  1. Food can be purchased there. I opted not to eat because nothing really appealed to me that day (I left the island by on the first boat out and I typically don't eat until 3 or 4pm anyway). I didn't think prices were unreasonable, but I couldn't give you an actual number because my memory is just crap. The hammocks seemed to be available to everyone - nobody was monitoring that part of the beach looking for wristbands or anything, so I'm sure you can use them no matter what encounter you book there.
  2. On the RCBlog Dining page on FB someone said this is a change made by the vending machine suppliers and not really Royal. Either way, I have no idea what to do with the one I have from Feb, and collecting 2-3 a year is just going to be a pain, so I really don't care which kind I throw away.
  3. Ha, not a problem, it's usually me who forgets to post links! I was just catching up on the forum/website and happened to have just read it.

  5. Miami is actually cheaper than FLL for me to fly into for some reason. I've been checking both, and I'm sure it's subject to change.
  6. Who knew you were so influential? They are all gone from mine as well!
  7. The ER didn't have enough numbers on its calculator for that one. They're still working on it.
  8. They were pretty confused about the whole program back in Feb. It was pretty chaotic. Still, I'd do it again on the right cruise.
  9. We have Center Ice - I always choose the non-LA feed because I just want to punch him every time he opens his mouth.
  10. Jim Fox (LA Kings color commentator) <--- worse than any of them
  11. They were never in it this year to begin with. I"m much more likely to watch the coastal teams than our team here, since the Wild's upper management has never had any interest in building a winning team (Why should they? The arena has been selling past capacity since the team began, and there's a wait list of 5 years for season tickets. Why should they bother putting effort or money into them?). I'm looking forward to Seattle's team starting, since we'll be moving out that way anyway.
  12. On our Canada/NE cruise on the Jewel in 2004 we were on the younger end of the average age of the non-crew ship inhabitants. We were selected to be on stage for the "Love and Marriage" game. I ended up giving a fairly risque answer to one of the questions during the game. I don't recall if we won the game or not. What I DO recall was the realization the next day that I had gained instant ship fame because they kept playing the recording of the game over and over and over on the TV in everyone's staterooms the rest of the week. The entire rest of the cruise I kept getting winked at, side-eyed, slapped on the back, and high-fived everywhere on the ship. "Hey, you're the girl from the "Love and Marriage Show ....". (To reflect back on that cruise, and my earlier response to this post, at least they didn't have footage of my pathetic attempt at ping pong on the ship. As it is my husband won't ever let me forget that fiasco).
  13. That works even better. Thanks for the clarification!
  14. So to clarify (because I'm trying to decide how to play this one), if I book a non-refundable fare on cruise X and I cancel I lose all $500 (the deposit for 2 people). But if I just change the sailing to cruise Y I really only lose $200? (the refundable fare is $1000 more, I'm thinking that changing it to non-refundable would be a better gamble).
  15. I dined alone in the MDR while solo cruising. I rarely waited long for anything - they had me in and out pretty quickly. I think my longest meal was 45 minutes. For me it was better than having food at the Windjammer, getting up to get more food and finding that my place had been taken and there was nowhere else to sit.
  16. Welcome to the forum!! Le Club Voyage is Azamara cruise line's loyalty program. Captain's Club is the Celebrity cruise line's loyalty program. Both lines are owned by Royal Caribbean corporation.
  17. My rejection email came the morning of my cruise sailing.
  18. Omg, I wish they still showed fares this way (with the difference between non-refundable and refundable deposits) instead of making you go through the entire reservation process before you see that your refundable fare is $500 more (in my last case).
  19. The best option is doing your research and knowing exactly what you WANT to be covered and finding a policy that covers it. Different policies cover different things. For instance, while many people may not need this protection, I personally need "cancel for work reasons" due to the fact that my work can rescind my PTO last minute. I should consider "cancel for any reason" due to the fact that insurance doesn't usually consider "pet sitter backed out" to be an emergency. Some people wouldn't need this. Some websites (there are a few) will give you a quote from a variety of providers with different levels of coverage. Sites like insuremytrip.com and tripinsurance.com are just two - others may have different suggestions. The key is, as boring as it is, read and know what it covers before you purchase it.
  20. Hmmm.... we retire in June 2024. Sounds like a great retirement cruise!
