  1. Please, if you are going to quote me, do it accurately. At least use the entire sentence.
  2. Your opnion on his is clear, as is mine. However in this case I am honestly relaying what I was told. No, I did not talk to all crew. The ones that seemed to really not care seemed to be the people in the stores on the Promade. The 10 or so crew I spoke with basically said the same thing. And if you think about it without our obvious bias, it makes sense. If I could have talked to more crew about it, I would have. Most of these conversations were started when someone went by without a mask, I have no control over what is or is not deleted. But I posted this with no agenda other than to repeat what I was told. I would have done the same thing if they told me they thought the mask rules were stupid. You do not know me, but anyone that does would confirm that I absolutely would, whether I agreed with it or not. You and I have gone round and round enough, neither of us is going to convince the other, and I have no intention of trying anymore\. I cannot let myself get into that kind of discussion right now, as I just found out my Daughter has COVID. Right now I am far too angry to discuss who is right or wrong, I would be kicked out of most any group, so I will not do it. So if your criteria to believe this is a survey of 100% of the crew, I cannot meet that. If that means this has to be deleted, then so be it. But what I am saying is an accurate presentation of my experiences last week.
  3. By the way, you do realize that the rules you agreed to say you will wear a mask indoors at all times, not just when you think you should. Assuming the masks work, I assume you are exhaling at times, thus possibly contaminating the air. Assuming they do not work, you are intentionally ignoring the rules. That is the disrespect that the crew were talking about. Do you think that the passengers or crew you encounter don't see what you are doing? You are pretending to follow the rules, when you intentionally are not. My point is, your comfort level, politics, scientific conclusions, or anything else do not matter to this conversation. Either follow the rules or don't cruise. Pretending to follow them when it is convenient for you is exactly the same as not following them at all.
  4. Sadly, this is true. There are now people creating anti-ear muff groups. At least one group has left the word ear out and understand why they are attracting the kind of members they are.
  5. You are totally ignoring my point. It doesn't. matter if anyone thinks or even can prove that masks are or or not helpful. The crew's job is still the same and until it changes, you have to wear masks. When you step on the ship you have agreeded to wear them. What I am saying is what a number of crew, an officer, and a customer service manager has told me. They have to enforce thesevrules and feel frustrated with and disrespected by the number of people who won't follow a simple and clear rule. The crew isv rom all over the world, and many are laughing at how ridiculous Americans are being. One said something like you have so many freedoms, but you choose to waste it this way? Some are worried about their own health, and sad that so many of the passangers don't care at all.
  6. To quote the 5 man Electrical Band, you are absolutly rightt. There, I just put in here instead.
  7. Ok, sure I'm still buzzed from the amazing drinks from Maya Chan today. But I am blown away by the place. If you want fancy, elegant, pretentious or even picturesque then Maya Chan might not be for you. If you want private, fun, great food, great drinks, a place that will really make you feel like you are part of the family except the will wait on you hand and foot and you don't have to do the dishes, you need to try this place. If you can't tell, they blew me away with the vibe and service. Costa Maya has never been an interesting port to me, now it is one of my favorites. I have been to much more upscale places with great service. But from the moment you find their spot at the port (which is admittedly not easy) they make you feel special, important and welcome. Basically, if your ship ever stops at Costa Maya, go to Maya Chan.
  8. I am, regardless of how others act. I have honestly always approached this subject based on my opnion. This crew has taught me neither my or anyone else's opnion are the real issue on the ship. It's not even about other passange4s feeling comfortable, it's about their jobs.
  9. No they are not. I talked to a manager in customer service who told me this group of passengers ate particularly non compliant, so I think they would be happy just to get people to wear masks on the Prominade.
  10. By the way, I showed this to a crew member before posting it, and he thanked me.
  11. I am sure Matt will delete this if it turns into an argument about masks, and that is not what this is about. I am currently on Adventure and the crew I have spoken with are very frustrated. If you choose not to wear a mask, all you can do is hurt the crew. And I am not talking about giving anyone COVID. If you compliment the crew for not enforcing the rules, that is not a good thing in RCCL's eyes. If, as they are, other people complain that the crew is not enforcing the mask rules, that hurts them too. Their job is to enforce it, no matter what you or they think. Many that I have spoken with, especially officers, are very frustrated. They can't win. They see you when you put on the mask, walk ten steps and take it off, thinking you ate so smart and they ate so stupid. They are not. They are frustrated and simply trying to do and keep their jobs. Please, it's not polotical or even science, it's their jobs.
  12. If I get one of those I think I will cut it and try to melt the end so it doesn't frey. So if you hear about a passenger on a cruise ship suffering burns on their wrist, it'll probably be me.
  13. I have never understood why RCCL doesn't realize with their "team" structure, the shore side teams aren't even playing the same games as the other teams and have no idea what game they are playing, yet ship side works so well. More than once I have seen the people on board trying to resolve a problem but being blocked from doing so by shore side. But, I still like RCCL.
  14. I'm not sure how this happened, but I seriously it was an intentional thing. I think it is possible you made a mistake, we all do things sometimes that we are sure we did or did not do and it turns out we are wrong. But I also think it could be an issue with RCCLs computer system, something that is far to common. If you look through these posts, you will find that RCCLs IT department has earned a reputation that it would rather not have.
  15. It's interesting that this thread was about someone that didn't know the rules and was forced to follow them, which became a great disappointment and embarrassment, and turned into someone telling everyone they don't have to follow the rules. Think about what happened to the original poster before trying to get around or ignoring RCCLs protocols.
  16. You are correct, I let him get to me. I'm done. Sorry again.
  17. Do you actually believe that the rule does not require you to actually go on that tour? I honestly did not think you did, that you were just trying to justify your behavior. The rule is very, very clear. If you actually don't understand that, I really don't know what to say to you.
  18. Honestly, after reading your posts, I wouldn't believe you if you said the sky was blue. Those descriptions make no difference. But why would the descriptions even matter? According to you, the rules don't require you to actually go on the tour anyway. It's clear that you feel that you do not have to follow the clearly stated rules. Stop trying to justify it, own it.
  19. Well, I might want it to happen to someone.
  20. Wow. That's all that I can think to say that won't get me in trouble. Wow. But wait, that might be the explanation. You don't follow the rules because they are beyond your comprehension. You need to learn to ask someone when you don't understand things.
  21. Apparently you never learned that the world is not based on you and your thoughts or feelings. SO let me be the first to tell you, it doesn't. Neither I nor RCCL care what you think about science or the CDC. RCCL makes the rules and if you go on a cruise you agree to follow them. All. Period. No matter what you believe, think or feel. And read the actual rules and laws for most of these countries, especuially when it comes to unvaccinated people. Apparently they made their rules without consulting you. If you don't want to follow the rules, don't go.
  22. Nope. Not gonna say it. But it is a place where they find fault in ships that carry passengers.
  23. They probably have read the comments and realize they are not going to get the sympathy they were seeking, even in this nice place. I hope they don't try it in the other place, it might get brutal.
