 5 hours long though!
 
Make sure you tell us all about it when you get back! Throw Washington in there and thats what I plan to do but we'll have to go back to Disney World again!

Has anyone been to Buccanos Beach Club, Money Bar or the new Sky Reef?  We want to spend some time at a beach area.  BUT shopping is a must as well while in Cozumel.  I have to have some silver.  Also Los Cinco Soles was suggested as a place to purchase Tequila.  Thanks for the opinions!!!    :)   Lisa

yep agree on the bugs for the Mayan ruins, it made the visit not that fun - there are some small one's on Cozumel you can see
I liked doing an island drive on Cozumel and eating out in town, jet boats are great too
Labadee is a great relaxing day and its fun to sit on the beach and watch the zipliners coming in

As Matt suggested, the cabin steward is covered in the automatic gratuity.  However, if you make a lot of requests and/or your steward goes out of his/her way (e.g., additional balcony furniture, extra linens, etc.), then an additional cash tip might be appropriate.

With the automatic gratuities, Royal Caribbean just has a flat daily gratuity rate of $12.00 USD ($14.25 USD for Suite guests) that is split among stateroom attendant, waiter, assistant waiter and head waiter. I forget the breakdown percentage of who gets what but your stateroom attendant gets the majority of it.

Tulum is awesome, but it is a lot of travel for a short visit. I don't remember wanting/needing more time there, but it didn't allow much time for anything else since at least four hours will be spent getting there and back on top of your time at the ruins.

In Cozumel, I really enjoy going into town and simply walking around.  I recommend getting off the main street and walking two or three blocks away from the main street for the best cultural experience.  There's great restaurants and shops to be found.

We've den a number of different things in Cozumel. One of our favorites was a cooking class that was all-inclusive and was at a beach club so that you could enjoy the beach activities afterwards.

Upgrading your stateroom is always nice.  Drink package is also a good way to burn some cash. Heck, why not just save the money and buy drinks for your group onboard?
