  1. There's a lot of variety in travel insurance. I aim to purchase mine within 14 days of my initial deposit so that I can have Cancel For Any Reason protection (CFAR). You can purchase your insurance up until the time you leave. It's a good idea to cover your trip door-to-door, which will cover your trip from the minute you leave your house to the minute you get home. If I get in an accident on the way to the port or airport and can't make the sailing, I want coverage. It's also important for me to have coverage for major medical when outside the country, and coverage to get me back to the US if something happens overseas. While my own health insurance does cover me, it would all be out-of-network, and they certainly wouldn't pay to get me back by medivac if needed! But not everyone needs/wants that kind of coverage and maybe just want to cover the sailing. That's why there's no one answer. I like to purchase off of tripinsurance.com, but there are many insurance aggregation sites. Check out a few and see what works for you. I haven't found that the insurance provided by the cruise line covers more than the days you are actually on the ship (you may be able to add onto it, but I don't want the hassle), so I always buy 3rd party.
  2. Possibly, although it's also an Interstate Highway. In any case, no matter whose jurisdiction it belongs to, anybody close would respond lights and sirens and block it off.
  3. The Mayland State Police have jurisdiction, however locals will respond to any emergent situation. The State Police get to write the report.
  4. For 100% certain? No. But if you look at past Cruise Compasses for Radiance, it's been offered. And it's so popular that I can't remember the last time I DIDN'T see it offered on a ship. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/cruise-compass?ship=287
  5. I wouldn't wait. The price is likely to go up and negate your discount anyway, and your choice of rooms won't be as good.
  6. I wouldn't wait. It could (probably will) sell out before sailing.
  7. Children are welcome in Solarium Bistro. They are allowed to walk into the Solarium to get into the venue.
  8. Has anyone seen this 3rd time roll out yet on any new bookings?
  9. I'm so jealous. Even though I was already on Icon. I really miss her.
  10. You can cancel up to 48 hours prior to the excursion, so it's reasonable to choose a back up.
  11. No. You can do up to 3 specialty restaurants with the 3-night package. IF you choose one of the restaurants as an a la carte, you have a $20 stipend. It is, in my opinion, not worth it to use one of your 3 at an a la carte venue. I'd just pay those separately if you want since they are so much cheaper.
  12. Only you can determine if a package is worth it to you based on how many sodas/coffees/juices/water you get per day. I haven't seen the alcohol drink card in a while, but that's just me. I enjoy the convenience of a package. I don't like to have to remember how many whatever I still have left per day or per week. But some people are totally ok with that.
  13. If it helps at all (and it might not), the elevators on Icon are MUCH bigger than on any of their other ships. Never once did we have more than 2 other people with on any elevator at any time of day. Most of the time it was just me or me and Mr. SpeedNoodles.
  14. June is a long way away, and the final MDR menu/order is often not correct on the app until much closer to sailing. Also, RC doesn't read these.
  15. If you check in on the app you can just choose your arrival time and do the rest later.
  16. I stayed at Novatel in Brikell in 2019 (It was called something else at the time) and felt comfortable walking to the Publix/Walgreens on 13th St. during the day. I would have felt fine about it at night, too, if I'd had one person with me.
  17. I actually bring a small bluetooth speaker and play the sounds through my phone that way. There are free/reasonably priced sleep sound apps available.
  18. They typically don't touch the staterooms during the refurbishments, and after looking at 2024 YouTube videos of the cabins, this refurb was no different.
  19. You can call the Crown & Anchor Society directly at (800) 526-9723.
  20. There's no specific time. I've seen it available more than a year out, and not until about 10 months out. Just keep checking.
  21. We stayed at Harbor House, and it was fantastic. We saw dolphins from our room every day. So many places to eat within walking distance. And, although they had not advertised it, they provided a complimentary shuttle to the port, which was a great surprise.
  22. I could sort of see you guys on the Port Miami cam when Oasis turned away in the basin. Or, it could have just been my imagination, but I ran with it.
