  1. Just had a thought. If masks are required onboard does that mean we can all temporarily agree that shorts in the MDR are fair game. If we’re all going to look ridiculous we might as well suspend any dress code.
  2. As tests proliferate people show positive that are asymptomatic. Those people are then put through contact tracing and their contacts are tested.
  3. I could see it being required to show up until you are confirmed clean. But then hopefully put it back in your bag.
  4. Can you imagine the guests walking around in full formal wear like tuxedos and also being in a mask?
  5. Not sure how you warm you guys are getting north of the border, but we’re finding out quick here in DC that 92 degrees and oppressive humidity don’t mix well with a mask.
  6. I don’t think if we see either masks or table guests limits that it will be a big issue as the number of guests onboard will also be severely limited. So you may go from 6 to 3 on a blackjack table but on an Oasis class ship you may got to 3 or 4 thousand passengers.
  7. Yes. Currently out in Vegas for employees if you pop on the scan you can either turn around or sit down for 15 minutes and go through again. If after that you are still above the threshold they give you secondary screening. if there’s not a million false positives when it’s 110 degrees in Vegas we should survive coming back from the beach in Nassau.
  8. Gotta keep changing the rules so no one can keep up https://giphy.com/gifs/warnerarchive-warner-archive-the-deadly-trackers-l2Je0SXEORW59KzwQ
  9. I remember my grandmother carrying one of those for the trip she took us on from the DC area up to Cooperstown, NY.
  10. As only symphony is showing it right now I wouldn’t judge that as being an indicator. Now being out of NYC and in August, that’s a whole other story.
  11. On Fremont street in Vegas they have walk through metal detectors that have been converted to temperature scanners.
  12. Wasn’t everyone being on top of each other the problem in the Ozarks a couple of weeks ago?
  13. If you were to place bets on where the Thermal Scanners will be, what will you guess? I’ll go obvious first, boarding door, right before the hand washing stations at the windjammer, and theatre.
  14. There must have been one time and it was probably a very traumatizing experience for her ?
  15. I don’t think nearly any of us will ever see this. It’ll be a requirement this year and fall by the wayside next year.
  16. Apple Pay and phone mobile payments getting proliferated to places we never thought they would may be one of the top things to come out of this “new normal” it’s so great not to dig in my pockets, get out a card, touch a terminal. Just hit a button twice on my watch, hold it near the terminal, and.. paid.
  17. I think our Canadian friends would beg to differ. They’ve been restricted from inter-province travel for months. And this is the same requirement Hawaii has put in place, also the same as Florida put in place for anyone from the New York area. I totally get it with Alaska and Hawaii as they basically are foreign countries, there are already very different rules for what you can bring into Hawaii without violating agriculture laws.
  18. The last time a ship with that few passengers got this much coverage it was these guys.
  19. They didn’t say you couldn’t travel, just to bypass the quarantine you need to show a negative test.. I’m not sure where you are, but in Maryland you almost seemingly can’t swing a cat without passing a testing center that anyone can get a test at. I’d gladly go to one today if it means I could cruise tomorrow.
  20. I just wish I could become the guy who could develop a five minute test. Just imagine, you walk in the door of the terminal, through some Disney-esque people directing gates, and by the time you hit the check in desk it already knows that you are negative, opens the gates and lets you check in.
  21. I think I’m the past others have been able to apply a FCC to a cruise that was already Paid in full and got a refund cash credit back for the debit balance. I’m think it might have been @Lovetocruise2002 who did it.
  22. The casino could be open in US waters, it just would require a US gaming license and a slew of taxes that wouldn’t be advantageous.
  23. I think as with emissions standards, the most restrictive regulations win out. RC won’t be able to say, hey we’re in international waters we can do what we want and then come back to a US port like nothing was wrong
  24. In Vegas they have put a limit of four people on a roulette table. Traditional card games are three per table, and 3 to a side for six total on craps.
  25. That’s precisely why almost all of the footage is from “independent” properties, like the video above is from Cosmo which owned by Blackstone (at least today it’s up for sale and there’s rumors of the tribe who owns the hard rock brand buying it) or down on Freemont in the Boyd or Derek Stevens properties.
