  1. What does the snorkel gear consist of? Is it just a mask, snorkel and fins?
  2. 1. Is there any limit to how many bags we can bring (We're driving to port so no flight checking charges to worry about) ? 2. Am I correct in assuming we receive luggage tags ahead of our cruise? 2a. If so, how many? 3. Do we tag our carry ons? 4. If we don't want to carry our bags off the ship at the end of our cruise, where do we pick them up, and how long until they are available for pick up after disembarking? 5. If we bring formalwear and pack it in a luggage type hanging garment bag, will the baggage handlers take care to keep it from getting folded and wrinkled?
  3. We'll be sure to keep our carry ons in a separate location in our vehicle. Great tip. Should we be tipping the porters? If we arrive in the terminal by 1030, what time can we expect to board the ship without the key package?
  4. Sounds good. Thanks for the tip @whenismynextcruise
  5. It would be much better if it was only two of us there. Thanks for the info @RWDW1204.
  6. Anyone have experience with water taxi?
  7. We (Oasis OTS) are scheduled to be there with Mariner and Independence on 7-21. Both of the others show arriving at 7 am, with us arriving at 9 am. I'm guessing this will me that we'll have to tender?
  8. Great info, thank you. As for the USB extension cord, I was more thinking to power a USB powered fan overnight that will be sitting next to the bed. I would plug the extension into our USB hub so power shouldn't be an issue. I'll keep your tip in mind when arriving at the port. I don't want to get torn a new one!
  9. Are the taxis regulated by some form of government? What is the chance that we'll be robbed? What about water taxis?
  10. Appreciate all of the responses. We've never been and would definitely like to check it out at least once. I'm leaning towards one of the excursions through RCL, am I crazy?
  11. From what I see online, our ship (Oasis OTS) is the only ship in port that day. There are (3) other 7+ day cruises that depart from Cape Liberty in the 6 days prior to our sailing. We're planning on staying close to port the night before so we can be there basically anytime. What is the earliest that we should/could arrive?
  12. What time do I need to get to port to ensure that we can park in the parking garage as opposed to the surface lot?
  13. 1. How do we get there and back from/to the port? 1a. Is any transportation method safer than another? 1b. What about reliability? Once there, we would be interested in seeing the aquariums and casino. 2. Do we need day passes for this? 3. If so where is the best place to purchase them? 4. How long will it take us to see all of the aquarium features (we would be moving along at a moderate pace, not stopping to read all of the information posted)? 5. Is USD accepted everywhere at Atlantis and the transportation method to/from, or will we need to exchange our money? Thanks.
  14. 1. What time will we be allowed into our room (we are doing Key package)? 2. Are we allowed to bring USB extension cords (usb male and female ends only, no outlet end)?3. Can I exchange USD to Bahamian dollars on the ship? If so, is this necessary (our only foreign non-RCL port is Freeport and we're only planning on going to Atlantis)? Is there an exchange fee (right now per Google the exchange rate is 1 USD = 1 BSD)?4. Will I be issued a Card or wrist band for use on the ship?5. If we have the deluxe beverage package, will the ship deliver bottled water to our room?6. If we purchase the Unlimited Dining Package, are we limited to what we can get at each restaurant on each visit (for instance, could I order (2) different entrees from Chops during the same visit)?7. Aside from the Casino and shopping outside of the ship, will I need cash on my person for anything else? What about if we want to tip extra?8. Anyone have any suggestions on where to park at Cape Liberty?
  15. So you can save money on cruises as well?
  16. What sales (if any) should I expect to see on Black Friday? I've read about drink packages, but is anything else priced better on Black Friday?
  17. What exactly is VOOM? I assume it is the onboard wifi, but how exactly does it work?
  18. My apologies for the confusion on this. Our boys will not be traveling with us on the ship. We are wondering how we'll stay in contact with them while we are sailing and they are home. If possible, we'd prefer to actually call them as opposed to texting or video chatting. Does Anthem have cell service when it is out of port? If so is it available anywhere on the ship or only in certain areas? I don't believe there is a VPN client? Once I have an internet connection, I click on my network icon on my task bar, the network sidebar opens, and there is an option for VPN. I click that and click connect, and then it connects directly to my corporate server. I apologize for my ignorance on this, but hopefully I've answered this question?
  19. Upfront info: wife and I cruising on Anthem from NJ. Either in a Junior or Grand Suite. Moody likely 7 or 8 day Florida and Bahamas. 1. What other costs will I have in addition to the total price the website shows me (assuming we do NOT buy any items including food and beverages that are an extra cost)? 2. Can we bring a fan that plugs in with a regular power cord (for white noise)? 3. Can we bring a power extension cord? 4. We both use Galaxy Note 8's through Verizon for cell phones. What are our options for talking to our kids (12 y/o with a cell phone and 6 y/o) who will be staying with my technology hindered parents? 5. I will have my laptop and may need to VPN in to work. Is this possible, and what is the best method (Wifi vs direct network cable vs cell hotspot vs ?)? 6. What other questions should I have?
  20. This is me also. I've never cruised but would so like to try one. I had a prescription for the patch in the past but never tried it as I read it had Sulfa in it, and I'm allergic to Sulfa (at least I was when I was younger, would get a rash). I think I'm just going to have to go and see what happens!
  21. This sounds exactly like staying Deluxe at WDW. Once you do, it is so hard going to a Mod or Value resort!
