  1. We've stayed at the Home2 which is very nice. When we arrived the told us they did not offer shuttle service to the port but would do it because they knew we were told they did. Home2 does not give you the same level of Hilton points as staying at other Hilton properties just in case this is a consideration for you. I like to build up my points. We are trying the Country Inn this June, hopefully. And we will try the Hampton Inn in September.
  2. I'm sure you will hear a lot of negative but it gives me hope for our family vacation in June. I think it means they are at least trying to get us cruising again.
  3. This is kind of funny because we have never been charged the upcharge. Maybe they are getting serious now.
  4. Call and book one with you and a kid in the room. Then she calls and books hers with another child in her room. We always book more than one room on the same cruise and offer. I have heard they are saying this lately but you can still book it.
  5. Costa Maya does have them right by the port but it was more expensive. We did the dolphins in Cozumel.
  6. As long as you don't get distracted and head straight over to the line for the bus you should be fine. Others tend to stop at other places. It is not a straight walk but kind of a curve. Ask someone and head right over there.
  7. We got the same color cards but they said Extra Key on them.
  8. You get off the tour bus then ask where the tour to the launch is and it is a short walk then you get in line there. It has a line for guided tours and a line for on your own.
  9. You will really enjoy it. We did the self guided with the bus out to the launch first and it was great. Our kids are 20, 13, & 8. Everything said above is right on the mark so I won't add anything to it other than have fun.
  10. Yes each cabana has the sale attendant all day. Since you have more than one cabana you may have different attendants at each cabana.
  11. At the beach club they have towels for you to use. They are not the same as the rest of the island.
  12. There are towel stations but don't remember where. There will be a booth set up on the pier to sign out towels.
  13. Regular loungers must get their towels with their sea pass card from a towel station.
  14. You can change a name up to 48 hours before the cruise as long as at least one person stays the same in each cabin.
  15. We booked directly with Royal and it was on sale for around $63 per person. We got in the water and got to touch with the dolphins. It included lunch and a little pool time. There were also shows there you could go see. The name was: All Inclusive Dolphin Encounter At Chankanaab National Park, you’ll find everything from snorkeling and scuba to swimming with dolphins.
  16. We like to rent a car from Budget as they have a shuttle. We've also got a resort for the day room and enjoyed that till our late flight.
  17. Yes and there are lots of beach clubs you can book for the day. Do a search here for Cozumel and you will find what you are looking for. Not sure if you would be interested but Cozumel is one of the least expensive places to interact with dolphins.
  18. Our whole family just did this on the Grandeur. Two of us had recently done it on the Empress as I stated in above posts. It was different but still good. One thing about Grandeur is that we did not get lanyards just a paper bracelet for the tour. We also were not allowed to carry anything but our phones with us where on Empress I had a small purse.
  19. Not sure why it isn't showing seems weird that it would be sold out so early. I hope someone can give you an answer but you may try calling Royal to book and they would give you an answer.
  20. Not always true. We don't always cruise in a suite but do cruise a lot so we are spending money with Royal even if not in a suite. Also, Hilton rewards me for being loyal and I get lots of free rooms there. Rewarding those who travel with you often is a great way to make more money.
  21. Honestly I would do the reverse and have the lazy day at Labadee because there is less to do there. I would pick the activities at Coco Cay for the day.
  22. Why didn't you feel it was safe? Hubby and I loved it and now have it booked for our kids this summer.
  23. Yes you need to step right outside the gate area where they pick up for tours and get a cab.
  24. A refresh would be nice at Labadee but I hope they keep the two as different as they are. For us Labadee is a relaxing beach day and Coco Cay is a fun family day.
  25. In Cozumel which we've been to many, many times we looked for something new so hubby and I did the cooking class at Playa Mia through Royal. So worth every penny and so fun. Cooking and drinking then free time and free drinks at the beach club. Roatan was on my bucket list for the sloths and we went with Daniel Johnson to his sanctuary. It was again worth every penny but we booked this direct so we could get there before the sloths went for their nap. Costa Maya we rented a golf club and drove around. Stopped for a drink in town that was just okay but we probably hit the wrong beach club. I had a great hour long massage on the beach for $20. It really depends on what you like and what you want. I do recommend that if you want a beach club in Costa Maya that you prebook it and get good instructions on how to get there. They all try to get you to go to their beach club.
