  1. So appreciative for all the response to my original question! Learning more about the Ft. Lauderdale area...wish I could visit more often!
  2. Indeed...the price is a bit out of our budget range. Flights ended up being higher than last year, so we’re trying to make up for it will a lower hotel rate!
  3. Wow, that sounds amazing! I’ll have to check it out! Being able to fit in a rental car would be great, especially with a family. And the two-bedroom suite sounds wonderful! Thanks for the information!
  4. Thank you for your response. Sorry to hear you were unhappy with your stay. So far, this location has the most to offer at the most reasonable rate. A smaller room won’t matter too much as we’ll be sailing in an inside cabin this cruise (first time in a long time not having a balcony). The B&B in Bermuda sounds amazing! Casinos can be fun, for sure! I live in Las Vegas, so we have quite a variety to choose from! But I still manage to drop a few $$ in the casino onboard!
  5. Outstanding! Thanks so much for that information! We realize we may have to Uber to a couple places, but if we can find dining and shopping within walking distance, that’s a huge bonus!
  6. Sounds good! I love being close to restaurants and shops! Checked prices and right now the Holiday Inn Express is around $120 more for the total stay. Will have to weight the pros and cons! P.S. what kind of strong smell?!!
  7. Great to know! We figured we’d Uber to the port!
  8. Thanks for the response...I was afraid the Hampton Inn may not be a good idea, so I appreciate your honesty! The small amount of money saved wouldn’t be worth it. The Bird and Lime scooters sound like fun! We may just have to try those out! Looking forward to checking out more of Ft. Lauderdale this time. Had to cancel our post-cruise/pre-airport plans last year due to one of our party getting ill the last day of our cruise. Thanks again!
  9. Thank you for the suggestion! I’ll have to check out the Holiday Inn Express! One of the great things about Embassy Suites was having restaurants and shopping close by! (Love Publix!)
  10. Going on Allure of the Seas July 2019. Staying 2 nights in Ft. Lauderdale pre-cruise. We already have a reservation at Fairfield Inn and Suites (Ft. Lauderdale Downtown/Las Olas on S. Federal Hwy). Looks like it’s not too far of a walk to Las Olas Blvd. Also looking at Hampton Inn and Suites (Downtown Ft. Lauderdale on N. Andrews Ave). Both are reasonably priced, and include free breakfast and free airport shuttle. Looks like Hampton Inn is a bit further from Las Olas Blvd. but the hotel has a shuttle that will transport you within the area (max 1 mile). And we would save some extra money staying there (Labadoozies anyone?!!) The Hampton Inn appears to be very close to the Greyhound Bus Station and some of their reviews referenced the area being less than ideal. Last year, we stayed at Embassy Suites 17th St., but it’s out of our budget this time...so, any thoughts would be most appreciated. Thanks, in advance!
  11. Thanks guys! I spoke with a Royal Caribbean Trip Planner today and Traditional is the only option available, however I can be put on the waitlist for My Time Dining. Thanks again for the responses!
  12. That’s outstanding! Thanks for the update!
  13. From what I’ve read...Royal Caribbean does not allow you to carry on bottled water.
  14. New to this Blog, so if this has been asked/discussed before, I apologize! (Tried a “search” with no luck...we are thinking of booking the Allure of the Seas for next July. Only dining option showing available is MDR early seating. We have family already booked and they have the My Time Dining. Is there a way we can switch from the MDR to My Time Dining? Thank you!
