GlowTheWeird reacted to Zambia-Zaire in Royal Caribbean Makes Change After Receiving Feedback from Booked Guests !!!
I completely disagree....it should have NEVER come to this. Royal should have simply honored the booking for those booked before the announcement & discontinued the perk from that point on, from further booking.

Great idea!

I simply reserved one item under my daughter.

You have to call them to book the second one. I had the same thing happen to me when I tried to book the Waterpark and balloon ride in the same day thru the cruise planner. A simple phone call and they booked the second one for me.

GlowTheWeird reacted to Matt in Eat....Drink.....Discover..... Being discontinued
The more I thought about it today, the more I can see the point of those that booked 2020 sailings and getting just $50 in lieu of the perks. Yes, $50 is better than nothing, but it would have been a better transition away from this if they just said "okay, everyone that booked as of today gets it and that's it."

You are mistaken. Hindsight is 20/20 and to blame Royal Caribbean in any way for not being able to predict future weather with 100% preciseness is plain silly. Frankly, you're being extremely unrealistic.

Not denying it sucks. I live in a hurricane area and been through some awful storms.
When we book a cruise during hurricane season this is what can happen. 25% for a weather event is pretty damn good. At the end of the day Royal Caribbean is a business and if as long as they look out for safety this is what cruise lines do...

GlowTheWeird reacted to Henry in Cruise this weekend from Miami to Nassau & Perfect Day at Coco Cay - HURRICANE DORIAN
Good for you. but royal Caribbean knew way ahead of time we was not going to be able to go to coco cay and still allow the cruise to continue. I’m monitoring this storm way before we sail and I leave in miami I knew we were on the path of the hurricane with a lot anticipation so royal Caribbean knew too. And yes it’s not enough because I pay premium and a lot of money just to go to coco cay. I could get another cruise for half of what I pay if I want just be on the ship and do nothing. But hope you enjoy your vacation. And if they cancel it and don’t give nothing back you should be ok and graceful to royal Caribbean for your amazing vacation.

GlowTheWeird got a reaction from Fuzzywuzzy in Post cruise survey
Yes! I had spoken to one of the crew about the same, they get time off preference the higher the ratings so I really wanted to do them right by it. I am probably over thinking it but also, I don’t like the wording of it

GlowTheWeird reacted to Fuzzywuzzy in Post cruise survey
I had a chat with our head server last year on Anthem about this. He didn't exactly ask for a high rating, just for us to complete the survey truthfully. But he did tell me that after a number of consistent high ratings there is a reward. They get a day off. And to them that's like a treasure chest of gold.

So my cancellation now that I read the letter was that the ship was chartered. (Disappointing to hear it may not be a dry dock, I had heard that the Enchantment was for sale tho- May be a rumor) They offered the following:

GlowTheWeird reacted to ChessE4 in Post cruise survey
I agree with @BunnyHutt and @GlowTheWeird . You only say "yes" if they told you to mark a 10 or some specific number. Royal wants the crew to encourage survey responses. Yes, everyone should complete the survey so that the data are more reliable, and hopefully, valid. What Royal doesn't want is someone trying to coerce you into giving a high rating. Early on in the cruise the wait staff should say that they want to exceed your expectations, and they should find out what you really like so that they can excel. So it is important to give the staff feedback along the way. I have been at the other side of all this -- trying very hard to get surveys turned in to improve the program I directed. We used to say that feedback is a gift....
My only criticism of the Royal surveys is the lack of a section for comments, like at the very end. They ask for names of staff members, but I couldn't find a way to say 3 to 5 important things about the cruise. That is what they are missing...they only seem to go down that road for Coco Cay.

GlowTheWeird got a reaction from twangster in Post cruise survey
They mentioned the survey yes, but they didn’t mention giving a ‘positive rating’ so then is the truth no. Haha

When in doubt go with the truth. Did they mention the survey? If so, then yes.

Well one thing for sure...it would be wonderful news to truly hear Liberty ots, based on the West Coast.

GlowTheWeird reacted to Vancity Cruiser in West Coast Cruising
I've heard an unverified rumour (from a reliable source) that Royal has plans for a private island in Mexican Riviera and a new home on the west coast for Liberty once the new Oasis sized terminal is built in Galveston. Fingers crossed.
