  1. Our ocean view room on Enchantment didn't have a cooler/fridge. Do the older ships not have them?
  2. You can purchase your Next Cruise Open Booking/certificate in the app while you're on board. No need to schedule an appointment or go to the desk.
  3. I started cruising in the late 90s. I used my driver's license (married name) and my official state birth certificate (maiden name) until around 2005 when I got a passport. I never had a problem. My daughter in law has cruised RC twice in the last 4-5 years. She used her driver's license (married name) and her official state birth certificate (maiden name) with no problems (although I continue to recommend her and my son get passports). Just relaying our experiences.
  4. But it will "enhance" our cruise experience!
  5. Do many of RC cruises offer airport shuttles? How do you find out about availability?
  6. I've sailed on the Anthem for 3 Super Bowls pre-shut down. Although not a football fan, I still enjoyed watching some of it in the Royal Theatre where you could choose to sit on the side with other fans of your team. There were pretty good half-time type snacks along the back of the theatre (nachos, hot dogs, burgers, etc) and, of course, bar service. None of the commercials are seen, only the game, but there were giveaways of stuff during the commercial breaks. I found it to be sort of festive and fun.
  7. A previous post similar to this was a family with two older kids who did not want to sleep together on the couch that folded out. Could be the case this time, too.
  8. Years ago when cruising, it was not unusual to walk down cabin hallways and see red quarantine signs on cabin doors. One winter cruise it was particularly noticeable. Always some virus or another floating around.
  9. So do the crew members keep the cash tips for themselves? I used to assume that but I'm not so sure anymore. Maybe they get a portion of it?
  10. I brought a jar of home-canned bread & butter pickles 16 oz) through Port Liberty as part of a "Maryland " gift for friends who now live in Puerto Rico. It did not cause any issues, and if I remember correctly, I packed it in my checked suitcase. I've also brought on smaller bottles of elderberry syrup (12 oz?) in my carry on without question.
  11. I have a SIL cruising in September to Alaska, closed loop Seattle to Seattle. Her passport is being renewed and will not be back in time. She has been a US citizen for 40+ years but her BC is from Poland. Royal's travel documents info only mentions "state issued" birth certificates that I read. Anyone have any knowledge or experience with a similar situation?
  12. What a terrible experience. I'm so sorry your vacation was ruined.
  13. Wow. I mean, we're only talking about "okay" pizza.
  14. In February and June everyone was being waved in at Cape Liberty. No one was checking anything!
  15. Yep, in Maryland, go to your county Health Department and they will print you an official copy for a fee.
  16. "please just don’t insult me and try think I will believe that it is an enhancement for my benefit ! " Isn't that the truth!
  17. Same thing happened to my husband and I years ago. I remember having a bit of a struggle, for some reason, uploading our photos but was finally successful. When we got to the port, they snapped new photos of us. I haven't done our photos since as it's one less thing to worry about and as @WAAAYTOOO said, it only takes mere seconds for them to snap it.
  18. We, too, have cruised quite a bit out of Bayonne in January and February. I love leaving the cold weather, sometimes snow, once a "blizzard" (which delayed our departure a day or two) and heading south to warmer climates. And driving to the port (3+ hours) is so much better than flying. We like doing the 11 or 12 days itineraries.
  19. Possibly the sailings mentioned on this website might cause Solarium closures: https://loyaltoyoualways.com/news/yeshivaweek/
  20. We're on this one, too after a 3 day land tour. Looking forward to the cruise but dreading the flight from the East Coast.
  21. Thanks for trying to steer this thread back from the ridiculous direction it suddenly took...
  22. Well you could at least encourage them to try.
  23. But as long as they show up for dinner with their parents and keep in touch via text, it's fine...
