  1. just lather up the sides of the shower and twist around! All Clean!!
  2. I know that this could very well be one of the "RC Tech Issues"...but I noticed that on the RC app, El Loco Fresh on the Navigator is noted as a specialty restaurant. Please, someone tell me that this is wrong information and that I can get all the "FREE" tacos I want starting July 8...
  3. Shouldn't that actually be Shippy McShipface of the Seas? since it's NOT a boat? LOL
  4. Different port...but twice we've cruised and rented a car after the cruise and driven around (in Fort Lauderdale and Lauderdae-by-the-Sea) until time for our 7 and 7:30pm flights.
  5. YES. We don't use a TA. I just call RC if anything needs re-priced.
  6. are they open air? or in a building?
  7. If you still want to travel with family, check the same cruise, but maybe two adjoining non-suite rooms. It would give you the extra space and another bathroom, and might be less expensive? Or even a room with bunks? Just a thought.
  8. It is NOW not negotiable for me, either.
  9. Our first cruise we went to CHEAP and last minute...so we had an interior room. I was miserable... the whole time...seasick. I decided I WOULD NEVER CRUISE AGAIN. Plus I'm claustrophobic. But honestly, all we did was sleep and get ready in the room. We were NEVER in the room. BUT, ff two years and we looked at cruises for our 25th anniversary. The only way I would go was if we could splurge a bit and try a balcony to see if that helped my seasickness and claustrophobi. I don't know if it was the balcony, or the LACK of dramamine...but it was a much better cruise. We, or should I say EYE, am hooked on cruises. After much research, I believe on that first cruise, I MADE MYSELF SEASICK by taking non-drowsy dramamine every day, even if I didn't realize I didn't need it. So, yes, like others have said, it is definitely a personal choice. We have friends who cruise 2-3 times a year and they tried a balcony and hated it because it was money they couldn't spend on an excursion/drinks/extras.
  10. And don't they include a list in your stateroom of all your "benefits".
  11. My suggestion is to take me. ? Seriously tho, how long of a cruise is it? What kinds of things do you usually like to do?
  12. I haven't been to either, as of yet, but I remember way more threads/posts here regarding Atlantis. Hopefully someone can comment who has been to one or both. I will say tho that for the most part, you don't really need to be overly concerned regarding car seats. I say this just because we have traveled extensively to foreign countries when our kiddos were little and never needed a car seat for those short drives and never felt unsafe.
  13. and what restaurant might that be? looking for good food when we are there next month...we'll have 2 16yo boys with us...
  14. same. We've traveled enough over the years, even without cruising, that passports go with us.
  15. @goblues38 you touched on something that I have some concern about too...we are sailing on Harmony in November...it will be our first Oasis class ship...I have wondered all along about the pool areas. Of the cruises we've been on so far, there is never room in the main pool. I have wondered how they deal with that on the larger ship with so many more people and not, at least in my estimation, pools that would also be that much larger to handle the crowds. Even in the Solariums, we have NEVER been able to snag a seat in the sun around the pool. If we want sun, we have to go up a deck...then to cool off we walk back down to find a not croweded space in a pool. "very gross people soup" make me LOL then gag a little. ?
  16. What specifically do you use/recommend? And Why?
  17. Same for us. We enjoy the MDR. We did a BOGO on our 25th Anniversary cruise since it was a longer cruise but haven’t done any specialty dining since then. Probably won’t this year on either cruise. I don’t think you have to spend the extra money to still have an excellent cruise. Also, one of the reasons we haven’t done it again, is because we would want to try to restaurants that weren’t necessarily Chops. And with the new 2-night dining being Chops+1, we don’t really see a value in that for us. And knowing us, with the UDP, we’d feel “obligated” to eat more since we paid extra.
  18. There have even been several times where I have taken a smallish nap in the late evening, after dinner and before the late show, and came back after the late show and the bed was remade again. Ninjas for sure!
  19. @av3206 you're definitely braver to try than I am. let us know how it goes!
  20. We have NEVER, not one time, been approached to have photos taken on any of our cruises on any night. weird. Maybe we just LOOK like we're gonna say NO, so they steer clear of us? LOL The cruise we DID get photos on was our 25th anniversary cruise and we had to approach one of the photographers and for the other one we stood in line.
  21. First...I am sorry you had such a disappointing experience. Being a new cruiser (first one was October 2015), I had no personal, preconceived notions about what cruising used to be like...my thoughts of cruising were formed from watching "The Love Boat" when I was younger ? and hearing from friends/family who had cruised. I knew I NEVER needed to go on any kind of cruise...NOT MY CUPPA T. My brother and his wife cruise A LOT, alone AND with their kids and have been on several different lines. Based on his recommendations and his knowing how I like to travel/vacation, he strongly steered us to RC for the general atmosphere, service, itineraries, price. I love it now. We have found that we enjoyed the longer cruises better than the shorter one. Shorter cruises are generally cheaper and therefore have more people on them that are just there for a quick getaway, dare I say partying. The longer ones seemed to have less ... of that. More people who are there to relax and enjoy the ship and ports. not just the drinks. We felt better taken care of and paid more attention to on the longer ones. If that makes sense? Also, March is the PRIME spring break cruise time. I would suggest strongly that if you are taking your 80 yo mom on a cruise in March, that you consider a LONGER cruise on a NOT brand new ship. After spending lots of time reading here on the blogs, apparently March/spring break cruises are full of people, cheaply cruising and drinking lots. Just do a search at the top for spring break cruise and you'll be able to read threads about it. If I am completely out in left field about what I'm saying, I hope someone who has more cruising experience than I do will correct me. I hope you try RC again and that you and your family have a great time.
  22. There is also one on Navigator. @MarvinS The Wow Bands...were you able to get into your room with it? AND did you wear them in the pools?
