Until there are enough vaccinated people to get us to herd immunity, vaccine mandates will never go away.  One of the problems with people refusing vaccines is it allows mutations to keep recurring.  It's the "delta" variant now, but it will be another mutation in the near future.  In order for things to return to normal, people have to be willing to be vaccinated. Sadly in the U.S. it's become a political issue not a health one.  My daughter is an entertainer on SOTS and I am very pleased that everyone on the ship 12 & over has to be vaccinated.  I hope after the FDA approves the vaccine for 2-12 year olds, RCCL will extend the vaccine requirement.  I want to cruise often. Vaccination mandates are the only way to keep people alive and keep cruise worker's livelihoods.

Thanks! I have already contacted them and they said theyvwill not cover cruises.

We plan on going on our cruise on symphony end Nov. However we plan on leaving our 6 year old at home. Not worth the risk and she isn't allowed back at school after.

Fingers crossed it pops back up! 

I haven't sailed yet, but just sharing my thoughts ( and these are totally my opinions and anyone should do whatever they are comfortable with)
AO at this time scares me. Im not sure how great it is having a bunch of unvaccinqted kids together. I was telling myself that I was questioning if we would send our daughter there and then one of the members here had their son quarantined due to a contact at AO. Thats sealed the deal for me that they our daughter would stay with our vaccinated travel bubble.
That being said we have since decided to not bring her at all to be safe. Just can't take the chance and its a problem with her returning to Canada after anyways.
Again...just my opinion.

I may be wrong but I feel like since the restart shows are only available to book on board.
And for unvaccinated kids there are certain showtime that are open to them as well as a specific floor of the theater.

My husband and I are both healthcare workers, so after this last year and all the stress, an adults only vacation might be exactly what we need.
And my mom lost 2 years with her due to covid so she LOVES the idea.

New development is we are contemplating going without our daughter and enjoying our first trip without her which we haven't done since she was born. She is 6!

Time with other family members (grandparents etc.) is equally as valuable. ?
Jokes aside, we have been leaving the girls once a year since my older one turned 1.  It was Hubby's idea and I was reluctant at first.  We kept this "tradition" up until covid messed up our travel plans last year.  In 2020, we did not leave them at all.  This year, while we still can't cruise, we headed off to the Rockies for two weeks last month without them.  You know what they said when we came home?  They both said they missed their time with my parents tremendously and it was good to spend two weeks with because they missed out last year.  In fact, the tables have now turned and my 15 year old claims that we are more clingy than she is lol.

Any tips to get over my guilt? Lol. I've never been away for more then 1 night and she is my only child and usually we bring her EVERYWHERE! She had been to Europe twice before she was 3!
But I admit an adults only vacation sounds appealing...and definitely the drink package will get good use!

We probably have to switch our symphony sailing at end Nov. It seems like our schools are saying unvaccinated kids can not go back to school after travel AND they will not provide distance learning for these kids. 
Week before Christmas break may be our only option...
