@Neesa I can't answer about whether RC accepts copies. But the county I live in allows you to request an original birth certificate via mail (would probably need to get the request notarized), or via a company called Vital Check. You might want to see what the options are for the county you relocated from.

Our 11-night sailing on Vision was a $450/p deposit. Our past sailings on Freedom & Adventure (all 7-night) were $250/p.

That's a good bonus! But of course, the number of points needed to travel could increase once normal travel traffic returns. I've noticed the number of points needed for my more frequently flown routes has increased over the years. Southwest also has a shopping portal where you can purchase items and a variety of gift cards using your Rapid Reward points. So it's almost, sort of, a little bit like cash, so you're not stuck with just flight credits. I used all my points loading up on Starbucks and Target gift cards so it's like free shopping and coffee trips for me! ?

I thought at some airports they allowed "walk-ins." Like if you happened to already be at the airport you could stop by and see if they could take you. Of course that would only be convenient if you lived close to participating airport, and I wouldn't be surprised if they've stopped doing this with the pandemic happening.

Yep, OBC gets credited back immediately. Credit card purchases have a few days wait (in normal times).

Nooooo don't say this! Don't put this idea out into the universe lol Vision's future with Royal needs to last until at least December 2021 once our sailing is complete ?

What do I need to know about booking connecting rooms?
KJones replied to Mikeb1892's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Since you have an adult booked in each room, I think you might also be able to get away with bringing 2 bottles of wine per stateroom, for a total of 4 bottles. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong ? -
There's another thread regarding this over in the News/Rumors section:

Coco Cay Thrill Park - recent price?
KJones replied to dandi799's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I think $79 is a pretty good price for an August/summer cruise. Our September cruise was about $60 I think. But you'll see lots of other threads on here where the price was higher than $79 once the park opened and every one loved it (particularly for summer sailings). In my (limited) experience, the best CP excursion deals were during the 2-6 months before the cruise. So if you were to lock in the price now, the better price might not come until after things (hopefully!) settle down and refunds are issued with normal/ reasonable wait times again. -
Cruise Planner Purchases for late fall 2021
KJones replied to Clear Laker's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
FWIW, there aren't any 'sales' going on for our November 2021 cruise. -
Harmony also has a dedicated escape room

Book excursions for late August cruise or continue to wait?
KJones replied to olie5's topic in Shore Excursions
Agreed. Neither by looking at percentage off or comparing dollar amounts showed any real "savings" once I hit final payment date.- 7 replies

Book excursions for late August cruise or continue to wait?
KJones replied to olie5's topic in Shore Excursions
It might be different now with covid changing everything, but once we hit final payment for our Harmony cruise last September, our available shore excursions never really went on sale again. There might have been a couple that were advertised as "20% off" but the majority were 10% off if they were on sale at all. Just our experience.- 7 replies

Yes there are loungers with umbrellas all over the island, including Chill Island, that are free.

LIFT & SHIFT! THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD USE A TRAVEL AGENT!
KJones replied to Baked Alaska's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I thought group hugs aren't allowed anymore? ? -
But try to get a rate with free cancellation! Allows you to cancel without penalty should your cruise be cancelled, and you can cancel/rebook if you see the rates go down in the interim.

2021 Travel LAX and Retun - Venice or Rome
KJones replied to M First's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
As others have mentioned, it is far too early to tell what routes and fares will be next summer. However, having flown from the west coast to Italy several times, I've noticed Venice tends to have higher fares than flying out of Milan or Rome, and always requires a layover. I believe there are direct flights from LAX to/from Milan and Rome (or at least prior to the pandemic). -
There's a new blog post that addresses this https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2020/04/29/royal-caribbean-says-no-doctors-note-will-be-required-cruise-once-sailings-resume

There are plenty of loungers scattered throughout the water park. The majority are by the wave pool, but the adventure pool and splash summit (smaller water slide structure) have some as well. Between every two/three loungers there is an umbrella too. We snagged a couple of loungers by the wave pool in the early morning and made that our meet up point for the rest of the day.

Help Choosing Next Ship? (Feb 2021)
KJones replied to jessicamlewis518's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
+1 to Harmony! Though full disclosure, haven't been on Oasis or Allure to compare it to :) -
Roatan - we enjoyed the Gumbalimba Park tour with Zipline adventure (purchased through RCL, but I believe it's also available directly through the park). Included the zipline, monkeys/ macaws/ park tour, and beach time. There is a small cafe with limited food/ drink options. I think there is also a fresh water pool, and you could rent snorkel/scuba equipment. Cozumel - we opted for the Chichen Itza Ruins since we weren't sure if we would ever make a trip to the Yucatan other than another cruise stop. The history is fascinating (at least to me) and I'm glad I did it despite the long travel time and limited time spent at the ruins. If doing this tour, DEFINITELY book through RCL. Costa Maya - made reservations at Maya Chan Resort (not an RCL excursion) and was worth beyond what we paid. Friendliest staff, great (and constant) drinks and food. Fresh water pool is AMAZING. There was a seagrass issue (this was soon after Dorian) and they gave us a few options - automatic refund, or going to the resort and seeing for ourselves and offering to return us to port with a full refund if we didn't want to stay. We opted to stay and had the most relaxing time. Kayaks, SUPs, floats and (maybe) snorkel gear were included. Massages available for an additional fee.

I don't believe the Guarantee Rooms ("We Pick") offer a refundable option. -
Maryland doesn't want to be outdone with the stupidity

lol don't bother. Here in SF the delivery companies are now requiring someone to be present to sign for deliveries of TP. Too many people are stealing them off their neighbors' porches. ? -
May 3rd OASIS - Cozumel Mexico excursion
KJones replied to Rene Desmarais's topic in Shore Excursions
I enjoyed this excursion! Yes the travel time takes a significant chunk of your day, but the site if fascinating and our guides were great. I would have preferred to have spent an entire day at the site, but that's only possible if you are staying for a a few days on the mainland. I recommend the RCL excursion only if you don't plan on ever booking a multi-day trip to the Yucatan. If you think you might take a trip on your own in the future, then this excursion isn't worthwhile. -
When does the last payment need to be made?
KJones replied to CaptainPanda's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Not sure about shorter / longer cruises, but for 7-night cruises it's 90 days from sail date.
