  1. Where are you seeing this. I'm on Odyssey 2/5 so maybe it's too far out for me.
  2. 26 and loved every day! 36 days to go till my next one.
  3. I'm on Odyssey in Feb. and wonder how the North Star reservations work. Is that something we'll be able to do in the app once onboard? Are there still no cost reservations? Thanks for any insight.
  4. We received an email this week that cruises for August and September will no longer be stopping at Labadee or San Juan. I can understand Labadee as there is so much turmoil in Haiti but wondering if anyone can share the reason behind skipping San Juan. I'm sure RCI did not make the decision lightly am not complaining....just curious.
  5. I find it more about atmosphere -- the food at the MDR is usually good and the service is great but it can feel a little busy and loud at times- depends a lot on where you are seated. A dinner at one of the other specialty restaurants is more date-like. When I cruise with my sister we always end the cruise with lunch at Chops. It's a relaxing last sea day.
  6. The Escape Room was so much fun. Well worth the $
  7. I went by myself on Symphony and had a great time. There were some groups & couples but also a couple singles.
  8. I did the galley/brunch on the AOS and Serenade and had a great time both times. Maybe because it was a smaller ship, the tour was at least 1/2 hour- we stopped and talked to the different stations, asking questions etc. I agree that the brunch itself was not extraordinary- it was good. Had a few mimosas and met wonderful, interesting people. I think the staff/guide can really make a difference- if they're into it and upbeat the experience can be worthwhile.
  9. You should be fine. I always throw in a a pair of earplugs in my travel bag. Keeps out all the possible noise.
  10. You can go to Guest Services with the "owner" of the credits and they sign a form giving you X amount of OBC. There's usually a long line at Guest Services the first day so you may want to wait.
  11. what day in Dec. I'm on her 12/1 & it's out of Miami.
  12. I'm wondering about a RC excursion- it's a boat ride to a coral reef "near Coco cay" Has anyone done this? Is it worth the $? Thanks.
  13. go to the top of this page and find the Cruise Compass. You then can select the ship ( Harmony ) and if you'll be on an Eastern or Western cruise. These are past Cruise Compass' so your sailing might be slightly different but it'll give you a good idea of what is offered. The briefing is usually about 1 or 2 pm the first day.
  14. Yes, Harmony of the Seas. It's the first one I've ever seen on a ship. Oasis is getting one in it's Amp this fall. I'll be on her in Dec. and definitely want to give it a try. It's $20 but, to me, it was worth it.
  15. On my 4/28 sailing the Escape Room never did appear in the cruise planner. We went to the Box Office ( a table set up outside of the Theater- Deck 4) on first day to reserve our spaces. It was great. highly recommend.
  16. On the Harmony last month. Over 6000 people aboard and I had the Solarium hot tub to myself for over 30 minutes. It had an infinity edge and was overlooking the mountains of Haiti. Beautiful. I had to leave before I fell asleep! There were nooks in Central Park where you could sit by yourself surrounded by plants. Also behind the Aqua Show pool - great Aft viewing and few visitors. The bars have differing venues and you can find "your" spot.
  17. I'm getting excited. On the 12/1 sailing. Glad they are adding an escape room- tried the one on HOS and it was a blast! Can't wait to see what the cover band will be like.
  18. I have seen others talk about different groups/clubs on cruises and even experienced the Elvis Tribute birthday celebration this past Jan. Is there a place to if there are any groups on a cruise? Thank you.
  19. I believe the Cruise Planner opens about 90 days out from your sailing but that number isn't exact. On my next cruise the My Time dining option opened at day 80 and the show reservations didn't open until day 59. You just have to keep checking. My cruise mate likes to eat early so if the traditional early seating isn't available, I set up My Time. I complete reservations on the Cruise Planner but I always stop at the MDR on Day 1 - there's someone there just for taking and discussing reservations- just to make sure everything is set. They have never not been able to accommodate us. If there's anything you find that you would like changed after the first night, just stop by the reservation person on your way out and they'll work it out. You'll find that the staff will go above and beyond to give you a great cruise. I call it the "Royal" treatment. Enjoy.
  20. I usually bring wine. I ask the room steward for a bucket of ice and glasses. I carry my own small cork screw but I've been told a steward can find you one if you need it. I keep the bottle in the ice bucket and usually pour a glass as I'm getting ready for dinner. I then carry my drink to the MDR. I find that the steward refreshes both the ice and glasses every day.
  21. It may not have all of the bells and whistles but I found Brilliance to be the prettiest ship I've been on and that includes the oasis class. There are windows everywhere letting in the sun and the Solarium is just beautiful. Because it's smaller you can easily find your way around and you get to know the staff and fellow cruisers. You'll have a great time if you go with a relaxed attitude. We're on Harmony next month as we wanted to see the bigger shows but I would defiantly sail Brilliance again.
  22. I'd like to piggy back on CapitalKyle's post with another first time diamond question. I read in the C & A perk site that 3 drinks were downloaded onto your card each day. Does this happen automatically or do you have to go to the diamond lounge to gt them? 4/28 will be my sister's first cruise as a diamond (I'm not) - she's not a big drinker but likes a glass of wine at dinner. Will she be able to have one without being charged? Thank you all.
  23. Where do you find the staff comment cards? I have learned to take a photo of the persons name tag so I can comment on them in my review after the cruise but I didn't realize there was an additional way to recognize there great service.
