  1. Our day in Cozumel a couple weeks ago and being parked next to HOS convinced us to book SOS for next year. We wished they would have done ship tour excursions.
  2. we are doing this next January on Symphony. Looking forward to it!
  3. We hit three of them over the course of the trip - I believe the first one was the Melissa Buc-ees.
  4. Yes- always look at the bottom line. Likewise - I would NOT give up a $200 OBC to save $123 (just a random example)
  5. Where did all those dogs come from? I have a music degree and I didn't know half of the musicians/instruments. What do the little lines by them mean? Oddly enough I know Julian Lloyd Weber plays the cello.... but that's pretty obscure...
  6. Family of 4 here-- we either need one balcony or two inside rooms to be able to get some space. This year we did connecting interiors and mostly loved it. Except for when one of the kids needed down time and one of us needed to be in the room with them. -- that was when we missed the balcony. Trying a Central Park Balcony next year. So I guess this is a real choice for us every time - it's just for the same cruise instead of getting an "extra" ?
  7. I also noticed the lack of room service trays/etc. when we were on board Liberty a couple of weeks ago. We also enjoyed the engaging crew. Glad to see someone else is giving deck 4 some morning lap love. Definitely my favorite place to get some air and some steps to justify an extra beverage or two....
  8. I am too - although I was there ? Road trip to Western Missouri everyone!
  9. I didn't want to buy into all the Buc-ee's hype - but - man. my sandwich was amazing. And, they had geocaches to find. And the dog park signs were the best. For dinner - we didn't get a photo of the Japchae! but it was great. Driving in this Houston suburb was a bit crazy.
  10. We are 2 1/2 weeks out from our cruise! Given the current weather situation in the midwest - this is a GREAT thing. We discovered tonight, that my parents who we are traveling with us have My time dining - and we are scheduled for early dining - (and planning on using the My Family time dining service to expedite the boys meals and get them on their way to play hard while we have a relaxing end of meal.) We know Grandpa and Grandma are hoping to dine with us as a group. At this point - we are not able to switch them to the early dining, so our choices appear to be We switch to My Time and try to schedule the group for 5:15 seating (what is currently available for anything that would be considered "early") We leave it as it is and head to the MDR upon arrival and see if we can switch Grandpa and Grandma to join our party Something else I'm not thinking of? We are really looking forward to a traditional dining room experience -so hoping we can get this straightened out. Thank you for sharing any tips, tricks and experiences.
  11. Do we have to do anything either ahead of time or when on board to get the package linked? Now to figure out which adult is the lucky one that doesn't have to manage the photos ?
  12. We are super bad about getting family photos - so with the Black Friday Deals are considering the digital photo package for our family for our February 2020 sailing on Liberty of the Seas. Since we have never been able to cruise Royal (third try is a charm right?) I could use some experienced input on the following: We are sailing in two connecting staterooms. Will we be able to use just one photo package? Will someone from the assigned stateroom have to be in each photo? We are traveling with Grandpa and Grandma - I am assuming they could be in group photos on our package? How many photo opportunities are there? Are they all at dinner times? Traveling with two 10 year old boys with varying special needs - variety is good. Looking for both fun and more traditional photos. We are bad about getting family photos because of our boys needs - I hate to schedule a sitting or site photographer here at home because if one of the boys is having a rough day - it's toast. Out of a week long cruise I'm hoping for a few usable photos and would consider that a win. I also don't want to have miserable kids waiting in lines right before dinner either.
  13. Thanks for the replies all. Would have loved access to more - however, free is good ?
  14. My first thought is if you had a drink package - when you are in a US port they have to charge tax on anything purchased - (glass of wine with lunch before sailaway, one last mimosa (or 3) at disembarkation breakfast, a latte with a couple extra shots of espresso to get through the morning, etc.)
  15. Is there a thermal spa suite on Liberty of the Seas? If so - I'm looking for any info on what is included and where it is located. I thought I had seen something about it somewhere - but cannot find anything on my cruise planner. When one of our previously scheduled RC cruises was canceled - I had a pass to the thermal suite on our replacement cruise on another line - and really enjoyed the suite (especially the jet pools and scented steam room!) - AND the nice big showers - so hoping there is something available
  16. We were following this story as it happened (and still) because my brother and sil are on the current shortened sailing. (Yes - last week was a bad week for cruise changes for our family) Plus we sailed on the Epic last year after our Adventure OTS cruise was canceled. The responses from people on board was very mixed - in fact I think most made the best of their cruise - some disappointment in missing ports - but felt they were taken care of. The biggest complaint we heard about was some of the delayed and lack of communication.
  17. we got a really good deal on this cruise- so the 50% off voucher (based on what we paid for this sailing) is nice - and we will use it - on our cruise on LOS next year it is not enough to cover rebooking in the next month or so for anything out of FLL/Miami. We've seen a few people get on NCL Jade or Carnival Victory - but they went fast. With a family of 4 - we weren't able to get on any similar date cruises in the area. I am still hopeful for our cruise next February.
  18. We have two connecting rooms booked like yours for a sailing in 2020. I was able to add both reservation numbers and see them - as well as Grandpa and Grandma are on our sailing as well and I was able to add their reservation number and see their info as well.
  19. last year (on another cruise line) we booked the Jamaican bobsled excursion - for both us and the kids (2 8 year old boys) - it was definitely memorable - high points included the ski - lift type ride through the rainforest and the observation area as well as the sports museum area at the top of the mountain. We did get rained on - it is the rain forest after all - but we definitely enjoyed it.
  20. I definitely understand - we booked our first RCI cruise just 3 months out - so were able to see right away (we go in a couple of weeks!) but booked our next one for Feb. 2020, and keep checking cruise planner to see if anything is available. Knowing we will probably purchase over Black Friday/Cyber Monday - but still want to see prices sooner.
  21. Our family enjoys geocaching both at home and when we travel. Does anyone have any experiences with Geocaches in ports? Next month we will be stopping in Nassau and Labadee. We weren't planning on getting off the ship in Nassau unless there is a cache worth finding. Next year's port stops are Roatan, Costa Maya and Cozumel. Thanks!
